In the beginning I couldn t fault js

In the beginning I couldn t fault js law but has our purchase was coming to competition date they were very slow wouldn t return my calls kept being told different thing by different people who didn t have a clue what they were on about and total bill at the end was much more than they quoted So beware when choosing because it seems a good price they like to add a lot of money on the final figure

Very Helpful when you can get hold of them

JS Law are great if you dont like talking to people on the phone I very much enjoy the use of eWay and being able to track the case progress online whenever I want It does take some work trying to speak to someone on the phone however given the current climate I understand that they are super busy and in high demand I left a bad review on here when I was frustrated with communication issues but that was resolved fairly quickly and our conveyancer was very helpful and understanding afterwards

I sold my apartment in June this year

I sold my apartment in June this year it is now October and still not moving forward paper work was emailed to me I had to remedy that I did not have a printer it was then posted and returned by registered post I have asked for an update I was told buyers solicitor was making backward and forward enquiries I paid 312 for an information pack regarding service charges and ground rent I may live long enough to exchange contracts being 83

Not great

Multiple issues with JS Law however I have never used a solicitors before so have nothing to compare to I am unsure if the issues I had were with my conveyancer or the firm in general but Kashfa was able to get this sorted within my mortgage offer timeframe for which I m grateful

Retention Amount

Take note that those purchasing apartments that have Service charges of previous year not demanded yet do maintain a higher retention amount during the sales process 500 With inflation the lawyers tend to miscalculate as they disregard inflation keeping you to deal with heavy year-end service fee of the previous owner JS Law solicitor discarded my suggestion to keep a higher retention and now I pay the price

Customer care a little lacking

First time buyer I chose JS Law as they were referred to me by the estate agent of the house I was buying I worked with Ridda Khalid on my case Overall I think she did a good job We got to completion in about 3 months which is a great turnaround but it was when interacting with Ridda directly I had a couple issues Speaking on the phone with her could be a little difficult as she always spoke very fast and was prone to interrupting as well it was like she was always trying to get the conversation over as fast as possible There was also a time where my case had a large additional fee added at the home stretch which I felt could have been avoided The information that led to Ridda noticing the fee was needed was on documents uploaded to the eWay maybe 2 months prior but it was only when it was emailed directly to her that she noticed basically telling me she wasn t checking over my documents proactively I know my gripes are minor but when you are promised the best service and then you end up dealing with someone who feels like they re only listening to you half the time and additional fees are appearing all over it can get pretty frustrating I was quoted somewhere in the low 1k range but ended up paying near 2k overall Overall I d say Ridda and JS Law did a satisfactory job but I doubt I d recommend them to someone else

Good conveyancor but their accounts department let s the side down

We received a brilliant level of service from our conveyancor Laura Cameron She did her utmost best to push the purchase of our new home through she responded to all of our queries promptly she was very professional and knowledgeable and we were kept well informed of all updates Their eWay app was very helpful Unfortunately JS law s accounts department let s the side down we experienced a number of issues with them Firstly a couple of days before completion they said we hadn t paid the initial search fee which we had in fact paid at the outset which was 438 they said this had to be paid or completion wouldn t go ahead This caused all sorts of stress before the completion date we had to troll through our bank statements to prove we had paid this fee and provide them with proof Secondly a month after completion we got a letter in the post from HMRC who informed us that our stamp duty hadn t been paid and because of the late payment HMRC were now issuing a late penalty fee I contacted JS law to find out that they hadn t paid the stamp duty due to an IT error This again caused unnecessary stress for us Mr Mrs Ali

Great if you want a pay and forget service

I would have given it 1 star but with my case having been taken over by Nick he managed to get us across the finish line We had delays and issues with our process both from the sale and purchase We had issues getting info and discussing our case with our initial solicitor and they were also leaving the firm I only found out by coincidence as I was CC d into an email but didn t have any email from JsLaw saying this was happening The eWay portal is a fairly nice method to see your progress and upload documents And I imagine if your sale purchase is simpler and smoother than ours That the service would effectively be carefree as you watch the progress bar on the portal tick down I think ours had a few more speed bumps than most We d like to thank Nick again for his hard work getting us here

Fran is Great however

Although Francesca is a pleasure to deal with and puts up with me calling her Fran all the time This sale and purchase has been a nightmare from start to still not finished Its been 8 months and is being held up by JS LAW the people i m actually paying to provide me a service they have no sense of urgency and are currently taking over 2 days to decide whether to sign off my file so I can exchange Really unhappy They seem more interested in making sure their own interests are covered rather than looking after their clients EDIT i replied to Trustpilot as requested it is now the 14th 11 days after my initial review and i still havent exchanged its been sat in a queue for the last 5 days and i would like to complete on the 17th

Thanks for replying how can we send you the reference number as it would be great to understand why paperwork hasn t been sorted out We were also not informed regarding how to obtain Title deeds after completion They worked everything out at the end however during the entire process we had to email n call many times to get replies Also not happy that we didn t get a response before of after about obtaining a Gas safety certificate from the sellers of the property Would ve expected this task to be completed as it s standard while selling and buying property so now stuck without one at all and incurring further expense doing it Ideally it s expected that the solicitors put everything and your best interests first being the client
