Be Aware that it may renew automatically

Well to be honest I had forgotten I even had an account with Keycare I now know it automatically reviews with my car insurance each year - and yet its not mentioned It would be helpful constructive and good customer service to hear from Keycare each time it is renewed a thank you email or letter and remind me of our contract and what they can do to help I did need to call on them this year when I had gotten myself locked out of the car I was just told to get it sorted and then hand in my receipt for repayment However that wasnt all I had to do honestly I nearly gave up I had to send receipt twice I had to send a copy of bank statement showing that I had paid for new keys I had to prove that I was insured they wanted a copy of my log book etc Quite a few hoops to jump through too many I shall not renew next year

Poor cover

I snapped my key in my front door Locksmith came out and replaced keys and barrel at a cost of 180 all keycare would compensate was 50 Given my premium for key cover was two thirds of that I think that is very poor I m moving my policy back elsewhere with a company that covers properly

The customer communication was

The customer communication was excellent and the replacement of the keys was first class Everyone I spoke to was polite and helpful However we were on a week long holiday in Scotland and I was advised on the Thursday that the keys would arrive on the Saturday and be fitted on the Sunday the day we were due to come home On the Saturday morning we were told they would not arrive until the Tuesday morning and that was when the locksmith would fit them too We had to pay for two more nights at the hotel and the extra meals plus it was another 2 unexpected days being stuck in that location But for the delay it would have been 5 stars

Took 2 weeks to reply to my original E Mail Kept getting an automated reply But once I managed to make Contact Service was first class And once I returned my receipt from the Lock Doctor Received my cheque within 8 days So only problem trying to make the first contact But very impressed with rest of service

Offered 50 towards 250 quote

My AA account promises to repair keys But they decided mine didn t qualify apart from a 50 contribution and quoted 250 for in house cost way higher than anything I could find on the high street Did call them a few times and they were helpful Meant I knew I could get the key repaired replaced on the high street for half the price and just claim the 50 back I don t feel safe with this key care because I know if it needs repair they are highly unlikely to replace in any meaningful financial way However overall service good and friendly and better to have 50 than not But this isn t fool proof insurance for accident repairs

I lost my key while on holiday fishing

I lost my key while on holiday fishing on the river Earn in Scotland near Crieff in Perthshire I was told this was too remote for any quick response and it would be a few days before anyone could come and provide a replacement I therefore had to rely on the AA relay service to bring me and the car back to Winchester where I was able to get a replacement key provided

Speedy payment at the cost of rude advisor

Timing and payment was great but advisor was a bit rude Had a bit of attitude in the way they spoke and using When typing when trying to accuse me of doing something incorrect Not professional at all But besides that Fine

Poor communication

I didn t like that the company didn t seem to communicate with each other and as a result I was given mixed messages I received letters that contradicted what I had been told by customer care which made the experience frustrating and long winded When I was able to speak with staff members who took time to listen the process was relatively simple and my issue resolved as planned Better communication and a willingness to treat each customer as an individual is needed
