Best place for Outdoor Research Aksel Work Gloves is on the shelf in the store
We bought 3 pairs of Outdoor Research Aksel Work Gloves for Christmas presents for the boys in our house including myself Started wearing them on Christmas Used sparingly and mostly for snow blowing and driving in the car-- which is pretty light duty On a drive home the other day I see a big rip in the leather on the middle finger of my right hand And no I am not in the habit of using my middle finger much And I am left handed so most of the heavy use for gloves and stuff is on my left hand And this is a tear in the leather not a stitching problem I cannot for the life of me figure out when this happened or why Safe to say I am not very happy about it Service Delivery Comments --It took a while to get these gloves but that was OK We planned ahead and have other gloves to use Then I tore the finger in 3 weeks of use Thankfully sarcasm Outdoor Research has a useful life warranty for this product All I had to do to be considered for the warranty was to provide Date of purchase proof of purchase photo representing damage to the glove photo showing the branding on the glove and all of the information contained on the tags inside the gloves After providing all of this info to Outdoor Research they kindly informed me they are working through the pile of warranty claims and should be back to me within 3 to 4 weeks Yes this is in writing Then they will decide on the legitimacy of my claim and then I will need to send the old gloves back if my claim is approved It is not clear if I am paying for the return shipping or if Outdoor Research is I have had surgery before and it involved less documentation than this

Terrible phone customer service
Terrible phone customer service It had been 4 business days without items I that I ordered having still not been shipped website said 1-2 So that s why I called in the first place Was on hold for about 5-8 minutes before speaking to someone The representative seemed disinterested immediately Said that sometimes takes longer than what is stated on the website then update it right I needed the items for a trip that I was going on So I asked if I could ancel the order No Asked if I could pay extra to overnight it No So then there is nothing you an suggest or do No Thanks for nothing I would have asked for a return label before hanging up if I knew she could help me with it She also could have mentioned that it is faster simpler and often cheaper to order OR gear on Amazon Well of course it is

Poor customer service and inconvenient return policy
I ve had to pay for return shipping from other companies when the articles did not fit properly but have always been provided a return label for convenience however OR actually makes you go out of your way to ship it back yourself with no help When I reached out to support to find out how I should ship it back I received the following terse response As stated in our return policy on our website return shipping IS on the customer I finally found the section in their return policy that states that you are on your own but it is under a section titled THIRD PARTY STORE RETURNS and can easily be missed Customer support was not helpful It can be difficult to order clothing online without being able to try it on first If you think there is any chance you may have to return the type of clothing you are looking to purchase I recommend trying a different brand with better customer support

Worst Customer Service
I recently ordered two expensive Gortex jackets from Outdoor Research A couple of minutes after after I placed the order I checked my email and realized I had forgotten to enter a promo code for a 15 discount I immediately contacted them via email about five minutes after order was placed and explained that I accidentally forgot to enter the promo code I never heard back from them and they were not taking any customer service phone call either so sent a follow up email Finally received an response saying they would NOT honor the promo code because I forgot to enter it even though I contacted them five minutes after order was placed These people have absolutely NO IDEA how to run a business Instead of trying to please their clients they seem to go out of their way to tick them off Judging by the reviews on this site a lot of people appear to agree with me Will definitely NEVER buy anything from them again and suggest you do likewise They are definitely very BAD NEWS

They canceled my order without me knowing
Was doing some Black Friday Cyber Monday shopping and I came across their site where they had some merino wool base layers for 60 off so I grabbed a couple pairs for myself and my girlfriend and some other stuff I checked out and got a confirmation email on Friday I went to go pay my credit card bill and saw that the purchase went through I wait a couple more days and noticed that I still haven t gotten an email with shipment confirmation only to find out the order was actually cancelled the very next day after I had placed the order no email or phone call to let me know Like if I knew I could have reordered those items when they still had the sale but now it s too late

Ordered direct from them and 10 days
Ordered direct from them and 10 days later the order status is still processing When I called a few days ago I was told They are getting ready to print the shipping label Obviously this was not the case and when I tried to call again I was on hold for 20 minutes and never got anyone They used to be known for great products and great customer service - but they are a t show If a product has not shipped after 10 days then the customer should be notified

TERRIBLE SERVICE 4 DEFECTIVE ITEMS
I purchased a mens Helium jacket from Outdoor Research and shortly after buying it the toggles to cinch the drawstrings stopped staying tight I reached out to the company with a kind email understanding these things happen and asking for them to make it right either through a refund or exchanging it However when I called I received some of the worst customer service ever In fact I was lied to and told to start a warranty claim however I had contacted Outdoor Research within their 60 day window for refunds but they completely failed to acknowledge that Then after speaking with a manager who said he would make it right I was told they would only give me a credit ALL SERIOUS MOUNTAINEERING BRANDS STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS - OUTDOOR RESEARCH DOESN T I would highly recommend buying from one of the many other brands that support what they make I will not be purchasing any Outdoor Research products ever again

Worst company i have ever bough cloths
Worst company i have ever bough cloths from I have owned pants and shirts from patagonia and arcteryx and they have lasted me years 2 months ago i got some pants and shirts from ORand they have completely degraded and all the threads are coming out and fabric is cut up and must be thrown away after 2 friggin months lolthey wont return my products either they say because i used them too hard hahhah Ridiculous watch out

Outdoor Research seems to be a scam They took my order said the order would be here at a certain date then they sent me a ton of emails about offers and sales but nothing about my order Now several days after my order was supposed to be here I have not heard anything about the actual order They need to get it together to be taken seriously
