Unsatisfactory overall

Be very sure you want to use enough facilities here to make it worth their very high prices for touring pitches It s a big site but the owners have really crammed in too much accommodation pitches etc a huge variety of them into the space making it feel overcrowded Hot water in the showers could not keep up with demand during the busy half-term period Not acceptable at this price point Wild-swimming pond is a good idea but the area cordoned-off for use when we were there was tiny much smaller than that shown on their website photo Unaccompanied children using the hot tubs despite CCTV and Reception being close-by Food in cafe mediocre Bins for dog-mess often overflowing One caravan pitch away from our pitch thankfully had a big wood fire not a BBQ in an open metal brazier with flames and sparks sometimes leaping 5 feet high or more Clearly a safety hazard Did not report this as Reception was unmanned and I could not be bothered to try and find out how to make a report as it was at the end of our rather unsatisfactory stay Suggest staff patrol periodically especially during peak season times as they do on Club sites

So much potential but for the price we wouldn t go back

Booked a long weekend trip away with my partner teen daughter and our frenchie Brilliant location and upon arrival we couldn t believe what a steal we d had it looked lovely but towards the end of our stay we very nearly went home early The Safari Tent zip had been zip tied one side quite tight meaning that the fabric was a stretch to do up on the otherside our dog had to have a harness and lead on 24 7 because he managed to escape through the gap at the bottom because of this we spent as much time out in the city as we could The no noise after 10pm isnt managed well at all every night we had people partying until gone midnight The wifi signal was non existent and same for the tv i felt a few puzzles or boardgames would have been a lovely touch The shower was freezing cold and awful water pressure couldn t wash your hair dosnt matter what time of day you tried it the shower plug was really show at draining because its so filthy you end up with black bits of grime all over your feet On checkout i thought id strip the beds to help out housekeeping as i do wheres we stay only to find a huge wee patch on the mattress protector in the main bed there is absolutely no way housekeeping didn t see this The kitchen is full of everything you need although its a tiny freezer in an under the counter fridge with a freezer at the top wish we knew this before we brought lots of frozen food also the towels weren t replaced our whole stay The grounds were very clean and tidy the hottub checker is very discreet and polite i loved the fact they have free dog agility course too great fun Overall very disappointed with the stay and wouldn t recommend or stay again ourselves unfortunately

The park is great

The park is great good size pitches clean modern facilities staff were great A couple of things not so great Theres nothing for toddlers to play on in the park they really need to add some play equipment for younger children Also there was only 1 activity for under 8- Woodland school Campfire Cookery so we booked our 2 boys in 8 each it was basically 20 minutes of toasting marshmallows on the campfire 16 to toast marshmallows We do that at home in the garden Campfire cookery is a very adventurous title

Entertainment poor

The site was clean well maintained as were all amenities My only concern was the entertainment We paid 10 per person for Saturday night entertainment which only lasted just over 2 hours with the breaks included it was clear there people in there for the same entertainment who hadn t paid There was no one even checking it was just a free for all We have requested a refund are still waiting to hear Also i found reception staff staff around site extremely rude unhelpful

Great concept but let down by the

Great concept but let down by the detail Lovely amenity block but no hot water there for large periods of both days We had bought a pizza voucher but then discovered that pizzas were only available until 5 30pm The pizza was really nice but as a retired couple we would have liked to eat later Pitches well set out and great until a large family came nearby and used the grass behind the pitches as a bike downhill slalom There will be a nasty accident there one day if this isn t stopped The dog exercise area and agility area were good if distant from the touring pitches where most dogs were staying The site seems biased towards those with young families which is a pity

Good variety of activities

Good variety of activities good location good facilities but good ends here because the staff is completely oblivious incompetent to advise on anything not related to where they work Also big minus sauna was off for 2 couple of days and the staff said that we have to ask them to switch it on After asking them they said it would be on for my entire stay yet to learn that it was off on the last day Very annoying because one of my reasons to stay there was to enjoy sauna and it was not straightforward Children under 16 was not allowed to a gym which was another nasty surprise

Disappointed

Well we came home Saturday and I have to say we were slightly disappointed We did not find the stay value for money particularly for two people and the website does not give enough information about the amenities or the surrounding area We were advised that we could use the lake for paddle boarding after 5pm This was one of the reasons we booked However we were dismayed to find that the lake is nothing more than a large pond It s fine for beginners lessons but not fit for much more The wash facilities while very nice looking were also limited Only 1 hook in some of the shower cubicles so nowhere to hang dry clothes separate to wet towels or raincoats Nice body wash but there was nowhere for one to rest one s own should you require to use your own I prefer my own shampoo and conditioner but there was no shelf to accommodate this Also nowhere to hang a wash scrunchie flannel wash mitt There were no cubicles in which to have a private wash unless you paid extra Nowhere to hang towels wash bags etc at the wash basins No litter bins in the pitch area These are my observations after visiting many sites both in the UK and in main land Europe We have stayed at sites where eco products were provided including washing up liquid Also sites with underfloor heating lake etc We are happy to pay extra for top class sites and have on many a trip However Love2stay fell short for us We were looking forward to staying as a treat but felt slightly deflated Due to the cost we were expecting more 40 a night is a lot for a couple but 60 for the Friday was far too much for what is provided Maybe value for money for those with children but certainly not for a couple Maybe better value in the summer months when the pool etc can be enjoyed

Noisy

We booked a 2 night stay in a safari tent the tent itself was fantastic but unfortunately our stay was completely ruined by noisy neighbours Whilst the glamping site is advertised as family friendly with a noise curfew they also accept group bookings which means that the noise cut off is not really observed Security attempted to get our neighbours to hush a bit but they were ignored and the singing and shouting continued into the small hours not great when staying with small children The site did move us to a cabin however this was essentially a downgrade with no help to move or recompense The tent was so lovely and the kids were really upset to move which was so sad but we d not slept and couldn t risk another night there Something to note is there is no privacy in the hot tubs in the barns and neighbour s dogs come wandering into your garden area I didn t appreciate being sniffed by a rottweiler Incidentally we were also woken by rave music at midnight in this property the whole stay was like a weird endurance test I d love to return to a safari tent in the future but with the pitches being so close and with no guarantee of considerate neighbours I m not sure we will It s not a cheap stay
