Faulty Product
I ordered a 4 pendant lights at the start of April which were shown as being in stock I was then contacted to say that the items wouldn t be in stock until late May which then slipped to early June mid June and finally late June this wasn t an issue in itself and is not the basis of the one star review I m giving this company Upon fitting the lights we noticed that one of the glass shades had a small bubble in it while the other three were perfect I contacted Customer Services and they were very helpful and organised for a new item to be checked and sent out to us - had this been the end of the story then this would be a 5 star review Unfortunately the replacement shade was significantly worse than the one that it had replaced - there were so many bubbles and blemishes on the glass that they were impossible to count I got in touch with Customer Services again expecting the same high standard of service I d previously received - that wasn t the case I received a response stating that the shade is hand blown and therefore blemishes and bubbles should be expected - nowhere on the item description does it state either of these things and as far as I m concerned the fact that they replaced the original shade for the exact same reason is an acknowledgement of it being a defect Add to that the fact that the other three shades are perfect and the explanation just doesnt add up They also advised that goods must be inspected within 48 hours of receipt I was a few days behind that in reporting it - I appreciate that this may be the case if the item is damaged which could have been through the fault of the supplier or the customer but the issue we had was very much a defect in an item that had supposedly spent a couple of days being quality checked at their end Additionally - I was advised with the first replacement that the reason for the 48hr window was to give the best chance of them sourcing a replacement - the item I have is still in stock on their website so I don t understand why this would be an issue I m now left in a position where I have a basically unusable item and will be almost 100 out of pocket if I have to purchase another As a defective item I would expect that the company would be required to refund or replace it under the Consumer Credit Act -as it is not of satisfactory quality - and I will be raising a dispute via my credit card company to that effect

Purchased 3 lights from this company via ebay we wanted them shipped Portugal and had them shipped to freight forwarding company we have used for 6 years Over those 6 years we have had 100s of parcels delivered from amazon next debenhams john lewis dunelms ebay and asda We have never had a parcel go missing in all that time The freight forwarding company know us well because its a very small community of expats living in the area of Portugal that we live in i should imagine they know most people who use their company because their business is bringing small parcels and deliveries from the UK on a weekly basis This lighting company used DPD who say they delivered the parcel to the company who s office was CLOSED at the time of delivery The driver then got someone called Dave to sign for said parcel The seller has not provided proof of signature and the GPS of the driver says he was in the vicinity of the company but then so are other businesses within the GPS location The seller has accused us of having the lights delivered to Portugal via the freight forwarding company and that we are cahoots basically saying we have stolen the lights and we don t want to pay for them We have been buying off the internet for 15 years and have never ever been accused of stealing ever I could not recommend this company because I think their behaviour in dealing with this issue has been outrageous Of course paypal will find in this sellers favour because the parcel has been signed for but who the heck is DAVE How paypal can call DAVE a signature is beyond me but they will The seller has provided no proof of signature and he said we made a mistake when we mentioned DHL in the paypal claim but no where did we mention DHL and yet he has given a DHL tracking number which of course when you put it in to their tracking box it says no parcel can be found and we get the same results when we put it into the DPD tracking We phoned DPD and they said they would be investigating so which is it DPD or DHL the seller is the only one who has mentioned DHL on his paypal claim Instead of saying to us that he would look into it and see if he could find out what has happened to our parcel he is saying we are trying to get out of paying for the lights thats the 150 we had already paid for said lights so we have no money and no lights disgusting The items were found 3 weeks later but not because this company helped in any way in fact they sent us two different courier companies tracking numbers namely DPD and DHL then blamed the confusion of who the items had been shipped by on me Never once in any of my emails did i mention DHL Secondly I purchased the lights from lights4living not Richard Hathaway which is the company name they were shipped from If you do not write the correct company name they have been shipped from then of course there is going to be confusion The owner doesn t not know the meaning of customer service rude and arrogant

Avoid You have been warned
I worked at this company for 2 days and I can positively say they were 2 of the worst days of my life The two bosses are the rudest people I ve ever met in my life They tried to say I damaged something and tried to avoid paying me I took my money at the end anyway

I ordered in good faith
I ordered in good faith a light fitting I was delighted with my purchase and after a long consideration chose normal delivery and not next day as next day prices were high I then received an email after a few missed calls from them advising the item is out of stock and did I want to wait or want a refund I replied expressing my dissatisfaction as if out of stock the site shouldn t have allowed me to order and have agreed to wait I suggested due to this it would be nice for the inconvenience to be given a goodwill gesture and I wasn t expecting much but this was refused and again confirmation sought if I wanted a refund or the item Such customer care is poor and as a Senior Manager myself in customer service am not surprised they have such a low trust pilot Reduce your customers efforts and they will come back time and time again leave positive reviews and recommend the service Just a few tips in an ever competitive market I like many have selected you to purchase my item from for which am now left disappointed Yours Sincerely still waiting for my item

Excremental customer service
Wanted to order 2 light fitments totalling about 100 Website would not process any of my cards checked and nothing wrong with any of them I got in touch with the so-called Customer Services and spoke to Becky who could not care less and offered no solution I then asked to close the account I had created and was told that this would prevent me from placing future orders or registering again I decided to proceed with this as their website would not let me place the order in the first place and Customer Services showed no interest in helping to resolve the issue - which was with their website and or payment system I will now look to order with Pagazzi as while they may be more expensive their website is functional and they do not provide the excremental customer service I experienced from Lights4Living I suppose you get what you pay for

Poor after purchase no help or advice
Purchased two 3404-4CC Hanna 4 Light Crystal Flush Ceiling Light In Chrome with its recommended dimmable bulbs On installation the units made a buzzing noise when on full light Called them for help and they recommended I change the dimmable switch with something more suited though my switch is a high quality newly installed switch I tried various switches with the same result Called again to get help as to a different set of bulbs or a different switch that can get rid of the buzzing noise but the only recommendation is to get an electrician to resolve the issue and replace what is necessary No help or advice they can not recommend different bulbs or a different switch Poor after service from this company
