Overpriced and no industry recognized certifications

I feel robbed Where is the support I put in the hours I put in the work I completed all the milestones yet NGT left me out to dry as I have heard next to nothing from their side

Training was useless the second half it was all follow along even after they advertised it wouldn t be that

Came in with high expectations a desire to charge ahead and take control of my future and finally get the ship back on course and I was slowed down held back ignored when I reached out to staff for help in staying on track I had no choice but to switch priorities and step away to address more pressing issues and I was kicked out of my cohort for it I hear whisperings of people wanting to work with me and fix things but if you were truly that committed to my success and willing to work with me you shouldn t have let it get to this point to begin with Frankly I just don t care right now to come back Instead of being treated like the individual I am I was treated as just another student number

DO NOT go by the Trustpilot reviews Most of them are created from fake emails that have a SINGLE review ONLY I decided to take their course last cohort after reading about them but I believe you can get a lot more value by doing other relevant courses that have actual market value recognition I would totally suggest you to avoid this platform and investing the kind of time or money The biggest problem is lower standards of course instructors and terrible support staff If this is what I wanted I would rather do a self-paced program from Coursera Udemy

I was a former student I had identified early in my program that I wouldn t be able to complete the program without going bankrupt I reached out to no less than SIX PEOPLE from multiple teams at multiple leadership levels for assistance Only 1 person career counselor tried to help 2 people Tobiah Walter FORMER DIRECTOR OF STUDENT SUCCESS- let that oxyMORON sink in real quick and Vamsee Kandimalla FORMER instructor refused to help me 3 people Jacob Hess FOUNDER Cameron Dudley IT Career Development Executive and some lower admissions rep all ignored my requests for assistance I gave them SIX MONTHS advance notice that I was going to drop out due to bankruptcy if I hadn t focused on landing a job when I started to do so this would have happened I avoided bankruptcy after they threw me out of the program for failing to complete it There was no motivation by them to accelerate my learning path and no desire to accommodate me trying to catch up But I m still on the hook for 25 000 of education that I never received This whatever you want to call this brand is absolutely disgusting There are plenty of other self-learning programs out there that don t charge you your first-born and have better support services in place I expected better from a veteran-founded organization as a former veteran myself

Career services Kim - our career coach and our main instructor Shirl were both extremely phenomenal to us as students They both genuinely care about their jobs and their students Kim made time for students during hours I ve never seen a career coach offer services Shirl gave us learning material that he didn t have to He stayed late in class some days and even attended a few classes during non class days to help us catch up He never made us feel silly for any questions asked There was an instructor the main cyber instructor who left our cohort very early on We students were never given an explanation or heads up This left class in a chaotic mess most days We had a pen tester instructor who done his best I m sure but he s not really a direct instructor to students when it comes to power point so I didn t gain much from him because I had no experience in pen testing so it was quite hard to follow until the very end There was another instructor who came in shortly after the main cyber instructor left He had no idea where we were in class what material we had learned what our currently skill level was as a class and didn t really know what he should ve been teaching most days Probably wasn t all his fault when he was thrown into it and not given much because I believe behind the scenes there s a HUGE lack of communication with the instructors But I didn t gain much from his teachings either Most days I was active on Project Ares or TryHackMe while he was instructing I learned so much more from both of those At the very end while we were going through death by power point for the security exam the program should ve had an actually sec instructor Poor Shirl done the absolute best that he could so grateful for him However we would and future students will benefit from an instructor whose primary mission is sec course material and teachings If I had not studied my head off for numerous hours every day attended private study sessions with some fellow students and used the review guide Henry provides to us I probably wouldn t have passed the sec It s far from an easy exam The program needs to take its difficulty much more serious than they do Overall we are overpaying by a lot for this program We got a small USB thing in a packet at the beginning and I m pretty irritated having to pay for that when we never got instructions on how to use it Yes I get that one of the instructors made a video presentation but there could ve been live instruction too WE ARE PAYING FOR IT I don t necessary regret the program because it has given me some skills I will use in the near future but I don t appreciate they promote it as upon graduation we will get you into a high paying cyber role All of that is fake Only way for that to happen is if one has previous experience I m paying for career services and our instructor Shirl s amazingness as a teacher That s what I will say is worth the total of the program upon completion They are the two who deserve a 10 star review

The course offered little more than what can be found for free or severely less expensive from sites like YouTube Udemy Professor Messer etc The instructors were great However the content was not worth the price of admission I would strongly advise against paying what they are asking for the content received The entire program felt very thrown together and poorly planned executed There was a small section of virtual cyber games simulation exercises which is the only reason I m giving 2 stars instead of 1 The simulations were great in context but the performance of the platform these simulations were run on was abysmal Save yourself the money and get the free cheaper options If money is not an issue go with WGU or another accredited institution

For me I would have greatly benefited from a hands on type of onboarding process I received my welcome kit 4 weeks after I started my classes Not a huge deal but I realized after I rec d it that it contained tools resources I could have used in some of the classes I already completed The class content seems to be good However I feel like I am on an island trying to navigate some of the more difficult content by myself I will persevere but I can see how some people would get extremely frustrated Thank you for your response You are correct I received one email and one VM from the student success coordinator The VM went directly into my spam so and I was never aware of the call Yes I did find the email with the scheduler earlier today and yes I have set up that call Please note a 2 5 hour window between 10am-12 30pm during the same business hours most people work makes it a bit difficult to schedule But when you want something bad enough you make it happen Thank you again for your response I will fully utilize the call to address my needs and fill in the gaps so I can continue on and be one of your success stories

The people at NGT Academy are on a positive mission I feel they are genuine and truly want to help to change the lives of their students I ll start with the good the LMS is pretty decently organized and makes for a game like experience I enjoyed the milestones and minor successes along the way The content is very rich on the network side and I was happy with the foundation knowledge provided The attempt at fully rounding out the experience like a university with career services classes was a nice feature I have a positive feeling about the people who work ed there and the knowledge they have The bad the security program didn t feel fleshed out The ISA is great for some but for myself who paid in full felt like I didn t quite get the value for how much it cost However they did provide a bunch of additional courses for free which eased that point of frustration The course had a lot of on-the-fly changes and ultimately went beyond the timeline they promised This negatively affected my timeline for seeking employment Additionally due to the extended timeline the program s LMS features ceased to function leaving a few stones unturned I put a lot of time into my projects and didn t receive any feedback I know I did well on them but it would have been nice to know more details and thoughts from the instructors Finally it felt as though NGT Academy doesn t have the ability to place students in entry level jobs like they believe they can The cybersecurity industry in general has a problem with entry level jobs not truly being entry level but many most students believed they d be in high demand after completing the course It simply isn t the case and isn t the fault of NGT Academy but they should set expectations accordingly The last thing I ll say is I hope NGT Academy figures it out--irons out the kinks--and helps the IT industry fill positions with well trained professionals
