Very poor customer service

Very poor customer service It should not take up to 2 weeks to grade the work that was turned in and then another week to return it back to the student If the school is that busy then they should consider hiring more teachers so the turn time is not so long And also it seems take 2-5 days for the student advisors to answer an email

Take your AutoCAD class elsewhere

I was so excited to start learning AutoCAD but was quickly let down There is basically no one teaching you except for the book the only instructor videos are in the first section- they were actually very helpful and I heavily relied on them because I m a visual learner The book taught 2017 AutoCAD but why would I want to learn such a dated version of an extremely involved program 2017 wasn t even available to download I had already purchased the class so I went with 2020 AutoCAD In the end I would never recommend this course Waste of my time and money I m sure NYIAD s other courses are fine

DISAPPOINTED

So I ve been searching for a good school and I thought NYIAD was a perfect fit Well I came out disappointed While they do have a good curriculum my Home Staging instructor Janet Ramin was the least bit helpful on answering a very important question Neither did she have ANY knowledge on my question do I need to stage a business or design it the way I like it - very simple She said she had no knowledge on that type of business - however she did tell me that this curriculum was about staging a home for sale But she did NOT provide me with any information on someone from the school who COULD help me I found her answer to be very dismissive and quite ignorant That did NOT make me want to pursue any kind of home staging certificate even though I only have two more payments to make on my account which is why I found this experience to be VERY disappointing No fun I give the school 2 stars although I m not even sure if they deserve THAT

I m currently doing the auto-cad course

I m currently doing the auto-cad course and it can get super complicated and it would be nice if we could of choose the type of drawings to do Like there are options for floor plans elevation plans rather than detail of a wheel or engineering drilling pipe and stuff I won t need

Content great online challenge

Content was great online challenge The online set-up has you jumping through different pages for each issue then when you perform you work you have to jump back through them all if you don t readily recall the answer to try to find it It greatly extended the time necessary to complete the projects for me They did update online to make it better but I still finally had to buy the books to more easily finish up and reference back to the content

Inconsistent

The material has contradictions that if you follow it you get deductions on your grade There are typos and occasionally the material doesn t match what is shown on a picture Getting different instructors to review projects is inconsistent

My experience was OK

My experience was OK I wish there were an easier way to submit projects I lost my momentum waiting for stuff to come back Also I found that some of the instructors seemed to give different or confusing feedback It s not quite accurate to say they contradicted each other but it was sort of in that vein sometimes Additionally I found some of the feedback to be a little basic - for example in my bedroom design I had included larger round tables flanking my bed because I wanted something a little different - the instructor said I needed to put traditional nightstands in because of storage My gut reaction to that is that the feedback is not very inspired I decided if they want basic I ll send them basic just to get a better grade Probably not the message you want students getting To be fair this instructor also gave me very relevant feedback on other aspects of the same project that I missed which is important to note Also it s not clear that I can actually call myself an interior designer as a result of completing this course since this certification isn t recognized by ASID and doesn t qualify me to sit for the NCIDQ exam So that s disappointing Overall it was helpful to get a taste of interior design but shouldn t be presented as giving you the qualifications to officially enter the world of interior design A graduate of this course can call themselves a decorator to be sure but that s not the same thing

Would like more instructor interaction

I know this is online but this is basically this is a self taught course Very little interaction with instructor which is disappointing Curriculum is good and highly relevant

Too hard to connect for help

Too hard to connect for help Test vs project not balanced Info is good but far too involved for introductory Hope to complete the course but not sure if time will permit Too many units in each chapter
