Poor for the money

Barely warm showers water everywhere both in the toilet blocks which weren t very clean and all round the pool bar reception area had to step over a mound of birds poop to get into mens toilets not washed for a week Bins only at reception to save anyone having to empty them resulting in a half mile walk to dispose of your rubbish Simply not worth the money Need to up their game

Booked for 2 nights but couldn t wait

Booked for 2 nights but couldn t wait to leave When we booked there was no mention of a food music festival on the Love2stay grounds on the events section of their website We were only informed of it via email 2 days prior to our arrival We did consider cancelling but at such short notice couldn t find any availability locally So on the Saturday from around 11am until 9pm the site had to endure extremely loud music whether you like it our not We did take a wonder down to the dog walking area only 2 drunken females urinating there classy Love2stay is one of the more expensive sites to stay on but I really can t see how this is justified Yes the touring pitches are a generous size and the toilet facilities were lovely and there are several activities you can do during your stay however when at full capacity it s quite apparent there isn t enough availability Now for the bad bits Although it quite clearly states in the welcome pack to stick to the main roads on site and not walk across pitches we found we were continually being invaded by a packs of kids and sometimes their parents who thought it wasn t any problem Again there are signs dotted around the sites stating that no electricity scooters areti be used the place is akin to the wacky racers All great fun until someone gets knocked over The dog walk is around a 4 minute walk from the touring pitches so you ll find dogs through no fault of their own will do their business way before they get there usually on someone s pitch or on the road luckily most owner s pick it up however when they do they ll find the majority of the dog waste bins overflowing All the hand sanitising dispensers are empty as if Love2stay have given up on covid and personal hygiene completely It is safe to say we won t be returning

So Disappointed And Left Early

Left 2 stars and this is only because of the shower and toilet facilities which are amazing and very clean I have just got back home after ending our stay 1 day earlier because i couldn t cope with issues we experienced every day Staff - Very rude and couldn t care attitude at the reception Every issue raise felt as if everything was too much hassle General Manager was the only one who did attempt to help but constant issues was simply too much for something we paid so much for hoping of a nice relaxing holiday WiFi- Premium Wifi didnt work and still waiting for our 10 refund Basic WiFi was shocking and ended up using my mobile phone data Biggest issue of all was their ridiculous booking system for the free activites that meant you had to log into your account every morning at 0800 to book 45 minute timeslots This has to be one of the worst systems ive ever used Very slow and if you didn t log on for 0800 you ran the risk of no activities So many people ignoring the booking slots and simply just turning up with either the wrong bands or no bands at all Not policed at all and no surprise this has been suspended for this weekend but too late for us This was announced just after 0800 this morning Too many children having a free for all in the 3 jacuzzis suppose to be a limit of 5 people and only from your household bubble but yesterday all three were full of kids and one actually had 8 inside it despite people queuing for them the kids just ignored them and continued to sit in there for an excess time We was told by the manager the reason for this booking system was due to Shrewsbury Council placing covid restrictions on the place However reception told us it was due to a poll conducted amongst the guests another example of who is right and who is lying I heard so many good things about this site and gutted our experience has been like this Every day we raised our issues but simply had enough For the cost of staying it simply isn t good enough and plenty of sites offering more for less

Stayed in a Safari Tent last week

Stayed in a Safari Tent last week Upon arriving the tent was absolutely beautiful and quirky although having to park away from the tent and carry things to the tent without ant trolleys or such like was slightly disappointing given that everything else appeared to have been thought through When checking in they neglected to tell us that there was building work immediately behind us apart from when they phoned to let us know that the builders were having a delivery the next morning at 7 30 am As expected this time of year the weather was colder so we made full use of the log burner and therefore asked for more logs to be delivered which didn t happen no logs arrived and when we checked the cost of additional logs were 20 per bag As we paid over 1000 one would expect not to have to pay for extra logs There was free wi fi although we could upgrade for an extra 10 As we didn t upgrade and had to keep logging into the wi fi our party used up all the data We didn t use the wi fi excessively as we were in the very nice hot tub and out and about exploring The staff whilst not unpleasant appeared to be very bland they spoke when they had to but didn t go out of their way to chat or exchange pleasantries and as we were the only tent occupied at one point maybe a bit more social interaction with us would have been appreciated The cafe in reception was very limited in what was served mainly pizza WHICH WAS VERY NICE INDEED but the staff there could have at least smiled even if they didn t want to speak to anyone Again they weren t rude but they weren t far off Having stayed in Safari tents before ones that weren t as luxurious as these even if the price was the same for the overall experience ambience and friendliness I would go to the others and prefer to forsake the hot tub I don t think that I will be rushing back to Love2stay

Great site but a LOT of niggles

Receptionist is not friendly same one across all 5 days Toilet shower block always needs an access card which is ridiculous considering you are given 2 for 6 people God knows why you need a pass to go to the toilet Gym staff unfriendly as they only connect with the regulars Showers in the main block you cannot control the temperature - it is set regardless if you want hot or cold Not enough toilet cubicles - queuing for a good 20 minutes each morning as there are only 4 cubicles in the mens No plugs in the sinks God only knows how you re meant to do the washing up Had to do the whole lot wasting water under a constantly running tap Good things were - catering staff were very friendly and accommodating Quality of food was really good Loved the pool and the hot tubs

Grossly overpriced for facilities available

For the pricing very poor facilities As a tourer the water from the borehole ran out for three hours No toilets no showers no water The toilet block was designed to look good but was not functional no caddies in the shower cubicles the water ran through from adjacent cubicles when available No separate wash basin closets The hair dryer was broken Badly designed toilet facilities The chemical toilet wash and cleaning equipment was broken No fishing permitted in the lake for fear of hooks No shop for essentials such as bread or milk For 50 night simply not worth the money

Rotting grass 16th June

Stayed for 3 nights from 16th June Chose the pitch from our last visit in February Weather was kind but unfortunately there was a lot of composting grass cuttings a short distance from dp15 The rotten smell meant we could not sit outside for long or eat outside It also had attracted a significant number of flies We had already pitched our awning so weren t prepared to move For 60 per night this is disgraceful and it s very unlikely we will be returning
C

Mediocre

1 People allowed to park anywhere on the pitch despite the rules With campers pulling in to pitches facing horizontally with headlights into other units 2 Heated Leisure pool for all ages is nothing but a glorified paddling pool for toddlers At a depth on the deep end of 0 65m Alternative for adults is a freshwater pond to swim in that is literally an ice cold dunk pool 3 Wi-Fi not available at any location on pitch despite being advertised 4 Electric scooters bikes go carts and even an electric scrambler being used on site despite rules stating they aren t allowed 5 Pitches overridden with cars up to 3 parked on other pitches despite rules stating 1 vehicle per pitch It feels like you are staying in a car park 6 Toilet cassette cleaning facility advertised as a 2 00 charge per use in the brochure However on arrival at the cassette station the cost is double this 7 Poor communication to guests as to opening times of pizzeria hours were extended over summer however this was not conveyed to guests via email or upon check in 8 Grass in need of a cut not once during our stay of 8 days did we see any workers maintaining the land 9 Hedgerows at side of pitch and rear full of stingy nettles and brambles which are poor when the site is aimed at catering towards children 10 Every night for the last 3 nights loud music has started at midnight with heavy bass Apparently this was a festival pre planned nearby Again - this pre planned festival and anticipated noise pollution was not conveyed to guests - especially those with young children 11 Fridge in cafe not working for the entire stay - all they had to offer was warm beer 12 The place is absolutely overridden with wasps Pitches of good size and nice play area However as advertised as a 5 resort and for the cost this does not live up to expectations If the wardens and managers enforced the rules they could improve this site
