I was happy with this appeals process I received a parking fine for overstaying 2 hours in a car park in Cookstown Their signage in the car park is completely inadequate I initially appealed direct to the company and they rejected my appeal so I appealed a second time directly to POPLA This time round and only once the 60 discount period had ended the company withdrew the parking charge and rescinded their fine So I feel this was a just result and without POPLA I would have had to go to court to argue my case there - which would have been an uncertain outcome and stressful Appealing to POPLA is definitely worth a go as it costs nothing and with good evidence as was in my case I had a really good result

I had to drop a friend off at Heathrow
I had to drop a friend off at Heathrow T5 a bit last minute having never been there If there was acharge for this I expected maybe a barrier or some signs on how to pay but there was nothing I drove out assuming it was free then to get a 130 charge a week later POPLA looked at the evidence I could only gather form google maps to show there are no signs and after a few weeks they overturned it - faith restored

I used popla after appealing directly
I used popla after appealing directly and it being rejected popla requested evidence from the parking people and my parking fine was cancelled within 24 hours of them doing so On this occasion this has helped me and I cannot credit popla enough their input has obviously helped in an unfair situation

Sceptical to use POPLA
After reading all the bad reviews on here I was sceptical to use POPLA - However I used the online service submitted my evidence and told my story It took only 3 days and I got a response The operator has reviewed your appeal and chosen to cancel the parking charge Can t get a better result than that Thank you

Not often i give positive reviews
Not often i give positive reviews because i am a grumpy old man but Popla deserve praise I have never used them before as i haven t had a fine previously They saw my evidence and compared it with the Parking Companies opinion I had feared the worse reading through past reviews but Popla were fair and impartial Thank you

Very fair and worth putting an appeal through POPLA
I felt I should leave a review as there are so many bad ones and it is only fair that POPLA are also seen to be fair My appeal for a parking offence at Birmingham Airport was throughly investigated and awarded as successful today I would therefore like to thank Claire Brackenridge for the time spent on my case and the decision outcome I would also advise anyone appealing to be honest about their circumstances as these people are most likely able to pick up fabricated stories to avoid paying the fine

I m confused by all the negative comments
I m confused by all the negative comments on POPLA The review is not about the outcome but the management by POPLA Apart from the delay in the decision making process I found POPLA very professional When I contacted POPLA for an update the adviser was very efficient and friendly

MET Parking Services Ltd - BP Stansted
There s quite a bit of unfair bashing and negative reviews so I thought I would give my own personal and honest experience with POPLA and their appeals process I must really stress that you do your research gather and compile ALL the evidence and really hit the parking operator for multiple objections POPLA just need to agree with one to uphold your appeal MET Parking Services Ltd issued myself a Notice to Keeper NTK Parking Charge Notice PCN for an alleged breach of contract at BP Stansted in October 2024 namely returning to site within the 4hr no return period At the time of the alleged offence we confirmed that we were paying customers of BP Stansted receipts and bank statements to prove and were entitled to 30mins free parking to eat our sandwiches before our flight Now the problem and cause of the alleged offence in order to get to these spaces at the rear of the forecourt you need to drive out back onto Southgate Road and then re-enter as the site is one way as is the case for most petrol stations The vehicle was captured on MET s ANPR returning 1min 44secs the time taken to drive out and back in again No grace period given the first breach of the BPA s Code of Practice which we ll come back onto later Upon searching Google you will find an official UK Government PDF document which kindly shows Stansted Airport s blue line ownership site boundaries Lo and behold BP sits within this land This land is under Statutory Control Airport Byelaws and not classed as relevant land as deemed by MET Parking Services Ltd MET cannot pursue a NTK under this land as it breaches POFA 2012 Schedule 4 Paragraph 3 1 c Photographs from the ANPR were inconclusive as to who was the driver and MET provided no response or counter to the ownership or status of the land Throughout the appeal I confirmed that I was the owner of the vehicle but withheld my right to name or disclose the driver at the time of alleged breach of contract This is the important bit research POFA 2012 the BPA Code of Practice and know your rights I cannot stress this enough In the initial appeal to MET which was swiftly rejected they said the site has the room to manoeuvre so MET are expecting people to reverse around vans cars pedestrians and fuel pumps highly dangerous given the location There was no mention of the land ownership or pursuit of the NTK they believed the PCN was correctly issued go figure For me it was quite a simple review of evidence and appeal but still took the time to compile and present in a clear easy to read format There are guides and templates all free to view online Money Saving Expert is a great place to start and once you are aware of POFA 2012 and Schedule 4 Paragraph 3 this forms the basis of hopefully a successful appeal So off we appealed to POPLA In the end POPLA s appeal process took longer than the estimates 6-8wks this was to allow MET to supply their so called evidence pack and the total period took more like 13wks from submission to decision However Ms Rebecca Appleton s decision and response was clear precise and was in agreement with all the evidence supplied in terms of if the NTK was issued correctly which it clearly wasn t As this was the first point of my appeal all other objections e g no grace period signs redacted contracts reading and agreeing to terms etc were not considered POPLA s outcome was to uphold my appeal and now I am in the process of formally complaining to MET Parking Services Ltd and the BPA for multiple breaches of Code of Practice During the appeal I struggled to sign into my online case account POPLA took a few days to respond but Claire another appeal assessor kindly and politely answered queries sent in via email As explained do your research take your time prepare a well thought out appeal It will cost you more than the 60 or 100 by the time POPLA receive your appeal in your own time but do not let these bully boys and extortionists take your hard earned money Fight back and fingers crossed you get the same outcome as myself I cannot speak for other sites across the country or other parking operators this is just my own experience with dealing with MET Parking Services Ltd at BP Stansted and the subsequent appeal process via POPLA Good luck

My experience with POPLA was very
My experience with POPLA was very different to those reflected in these reviews and I am grateful to them We were issued a ticket that we felt strongly was incorrect and having had our appeal turned down by Citipark decided to escalate to POPLA It took a while and we made sure we got our evidence together properly so they could assess it effectively After a long wait- maybe 6 weeks we were told our appeal was successful To be honest I would have been really upset if it hadn t as I felt our case was clear
