Great customer care after missed connection but improvements needed

After missing a connecting flight due to bad weather Iberia arranged for me a Hotel overnight stay in Madrid including meals transfer By the time I stepped out of the delayed airplane everything had already been arranged for me That was excellent customer care The company needs to do more to move to a global perspective Your employees - both on the airplane and at the airport - should not fear speaking English and should not look annoyed when you don t understand Spanish And disruptions at the Madrid airport need to be addressed better and more efficiently - Iberia customer service there when needed the most was definitely insufficient

not so bad

Looking at the opinions I can think nothing more than to start with the virtues Iberia has for me To travel to Latin America from Europe it is one of the best and in direct connection from Spain with the USA spectacular Removing the pandemic which has been devastating for everyone of course Outside of what Barajas is the attention it is poor compared to others And their website works in a disastrous way Their telephone service in Spanish you have to be very skilled to handle it Advice for complaints directly write your claim on the Iberia page in English and attach the receipts and wait Be clear and brief and it is solved better than talking

Prompt flight refund from Iberia

I was amazed how quickly I got through to Iberia on the phone to claim a refund for my son s cancelled return flights from Brazil to Spain due to Covid 19 Two weeks later the money was back in my account with no hassle I had been sceptical when I wasnt given a reference number for my query claim but so glad Iberia followed through Much appreciated at a time when life is stressful enough

Last Sunday I missed a flight and found

Last Sunday I missed a flight and found myself at the Dublin airport I was already through customs but I was too late As a result I had to book another flight I was irritated that I had missed my flight but I quickly found a flight to Madrid flight IB3791 online with Iberia so I booked it To my frustration there was a problem with check-in I booked an extra fast track and priority I ended up having to wait a long time before I could check in due to a glitch in the system BUT There was a man at the check-in counter who was so incredibly friendly to everyone he made me and the other travelers with the same problem laugh while waiting Better said I did not find the wait annoying I don t know this man s name but my compliments to the man who worked like this at the check-in desk I hope to run into this man again when there are problems checking in for a flight

They do get it right some of the time

We flew out with Iberia on Good Friday Heathrow to Madrid Flight left 20 mins late but we still arrived ahead of schedule We had a choice of movies to watch on the back of the seat which we were ridiculously delighted with as hadn t had that as an option for many years We flew back with Ib Express which was a smaller budget plane but still left on time You could select and watch movie on your phone but it was too quiet even with phone on max volume I booked early so for just over 300 return for 3 of us during school holidays Iberia offered great value for money with a better free hand luggage allowance than easy jet It looks like from the reviews if things go wrong Iberia is hell to deal with but if you are lucky like us and things go right they can be a great option
