My 5 year old boy has been doing Maths Kumon everyday for 6months For the hours he has put it he still can not grasp adding and taking away 1 or 2 from a number The Kumon method does nothing to help kids understand and use numbers and mathematics To be honest I do not actually understand now what Kumon is trying to achieve There are small cohort of kids who remember parrot fashion and understand what they are doing For them Kumon may give them practice to speed their mental arithmetic up But it provides nothing else The booklets you can devise yourself or use any mental arithmetic papers or maths games online I really do not see the point of Kunon If you sat anyone down everyday for 15mins doing something eventually they will become quicker or better why pay Kumon for that Besides the deep understanding of numbers that kids need is not fulfilled in anyway by Kumon

Did not have a good experience at Kumon My child felt overworked and overwhelmed with the amount of work they were giving her and she found it hard to understand concepts as there was no tutoring per say All the children do is sit and complete the sheets so essentially you pay a lot of money for some worksheets you can source on the internet We had a free trial at Kip McGrath and Explore Learning nearly two months ago now and decided to join Explorer Learning and my daughter is really enjoying it- my advice is to invest your money elsewhere Kumon is very franchisey and more about the money than the children Not a good experience at all

I went to kumon for a lot of my primary and some of high school not only was it a waste of time effort and tears but it did not really help Although it helped with the basics such as multiplication it did not help later on I and my sister despise it it only brought stress and made out mental health worsen the time expectations and the repetitive sums were so tiring The frustration was unbearable and the instructors did not help I DO NOT RECOMMEND SAVE YOUR MONEY TIME AND CHILDS MENTAL HEALTH

I put my 10 year old that finished year 5 and is outstanding in Mathematics and Reading English and Kumon Stratford London said to me that my child needs to do year one and two Math exercises Just to be clear my child is considered by his oustanding Colegrave primary school that hi is well over his age in Mathematics As well I have done all summer long year 6 sats exercises and hardly needed help This guys put our kids that low to make them be ashamed and frustrated and to take our money for degrading them I want to add that the tutor is very unprofessional he speaks on the phone and chat in time that the children tries to concentrate to do their work This business should not be allowed to teach any children No parent should allow his child through this nightmare I will complain to Ofsted and trading standards

My partner signed our daughter to Kumon and after a few months we have cancelled Nothing against the tutor personally however the tasks were basic and extremely repetitive I understand now Kumon really is just an exercise in quick mental math however it provides no problem solving activities whatsoever With hindsight I do wish that we had read more reviews before signing up but it is what it is Would not recommend

Very Nice staff but I was amazed to see my 11 year old nephew s course material 10 1 15 3 11-4 15-10 etc to be solved in his maths class This is usually for 5 or 6 year olds not for 11 or 12 At his age I was doing quadratic equations They say it s Japanese style but I m sure Japanese kids are cleverer than that I dare not open his English work book else I might implode Feels like a waste of money and most parents probably don t look at the course material They dish out performance certificates on top to 10 and 11 year olds for solving 10 5

I have been going to Kumon for a long time now and it has done nothing but ruin my mental health It does not help me with school at all - they give me repetitive worksheets that I have been doing for months and the instructor that instructs me and my brother is not kind supportive AT ALL Sometimes she would call you stupid and has a bad temper It is just a waste of money and all it does is make your child feel bad of themeselves

Kumon - Gravesend absolutely pathetic No response from Kyranjeet owner if you have any question about your child s progress or monthly payment or anything Customers are ignored Its just business and nothing else

During the pandemic my child got a new level G he found it really hard because they expect you to know it straught away they show example then haves a different question which the example doesnt show so how is he meant to know if no one teaches him

COMPLETE RUBBISH TOTAL CON Kumon makes the parent do all the daily worksheets teachers do absolutely nothing The entire onus is on the parent to do everything I joined two different kumon clubs and they are all the same - crap Kumon is best at taking your hard earned money and delivering ZERO If you want to give your money away quick then join these rip off jokers - sorry to be candid but i dont want others to suffer how my child did with this absolute disgraced method of teaching
