A team of nine men turned up at my house to install a heat pump The office were aware that my son is autistic Had they advised me that so many people were going to arrive I would not have gone ahead with the job Having so many people around with a huge amount of disruption was very distressing for him They fitted that radiators cylinder and pump on the first day and came back the next day to commission it Two men were sat around the cylinder from about 9am until 3pm with a break for lunch The RCD switch kept flicking off whilst they were here and whilst they were out for lunch Despite this they left and told me that the water would be hot in about 40minutes and gave me a thermostat About 10minutes after they left the RCD switch flicked off again I was unable to contact the installers or the office it was a Friday We had no hot water I managed to contact one of their plumbers on the Saturday he kindly called late Saturday afternoon to try and help He had an eclectic shock from the cylinder and advised us to turn the whole thing off About half an hour after he left water started coming through the bathroom ceiling The plumber arranged for the who supervised the installation to call and repair the leak about 9 30 on Saturday night We still had no hot water Naturally I fully expected that the system would be made good on the Monday particularly as the cylinder had given an electric shock to the plumber LDECO and Samsung Joule argued over who was responsible for replacing the cylinder this went one for eight days We still had no hot water LDEco did eventually replace the cylinder I heard a very loud bang whilst the engineers were working They had shorted the panels and so took the panels of the original faulty cylinder and put them on the new one This seemed to work but the system was very noisy especially at night Once again I was made to feel like a nuisance and once again LDECO and Samsung Joule argued over who was responsible An engineer from Joule called and discovered that the circuit boards had been cross wired it was trying to cool down but was unable to because of the cross wiring Christmas morning I went into my airing cupboard where the cylinder is the washing basket was full of water the clean towels in the basket underneath was now full of dirty wet towels My husband went into the attic and discovered a heavy duty black bag with water in This had been tied to the remains of what was the gas boiler flue pipe Rather than replace the roof tiles where the flue exited the roof LDECO tied a bag to catch the water LDECO did send a roofer to fix this it should never have happened especially on Christmas morning We have an ongoing problem with the whole system being far too noisy particularly at night I am being woken up by it LDECO tell me that they have signed the job off How can they sign off their own appalling work They tell me that they have their own self employed retrofit inspector He has not been here I most certainly am not happy with the project or for that matter the attitude of LDECO who seem to believe that they have done me a favour my just turning up It seems to me that LDECO want to make as much money as fast as they can regardless of the homes and lives that they damage along the way Who would not want a holiday a Bali a home in the Med or a Ford Mustang This a a true account of my experience with LDECO I leave it to you to decide if you would trust this company in your home

Update UPDATE - The office emailed me shortly after I posted this review After a little back and forth a date was arranged to install extra radiators The plumbers turned up when they said they would they were all very pleasant on site and they ve done a great job Hopefully we ll be a little warmer from here on in If I could give this company less than one star I would Not only are they completely incompetent they are also compulsive liars Their communication is awful They rarely answer the phone when they do they don t send people when they say they ll send them Their favourite lie is this comes under manufacturers warranty we promise you we re fighting your corner The reality is they can t be bothered and they re just playing for time Their plumbers didn t fit the boiler properly then blamed me for keeping the controls near the boiler which wasn t true They connected the hot and cold water supply the wrong way around replaced a floor board at the top of our stairs with a bit of chipboard my husband put his foot through it and nearly fell down the stairs TBF by this point we laughed about it because we simply couldn t believe they could be so unprofessional boy were we wrong Their scaffolders wrecked our roof we had water pouring in through our lights and they refused to take responsibility for it until I threatened court action By the time they finally fixed it they had to replace the insulation they had put in weeks before and replaster our downstairs Then the scaffolders came back and did it again We literally spent weeks staying with my parents because our home wasn t habitable Our electrics stopped working and they blamed us again we had to battle with them to fix the issue Getting anyone out to help us was nothing short of an endurance test Nine months later we were still having problems they had to send another electrician to fix the work the last electricians were supposed to fix The new electricians are really nice guys as are the lads that fit the solar panels and the insulation team Pretty much everyone else sucks Our downstairs doesn t get warmer than 19 5 degrees in milder weather and 17 5 degrees in cold weather the only exception is our tiny downstairs bathroom approx 1 5m x 3m We have a three bedroom semi not a sprawling mansion Bearing in mind the equipment and labour is supposed to be covered by LD eco Ltd for 2 yrs after installation they haven t answered any correspondence from me since 8th of December If you are going ahead with an ECO grant then for your own sanity safety comfort and wellbeing do not use these cowboys Next steps are governing bodies and media APHC and MSC Certified for anyone else experiencing issues The whole point of having this done was to move away from our oil central heating and wood burners if we don t get anywhere with the complaints process we will be returning to oil and wood rest assured the bill for this will be sent to LD eco and payment in full will be expected or I will absolutely relish taking them to court I d like to finish by saying the whole process was a shambles from beginning to end but there is no end in sight

If you have any respect for you home and its contents then DO NOT let these cowboys in I ve never known such blatant disregard disrespect and slapdash incompetence Their only interest is to get in and get out as quickly as possible to maximise their profit on the job I had internal insulation fitted in my Victorian cottage and I wish now I d saved and had a professional company do the install as its cost me thousands in lost and cancelled airbnb bookings my only income because of their drawn out substandard work and the time its taken for me to put things right at my expense Its been an unbelievable botch job They destroyed deep period skirting board and tried to fob me off with very badly fitted much smaller MDF and plastic window board They couldn t be bothered to put down dust sheets and so got expanding foam sawdust and plaster all over the carpet and furniture They used my 19th century antique davenport desk as a workbench badly scratchings the top and ripping the tooled leather They blew up my Henry vacuum cleaner by sucking up water with it And they left rubbish everywhere Oh and one of the contractors even tried to blag over 800 out of me for work I knew to be included in the grant Also they couldn t be bothered to lift the toilet seat and wipe up their drips They started work the first week of November and I was told it would take 10-14 days They finished putting the radiators back on the walls in February March Its now May and I m still battling with Fraser Cressall LD ECO MD who hasn t once left his ivory tower to come and see the issues firsthand for himself as three new radiators haven t worked since Needless to say I have extensive photos and screenshots of messages

Truly horrific experience
Truly horrific experience large job not really what they are used to Communication has been totally awful They have ripped carpets broke floors ceilings burst water pipes laid water pipes next to electric wires and scorched them safety was non existent no welfare even on a job taking weeks and females on site LD ECO Subcontract the works and couldn t project manage a p up in a brewery The guys in the office don t understand the job and do their best but that is still totally inadequate The Directors wont talk to anyone and are only interested in the money Avoid if you can i still have ripped carpets broke floors no skirting or sills damaged ceilings and rads in the wrong place nearly 6 months after they started PS i work in construction management Note as a female in construction I applaud women working in construction I just have issues with this company not providing ANY welfare provision at all in breach of workplace health and safety regulations 1992 Basic toilet and washing facilities on a site of this duration for anyone especially females who can t urinate in the garden like the male workers is the minimum requirement

Followed up with already delayed appointments as I couldn t wait around all day just to check when they would arrive roughly but was quickly told This is a free service as if my time didn t matter and promptly on the phone all of a sudden oh they are changing the day as we speak I couldn t do that day so they just cancelled the entire job there and then

It was not explained to me that the original fault was a manufacturing error or that they would relaced it within 48hours It is almost impossible get a response to emails or phone calls to LDECO You most certainly have not been responsive in fact your own engineers have told me that even they have problems contacting you I seem to remember Luke telling me that the decibel meter was showing over 60 We clearly have different recollections here The sound coming from it has no resemblance at all to a fridge Not one of the issues has been investigated in a timely manner Do you have an excuse for the fact that the cylinder was left unsafe after the first installation the electrician had an electric shock from it Or for using the panel from it to replace the blown panel from the replacement and then leaving it once again faulty How do you explain the plastic bag over the gas flue pipe resulting in the Christmas morning flood

Very unprofessional Said Id met the eligibility for an eco4 grant Sent Andy around who said I could get an air source heat pump solar and loft insulation but didnt explain how or where this would be installed very limited information and when I queried where the air source pump was going to be located and the radiators I was met with no response to emails no response to endless telephone messages left and therefore no grant What a shambles

The saga of LD eco continues it s been now over 4 months and they still haven t finished No communication No show No safety No welfare No customer service No repairs to damage and work is still incomplete I have holes in ceilings water damage no skirting and no sills after 4 months I have damaged carpet unsafe electrics rads put in ridiculous places which make the room unworkable I have a skip outside the house which was supposed to have been replaced weeks ago What a shambles
