I filled out the instructions of what to do when my ISA matured but these were ignored and all the funds just went into a low interest saver account without notifying me that this had happened Then if I want to withdraw my money to somewhere other than another Leeds account I have to fill out a paper form and post it what is this the 1990s

Account opening by post is painful
Account opening by post is painful I tried to open an account by post and they just sent the docs back without an adequate explanation of why the docs were inadequate I tried to speaking to them which is painful too as the people at the call centre have to email the back office and wait for a response but no clear answer other than try again send exactly the same docs as last time

A very poor experience
I have been with Leeds for some time but became dissatisfied with their Easy Access interest rates not being adjusted following increases in the Bank of England base rates This is taking investors for a ride Three other Building Societies had notified me of interest increases I decided to close my account What did this involve Form filling - what happened to 2022 technology And just to rub salt into wounds - a 20 charge for electronic transfer of funds Will definitely NOT be returning

Terrible website and limited options
Terrible website - limited product options once you need to move your money unless you want to put your money away for ages Complicated to move your money to another account - was just a massive hassle for a tiny better interest rate won t bother again

Contact centre Newcastle Have had to make an official complaint about the atrocious response of a CSO at that call centre never before have I been spoken to in such a manner I eagerly await the written response of the call review so I can take the matter further to the ombudsman Branch staff are always pleasant in my experience Roland

Shocking penalties for continuing savings
I had an existing ISA which I wanted to transfer to a new higher interest rate ISA This could not be done online Very inadequate antiquated system After contacting Leeds they agreed to manage this transfer However they penalised me by deducting a Years interest even though the original ISA S term had expired many Years previously NO OTHER FINANCIAL ORGANISATION PENALISES SAVERS IN THIS WAY I KNOW AS I HAVE TRANSFERED MANY ISA S OVER THE YEARS WITH OTHER FINANCIAL ORGANISATIONS Shocking conduct

The online service is pretty terrible
The online service is pretty terrible transactions are slow to update It seems the legacy technology from the eighties has not been upgraded to deliver customers with the service they expect Leeds is a little shady by paying moneyfacts to place it s accounts higher up on the rate tables than they actually are The 1 regular saver usually appears at the top of moneyfacts when it should be near the bottom Rather than paying for advertising the Leeds should pay members a better rate It is shameful that it wants to mislead members

I cannot recommend Leeds BS for online accounts
I took out an online ISA on 1st December and five weeks later after several frustrating phone calls over the 5 week period have been unable to access my account despite the funds being with the Leeds The staff are polite and friendly and try to help hence two not one stars but despite their efforts have been unable to enable me to gain access I gave up on them and moved my ISA elsewhere A shame as previous accounts managed in branch were always run efficiently They were quick to move my funds out when I opened my ISA elsewhere and I was pleased with that

Time to Transfer Money
Went in just after opening time to ask for a large money transfer from my cash Isa This was to be sent to a bank account in my name disappointed to lose 68 interest but thats the T C s I was told it would be a speedy transfer which could take upto the end of the working day tomorrow but could well be in by the end of this working day So it hasn t arrived yet so don t know why they would class it as a speedy transfer I can t understand how if I transfer pay someone it can be done straight away but a big company can t manage this The building society replied but didn t explain why it takes the length of time or why it can only happen during business hours

Unable to apply for product as existing customer
I am a mortgage customer and tried to take out a savings account The process asks you to login at which point it takes you on a circular journey which never actually enables you to apply for an account
