Absolutely hopeless trying to open an

Absolutely hopeless trying to open an ISA online Spoke to customer service who were helpful but I d tried to deposit money into the account which didn t get accepted I received an email with my query which I had to forward to some weird email or check my account to see the answer but no Inbox Amateurish would be a generous useless would be fair

Very disappointing customer service

I wrote a very impressive review on Tuesday of this week about the Leeds Building Society I spoke to someone in my local Nottingham branch she was extremely helpful I had another question today 19 4 24 11 40 am but was put through to a central switchboard I spoke to someone with a Northern accent possibly Newcastle Sunderland I think he said his name was Luke He was the most unhelpful person I had the misfortune to speak to A very can I really be bothered attitude Just shows you what one employee can do for a company compared to another Leeds take note please listen to your recordings

Customer is always wrong

Avoid Appalling customer service Useless website Cannot access my own money as their system does not work correctly They say its me Very rude complaints handler All they can say is Go to Ombudsman I have been passed from one person to another overvthd last 2 weeks but still locked out Hours wasted on phone and waiting for return calls which don t happen Been a customer for 30 years but no longer Never experienced anything like this with any other financial institution They need to update their system to one which works without delay

I telephoned Leeds on 20th April

I telephoned Leeds on 20th April 2023 to ask if i could open an account to transfer a previous years Cash Isa into I was assured that i could I gave you all the information you needed but your transfer form s never arrived However following several more phone calls my account was finally opened on the 3rd July 2023 This took far too long to open my account I really considered cancelling the transaction

Antiquated Service

I tried to set-up a Joint Online Savings Account with the Leeds Firstly the process was antiquated clunky and overly complex Witnessed Hardcopy Verification was required to be delivered by snail mail yes snail mail in this day and age My application was accepted manually by email after several days But where was the joint part of the account my wife wasn t included I called up and was told after set-up a further two hardcopy forms where required which they would send to me one for my wife s details also requiring witnessed hardcopy verification and secondly change my account to a joint account At this point I cancelled the application and looked for another Bank

Archaic online banking layout

Archaic online banking layout - with no mobile app in 2024 Takes 1 whole working day to withdraw savings - and that s if you request it before 8PM God help you if you do it on a Friday due to some sort of emergency I tried to withdraw on Friday at 19 38 and I m still waiting for my funds at 09 41 on Monday Advisor on the phone said it can take up to 17 00 Again thank God it s not some sort of financial emergency I will be withdrawing the rest of my money and closing the account and soon as the above withdrawal comes through

Dreadful outdated online application

Dreadful outdated online application Then had to take id into a branch week later still no account log in Rang up spoke to very helpful member of staff said I would get a activation code asap Next day call from Leeds said can i reregister as problems at their end Lost all faith in this company in this day and age online should be straightforward not take 2 weeks to open an account

Savings Accounts never become operational

Opened an online savings account LBS then asks for a doctor or similar professional to countersign 2 forms of ID and POST back to them I took the alternative and went to the branch 30 miles away and they confirmed the ID Branch staff in Glasgow were really nice to me and my baby The online account then advised a code would come in the post This was never received I asked for a replacement code came 3 days later Logged in and there is no sort code for the account for you to credit it Contacted via online banking 3 or 4 days later a response came confirming the sort code I sent 100 to make sure it landed in the account and they have just closed the account and you cannot complain whilst logged in as you have no active accounts I ve just complained via email chasing the missing 100 but it is clear they do not want to pay the advertised interest rates to anyone It even states they prefer CHEQUES to credit your account The processes are in my opinion deliberately archaic to ensure savings only customers never get set up However they can officially appear at the top of MSE savings pages and generally promote the business Try somewhere else even if the rates are lower This has been over a month trying to open the most basic savings account

LBS sent out letters reducing interest

LBS sent out letters reducing interest rate on existing isa then when you try to open a higher rate online account the web site just loops asking time and time again to log in Called them and they say their website is too busy as they have sent out letters reducing interest rates So they create a problem that they have not prepared for or are not interested in preparing for

The member of staff who called provided an exemplary service today She was friendly helpful and concise She gave us all the information we required and dealt with our business effectively and quickly Thank you
