I m a CPA at first they were very responsive in trying to win work with me Got a good stable monthly client through them but after that first week they were silent Didn t even notify me or my client when the client representative for Paro changed They were slow to answer any questions and then charged double my rate so they got 50 and I got 50 despite them not doing any work other than collecting funds then sending my part to me When looking at the buy out clause in our agreement it states that it is based on my annualized rate Yet the rate they said was my annualized rate was double what they charged the client over 2 years despite me being on a fixed monthly rate This might work for a short term job with an end date but for any recurring work avoid like the plague You and your client will end up paying a middle person to do nothing TL DR - Paro try to make the sale and then leech off of the professional s work without doing anything other than a bare minimum

Over-promise and under-deliver
Over-promise and under-deliver I was sold a comprehensive accounting package and received 50 of what I asked for While the accounting services and skillsets were top-notch I spent much of my time chasing the Paro employee to complete the tasks as outlined in the scope of work Only after I voiced my concerns to Paro did I fully understand they re just a middle-man focused solely on collecting invoices with no regard for client satisfaction or fulfilling their end of the contract

They won t help you if you re using spreadsheets
I reached out to this company to assist our non profit This first contact showed a lack of knowledge or perhaps a tendency to force larger projects than needed onto small organizations I explained that we have our accounting data for 2 prior years in spreadsheets and ee want produce basic annual financial reports based on it Then for the current year we would make use of the accounting software to store the data and generate reports which may or may not include a clean up of past years data in the software given future reports will filter it out Well I was told flat out that they cannot help me and it is an all or nothing Being a software engineer and information systems professional I know that this is the wrong answer yet the most costly

Being a bookkeeper I was with them for
Being a bookkeeper I was with them for a few months Lost clients because of over charging by them and after I got in contact with them about a client who wanted more than the scope of work I was told my account was permanently removed so I lost clients and work You can t get a hold of anyone I tried to appeal but nothing happened

Terrible Experience Would not Recommend
I hired Paro in January 2020 to do my Books I sent them my Quickbooks files so we could come up with an estimate We agreed on 4000 to Clean up my Books and 2350 Monthly e After Several months of difficulties getting any kind of progress done I realized that the Paro contractor was subcontracting her work to a team in India that had no idea what they were doing The Contractor admitted that she was wrong and that she should have been involved more and Learned more about our Business Her team she hired did everything wrong that we had to hire other people to fix their errors

CPA deleted docs horrendous support team
Almost immediately after signing the SOW information arose and I needed to dissolve the SOW It s private but it s certainly a circumstance that should have been respected Instead of voiding the contract after hearing of this they re holding my company to it and 60 additional days of service I would go as far as to call it inhumane support The CPA accidentally deleted a document on call everything was rushed just a terrible experience with this company

There is zero accountability with the
There is zero accountability with the contractors they hire they only act if you threaten to cancel the membership as otherwise they have no incentive to help They ignored my emails for months and then only acted when I sent my cancellation notice I would definitely not recommend using them for any accounting bookkeeping or other services

Weird
They actually do not offer one-time services but advertise as if they do They push that their employees need to meet certain quotas and criticize client budgets I m not going to pay someone to meet their quota I m going to pay for my business needs to be met It s all just weird I don t think your quotas are any of my business

Haven t seen such unprofessional customer service in a while
Really bad and rude customer service in the first interaction with this company I had set up a demo with them trying to learn more about what they offer that could be of help to my business The rep from Paro running the demo hung up on us randomly and did not follow up with the promised items Not proper and absolutely not professional at all

Buyer beware
Buyer beware This is not a real accounting firm It is simply an accounting startup that is only focused on sales meeting quotas so they can get their next round of venture funds They charge their clients a ridiculous fee for the services provided and simply hire the youngest cheapest accountant bookkeeper they can find and pay them less than 50 they are charging you per hour Word is out that they have nothing of value to offer their clients which makes them go after small businesses promising everything and the moon Do yourself a favor and get yourself a real CPA in person that you can trust And if you have hired these guys for a project and it s starting to go poorly fire them It will only get worse
