Never Again
I had my confirmation of a Payless rental through CarRentals com on Oct 26th for 12 days Got to the counter and was advised that my rental confirmation wasn t in the system and that I was basically SOL Rental agent would not look or give any consideration to my reservation and because of our timing we had to proceed to get another car from them or go to another company Ended up charging me almost double my guaranteed price and received the worst car I had ever rented in the past 20 years Poor service to say the least If I could leave a -1 review I would Bob BothwellOshawa Ontario Canada

Never hire car from website paylesscar com Payless is franchising of Avis When I came in the office to rent Avis didn t see my reservation On the question why you don t see coz i paid online via site answer was don t know Confirmation didn t come on the email So I didn t have confirmation number I tried to reach this Payless no number no email nothing Avis rental also doesn t know anything First time in my life I saw such mess

Payless is a scam
We did a car reservation creditcard was not on the name of the driver We had to pay 500 euro extra for administration fee Ofcourse we didnt Lost 200 euro with our reservation like 4 other costumers Its a big scam Never rent a car here

Not helpful and silly rules to get extra money
Credit Card owner me and driver my husband were not the same person and they wanted some 300EUR extra when he pays with his card instead so we asked to change the designated driver which was also not possible Why throw stones in the way of willing customers Crazy

Worst car rental experience ever- lady
Worst car rental experience ever- lady behind the counter was too busy texting on her personal cell to pay attention that I was dropping the vehicle off at a different location I was extremely clear about that she told me she would take care of it Well I dropped it off at the agreed on location and then they charged me 2k because I dropped it off at a different location and it wasn t noted that i was doing it Now I m trying to get someone on the phone to talk to me but they NEVER answer the phone I might have to fly back to Kansas City just to resolve this issue When I called to complain they put me on hold and then never came back on the phone

Sorry I rented from these people trouble from the beginning was told of extra 250 00 charge because I was leaving San Diego county then the vehicle was well used dents all the way around the carpet under the driver had a hole worn in it milage was nearly 60 thousand found empty alcohol container under drivers seat besides other trash found that after family trip to Yosemite During initial drive north found nail in front tire and engine temp keep going above normal so overall giant piece of Crap Their motto should be Payless expect Wayless

SAN airport extra charges poorly maintained and dirty car
Booked a car through Expedia for San Diego airport SAN for a good price - order stated Taxes and Fees Included At the counter the Payless employee Nathan charged me four additional fees and insisted on the car upgrade or else my car will have windows that may not open So I paid at the and a double price Still got a car with 84K miles on smelly sharklet antenna missing front sign missing Worst experience ever

Bait and switch
I rented a car to be picked up at the San Diego airport at a very reasonable rate Unfortunately my flight got canceled and I couldn t get another flight out until the next day I immediately called Payless to let them know that I wouldn t be able to pick up my car until the next morning I should have been picking up around 7pm but because of the flight cancellation it would be the next morning at 10am The agent told me not to cancel since Payless will hold my reservation for 24 hours When I arrived the next morning I was told that the Payless location at the San Diego airport was an independently owned location vs a corporate location and their policy didn t hold reservations for 24 hours They didn t have any cars left that fit my original booking but for an extra 250 they could probably find something for me Unfortunately I simply didn t have time to argue with them and just paid the additional money At the end of the day they saw an opportunity to take advantage of me and did

Feel like Payless is running a scam
Feel like Payless is running a scam I reserved a midsize SUV which wasn t available at the airport when I picked up I had no problem with this because things happen so they gave me a midsize sedan at a lesser rate but when I got the bell on my credit card statement they charged me for 215 for an upgrade Mid sized suv to med sized sedan is not an upgrade No response from Payless to resolve
