I have had a mixed experience using JS Law Initially I had a member of staff dealing with the sale of my property and purchase of a new house I won t name names as I don t feel that is fair however I found myself having to do a lot of her job for her I e chasing things up that I would expect her to do for the amount I was paying especially as I work 12 hour shifts so don t always have time to be chasing estate agents etc I did ring and requested to speak to a manager to make a complaint due to having no update after 2 months of me ringing constantly and just being told to chase up estate agents myself for an update however I never heard from anyone and just assume my message was ignored I was then given Aisha Khan out of of blue to help deal with everything she was fantastic from the minute I first spoke to her until the day I moved Nothing was too much work for her and she always gave constant updates regarding progress I just wish that I had been given Aisha from day 1 as I feel things definitely would have been a lot less stressful for me I want to thank Aisha for all of her hard work and reassurance she truly was fantastic

As first time buyers myself and my girlfriend were of course new to the processes that entailed We felt that there was little or no advice given on a lot of the various documentation and actions that we were asked to take throughout and felt somewhat rushed and disregarded in some cases with emails flying in simply asking us to sign and return asap We also realised the process could have been completed up to a month sooner as we sent over a lot of documents as per request but were told a month later these were never received which was down to a lack of communication between colleagues However nearer to completion of the process we did see an improvement whereby our solicitor did seem to be working hard to ensure that everything got over the line and thus this went some way to appeasing us and meant that our faith in the process was restored to an extent And so in conclusion we just feel that more care and attention could have been given to us to keep us happy to assure us that we were doing the right things and to feel comfortable as first time buyers Nevertheless thank you so much for everything and we are so happy to be in our new home

We bought and sold properties at the same time with JS Law Quote The inital quote appears to be very competitive but once the initial deposit is paid a pack of fine printed T Cs include half a page of additional charges that can be made Comparing to other conveyancing firms in hindsight most of these additional charges were included in their quotes - unlike JS Law Furthermore there are additional charges that were quite new to us compared to other firms e g expedition charge for completion within 5 days of exchange of contracts Conveyancing Based on past experience with other conveyancing firms this was not the smoothest experience - The conveyancer required constant reminding of outstanding actions and after agreeing such actions required significant amount of chasing up and follow ups - Without our consent or informing us the conveyancer contacted our lender for a redemption statement whilst we were still in the process of negotiating with the lender - Despite requesting copies of communication between our conveyancer and the buyer sellers conveyancer several times we only received a partial set

It s said that noone has a good word to say about Solicitors they re usually only a part of your life during the most stressful of circumstances My experience with JSLaw though was for the most part positive As with any company I guess you re in the lap of the gods as to who you deal with and this was bourne out with this company - some very good people who went above and beyond their remit but also some that made you feel like a pain for chasing updates I guess in the murky and not often travelled waters of solicitors you d find this company as good but not significantly better than the others Would I use them again I wouldn t not use them again let s put it that way What I would say is that our move eventually went through and JSLaw are competitive in terms of fees so now we are in and settled it feels like reasonably good value if such a thing is possible with legal representation

Excellent service from start to end I am very please with JS Law s staff and their competency I will recommend to my family and friends to use JS Law to buy and sell the property

Khusbhu Bhikhabhai She was competent and completed the job in good time without any problems She was also friendly and approachable on the phone when we were lucky enough to get through However I felt there was poor attention to detail documents sent with different titles from those in the covering letters leaving us guessing little explanation and a lack of clear answers to questions no checking of previously submitted documents before asking for the same information again There was also a security issue where we were asked to send bank details by email On the whole the service was fine but left us often confused and feeling unsupported I realise this was a particularly busy time with the stamp duty holiday imminent and I suspect our solicitor was expected to cope with too many cases in too little time

Shaheen Chand has been very helpful with both my sale and purchase conveyancing files and I would give her 5 as an individual solicitor Unfortunately I got off to a rocky start with JS-Law and my original conveyancer Tom Audley as my sale file encountered 2 delays at the very start which meant it didn t get off the ground for about 6 weeks I put this down to lack of communication from my solicitor which I can only assume is because he was leaving the company and didn t care anymore However since Shaheen took over my file things have been a lot smoother and she has been in regular contact via phone and email thoughout to keep me updated We have still not exchanged completed but we are very nearly there Thanks Shaheen for preserveering with my buyers solicitors

The first couple of months of dealing with JS Law were pretty hellish Unanswered emails calls and voicemails that seemed to go into a bottomless pit never to be responded to I even received a call from the worried estate agent because my solicitors had gone AWOL on the vendor s solicitors for two weeks We ended up frustrated and regretting our decision to go with this firm based on the recommendation from our mortgage broker I think if the seller was more impatient the sale could have fallen through Two months into the process we were assigned a different solicitor Kylie who despite being hard to reach at times was generally a lot better at keeping us in the loop and moving things forward We eventually completed the sale thanks to her I m being quite generous with a three star rating overall

Usually very good but some thing needs to be sorted as you have to get out of your property at 12 o clock then the exchange of monies should be sorted out earlier so that you can pick up keys by 12-30-1 oclock

Whilst the conveyancing dealt with by Paige was extremely helpful and friendly the Financial side needs a major overhall should be overseen checked by someone who is able to ensure figures are correct Am still waiting after 3 weeks for an explanation why the final Statement is incorrect
