I love the program but I am unhappy

I love the program but I am unhappy with admin and how inflexible they were In these days of pandemic they would not move my payments back to help me while I got the money together I also noted that I was enrolled in the wrong age group for my content area and they told me they could mot change me from ELAR 4-8 to ELAR 7-12 Finally when asking about receiving my transcripts and why they hadn t I could not get a straight answer Their favorite way is to site the website even if it does not answer the question you asked The live chat agents were more helpful than administration

I learned more in the classroom than I

I learned more in the classroom than I did using the instruction course work I did not apply much of the instructional work offered in Iteach because most of it was not useful I do not think it helped me as well as I expected in the classroom being a teacher Course work should be more aligned to help teachers create lesson plans understanding how to break standards down and classroom management For someone who has a degree in a completely different field than Education this is not very helpful It is helpful in getting your certification for teaching but the instructional work is not very useful

Poor Experience

Program was fine Very little direction A lot to figure out for yourself The president founder was very rude to me in emails and did not make instructions clear when I didn t understand When asking for clarification it took 3 times of me asking to receive guidance There s a lot to figure out for yourself or things that are assumed that you would do without being told or even have the option presented to you So if you don t have someone who is already a teacher helping you it is extremely difficult to figure out

Communication

Communication In the process of working toward my certification I feel like communication has been lacking Prior to the COVID-19 communication was lacking Once the COVID-19 closures began iTeach did not share the changes needed for certification and what steps needed to be taken in order to advance through this process

Eh

This program got me the certificate I needed but at no point was that process easy Things are hidden throughout the website and getting a hold of someone is incredibly difficult The only reason I am giving 2 stars and not 1 is because my observer was amazing He provided stellar feedback and was easy to reach

Texas Teachers vs Iteach

My husband and I had fun to test both programs Both were interesting with benefits and misses Iteach was cheap vs Texas Teacher was more money but worth the extra few dollars Texas Teachers prepared my husband for the classroom more then Iteach did for me The training was completely different Teachers of Tomorrow helped both of us get jobs with the resources and the job fairs hehe In the end both good but after getting a deeper dive I would select Texas Teachers

I have moved states and will not be able to finish due to unforeseen circumstances I still have to pay the entire amount even though I was set up with monthly payments

I got hired on the fly and I wanted to go back and review what I need to do on the first day but I can t - I am denied access for some odd reason REALLY cool that I paid for the program but cannot access the site And the actual program is for lack of a better term lazy

My supervisor was great and helpful and

My supervisor was great and helpful and the process to receive my standard certificate was appreciative since I didn t do the traditional route However the program was slow in activating certain modules that followed after I completed the previous one The course stated that you would automatically be enrolled after 3-5 days I believe I had to email admin more than a couple of times due to the time it was taking This held me back some and it shouldn t have since it was noted it would be done automatically The purpose of this program is to facilitate the certification process not delay it
