Sympathy for reviews below - similar experience

I sympathise with the other people who have made the effort to post on here Recently returning from a week in Andorra Soldeu we saw very similar problems We booked through Iglu Ski who incidentally wrote to ask for feedback - well I have just written that cc d Neilson customer services and lets see what happens Overall for us the holiday was great Resort Hotel Ski conditions but the Neilson Rep experience was bad Do you have a name you can share I wont post my email here just yet lets see if they Neilson can manage a reply without attempting to re apportion the blame - as I see below - which really angers me I wont bore you with what industry I work in but we use customer feedback to react change and improve The customer is king Perhaps Neilson need to consider feedback as positive - that some customers care enough to write and explain rather than complain not in silence informally to their friends colleagues and relatives bad mouthing the company At least raised complains can be addressed or am I missing something here

Unpolished for the price

My family and I paid around 11 000 for a week at Chalet Ruby in Les Deux Alpes through Neilson Holidays For the price I would have expected and have previously booked better holidays The transfer from Grenoble took 7 hours due to bad weather conditions Neilson did not have any contingency water in the coach and there were no service station stops for toilets so guests ended up dehydrated and peeing on the side of the road The chalet hosts were very nice but the chalet itself wasn t in very good shape the hot tub was out of order all week some light fittings were missing there was rarely wood provided for the fire the flooring in places needed replacing The transfer home was 30 minutes late and too small for all the guests and their luggage Overall for the money spent I think there are better holidays out there and we won t be booking with Neilson in the future

Poor experience

Unfortunately not a great experience with Neilson We went to Les Menuires for a skiing holiday over Easter 2018 Our resort rep was helpful the first day but we didn t hear from him again during our stay You d think that the rep might send a text or leave a note at the hotel desk asking about whether you re enjoying your holiday The worst was the transfer arrangements for our return to Grenoble A decrepit coach arrived late apparently the driver got lost enroute - with the heating broken and turned to full blast and no openable windows or vents Some passengers had been on the oven bus for an hour while the driver apparently sought directions from all and sundry The Neilson rep apologised profusely and eventually were put on a smaller mini bus and taken down to Moutiers where we were transferred to another coach for the trip to Grenoble It s stuff like this that mars the end of a holiday You would expect that these kind of big tour operators would charter better quality vehicles and more knowledgeable drivers I wouldn t recommend Neilson Ski

Good tennis but eat out

In a nutshell the poor food experience undermined a potentially good tennis holiday in an excellent location You need to hire a car to be able to dine out and experience this area Do your own research for dining out as the staff are not allowed to recommend

Great staff at resort but awful travel

Great staff at resort but Neilson changed the flight times that we had originally committed to Getting home at 0430hrs in the morning with two 4 year olds is no fun If customers book a holiday with specific flight times they do it for a good reason I won t be using Neilsons again

Good Holiday - Shame about the Neilson

Holiday to Mayrhofen which is a lovely place with great skiing The problems started when our friends room door was damaged whilst sleeping No sympathy or support was given by our Rep Banksy rather a forcefully and clueless approach was taken to scam money from us This unprofessional rep lied at every opportunity and did not even consider helping us as the Hotel threatened police Thankfully another rep sorted us out coming in with a level headed approach the matter was resolved even if we were extorted 280 This is a common trend with Neilson trying to get us to pay for anything preying on everyone s lack of knowledge of the area Trying to charge for a bus journey which we took for free from around the corner offering the return of our ski passes which we got refunded at the kiosk and overpriced EVERYTHING Overall loved Mayrhofen wish we were with Crystal

We had a great beach holiday with Neilson in Greece this summer and booked a ski holiday at Hotel Aalborg in les Deux Alpes on the back of it Christmas week and the food and service is terrible - think 1970 s works canteen Greasy breakfasts and everything else reheated from frozen Waiting an hour for the next course on Christmas Day Restaurant understaffed and disorganised Never ever again a ski holiday with Neilson

Neilson baia de mori Neilson is advertised as a beach sports holiday Neilson rent a tiny bit of beach which it tries to squeeze hundreds of people into This beach is inundated with tons of seaweed making swimming a disgusting experience The beach is unpleasant and smelly due to the rotting sea grass Today the beach was inundated with swell making sailing and windsurfing very difficult Do not come here

Shocking security issues

The resort is set in a little bay and is quite isolated There is a small village and some restaurants some ten minutes away Our room was clean good aircon and comfortable bed although some of the bedding was torn The lifts in the main building are very small and frequently broke down The food was buffet style and although plenty of choice it was akin to eating tasteless school dinners The meat and fish were usually overcooked Four nights during the week the dinner is included the Friday night BBQ was 30 Euros per head The staff in the restaurant were always busy and kept the surfaces and floor clean - a tricky task with so many guests and lots of youngsters The Neilson team were very good friendly and helpful The programme for adults and children was comprehensive The quiz night highlighted that the bar is small and several guests could not find a seat thus could not join in The beach area for swimming is very small and stony There are some sun loungers on the stony and grassy area There were lots of cigarette ends and some broken glass SAFETYAdjacent to the resort is a camp site and guests from there made their way into the resort either via the sea climbing over the wire fence or simply walking in through a side access road next to the children s centre They would use the sun loungers thus preventing some Neilson guests from using them They were seen in the pool in the gym which is in the hotel building playing volley ball and having lunch in the restaurant Some guests took videos as they too were concerned about the lack of security These issues were reported but it appears the hotel is responsible for security and do not appear to be taking it seriously Some of the Neilson staff said it has been a longstanding problem Clearly a simple resolution is wristbands It was our first Neilson experience we have enjoyed many holidays with Mark Warner and Sunsail It is likely to be our last with Neilson due to the lack of security and other issues set out above

Jewel in the Messini crown doesn t shine so bright for windsurfers airline partner awful too

First Neilson beach club experience although I have been on several others with their competitors The jewel in the crown should be the beach front unfortunately for me this is where Neilson let themselves down A novice holiday only windsurfer this part of the beach was never and I mean never staffed meaning you had to wrestle your own equipment out of racks and trudge them down to the waterfront making 2 trips one for the sail and one for the board In the week I was there I never saw one Neilsons staff member help anybody with windsurfing kit On day 1 I went to book out kit my UJ and asked for some help as I was a total novice the young lady looked around there was no one about and she told me she didn t have a radio so couldn t contact anyone That was that On day 2 I pointed this out to the book out desk and on day 4 made my point to the guest services manager relaying a conversation I had had with a dad teaching his 2kids who had to make 6 trips to get all the kit he needed telling me he was utterly exhausted - nothing changed with my pointing out this to the manager and staff All the staff are grouped around the sailing paddle board areas I get this as windsurfing equipment is heavy and awkward and involves a 40yard haul to the water I have seen this before but a visible and motivated beach boss has always ensured this is the exception Not at Messini I only saw the beach boss once at the briefing no sightings in the full week I was there and I spent most of my time on the beach I have been used to staff on other holidays actively trying to make sure you don t have to worry about kit so this was a real surprise Really disappointing The rest of the resort was lovely nice room nice pool and good food although ordering drinks in the restaurant could be a bit hit or miss as there wasn t really a system for showing you to your seat as a result you could end up waiting a long time to place a drinks order Still a good holiday but the beachfront experience not anywhere as good as the others I have been on and so much more disappointing given that I made management aware with no impact Worthwhile offering a word about the charter flight company EnterAir A polish outfit and probably the poorest I have experienced service was slow no ice drinks running out etc in both directions not a good start or end to the holiday I dare say Neilsons save a bit of money using EnterAir isn t doing their reputation any good a bad choice
