Better rates elsewhere

The application process and creating an online account were simple enough and whilst I was initially attracted to the idea of a 5 cash ISA I realise now it wasn t the right product for me as I can earn a certain amount of interest outside of an ISA without it being taxable I think LBS could have done better in terms of explaining which product would be best I ve since opened a Regular Savings account with First Direct at 7 interest The online portal experience needs a real refresh Quite old school and not terribly exciting

Good service

Branch manager was friendly helpful and knowledgeable Only downside was she was tied up with another customer when I went in and the cashier suggested coming back later in the day When I asked when the cashier said they didn t have appointments Fortunately the manager became free at that moment but it seems pretty daft telling people to come back on the off-chance and being unable to make an appointment That could go on forever and I doubt many customers would bother to come back a third time

A very difficult website

After difficulty using the Leeds Building Society website on 2 separate occasions I finally resorted to ringing Costa was unfailingly friendly and helpful He resolved my instructions for a maturing account and identified the problem I was having It was not my fault Therefore 5 stars for Costa and 2 stars for the LBS

Good Telephone answering services

Leeds Building Society offered a better customers services than many big banks I had email them about a problem using online The reply was within 48 hours Then a member of staff Alan called He was exceptionally courteous and did his best to address the problem I have also used the telephone services and one can get through within a reasonable time From Su

Transfer of savings to new accounts

I wanted to transfer monies from a maturing account to an online saver I found parts of the online application confusing and telephoned to query The call centre operative was helpful but as proved 3 days later gave me several points of incorrect information However Leeds contacted me within 3 days and Yemi was the ultimate professional in rectifying mistakes thereby retaining me as a customer and enabling me to complete the processes successfully Many thanks Yemi for your patience and professionalism

Recently changed mortgage product as about to go onto variable rate Informed well in advance by LBS and options explained Chose to stay with LBS and easy to access available products as an existing customer Had one query which we used telephone support to seek answer and it was answered very professionally and friendly Easy to understand Product completed quickly with follow up letter received and email Third time we have used and would recommend

How about offering interest monthly

We use Leeds Building Society because they used to offer excellent savings rates they have a Branch local to us Our one complaint is that savings interest is only paid annually For the past few years we have leaned towards the likes of Coventry B S Kent Reliance as they both offer monthly interest payments Excellent polite service from your Harrison in your Banbury Branch today

Cardiff City Centre branch Kiwi

I visited the Cardiff City Centre Branch yesterday to get a 3 year bond that had matured transferred to a 2 year bond The assistant Michelle made the whole experience a joy when compared to my online attempt Please keep branches open and employ nice people Michelle is from Christchurch New Zealand and a pleasure to deal with

Good humans cryptic website

After considerable confusion trying to make a deposit online I called the helpline Very helpful indeed we walked me through the required steps very clearly The humans are excellent even if the website is very cryptic Meanwhile good rates of interest offered across a range of different accounts

Both Paige and Emma Derby branch made finding a new mortgage product a stress free experience Paige was very very patient with me and explained everything in a non-patronising manner She was pleasantly professional and I m very grateful Thank you
