Reading Revival

My son really enjoyed his time spent in the Reading Skills program The instructor was thoroughly knowledgeable and engaged the students in an impressive way They didn t even know they were learning foundational phonics Coming from a mom whose son cries every time reading is involved in his curriculum I would highly recommend this program to parents that find themselves in a similar situation with their own children This program was FUN for him

Very pleased

We enrolled our 11 year old son in the Reading program for increased speed in reading comprehension and writing skills He is a strong reader who enjoys reading several books a month and does well in school His writing skills however required a lot of work We were are very pleased with the additional skills and help he received in the program We have noticed that he has more insight about his writing and is more likely to spend the time required to review his work and edit accordingly We loved the pace of the class the teacher was great E Tiani the weekly assignments allowed for sufficient time to complete and the class size was perfect We would recommend this program to other parents

This was a first for us

This was a first for us and so far my little one was quite engaged The book that were recommend was just right the stories were interesting and not long Which he loved Sometimes when stories drag and takes long to get to the point My little one losses interest Within was each session the educator encourages the children to talk about the book This process helped my little one remember details and understand reasoning within each problem Overall he enjoyed it and so did I

I originally signed up for the reading program at PCC

I originally signed up for the in person class and was not interested in the online or virtual class However COVID changed everything I kept my 3 year old son s registration in the 4 and Pre-K program and I am so glad I did He loved the online lessons Bookman and the Let s Read reader and books We are now 2 weeks post reading program and he is still using the online lesson program enjoying Bookman reading his sight words and still enjoys the books from the program I would definitely recommend this program to any parent wishing to help their child learn to read or improve their reading ability I look forward to next summer s program

We had planned for an inperson summer

We had planned for an inperson summer course but with COVID ended up going virtual Virtual was wonderful The teacher was top-notch knew how to do online teaching and really engaged the kids My daughter had lots of reading practice and really like the class and activities during the week

My 5 year old son going into

My 5 year old son going into Kindergarten learned so much from this reading program He was having so much trouble with phonics and this helped him tremendously His teacher was great and he loves reading books even more now I will definitely have him do this program again next summer

Very Well Done

I found this to be a great course of instruction for our six year old It s professionally prepared but not overwhelming They seemed to tailor the weekly level of effort to be just right for busy parents and kids and selected a good set of age-appropriate books The instructor for the live virtual lessons seemed prepared and engaged especially given the challenge inherent in managing a live class of five or six year olds

Great investment Worth every cent

The wonderful thing about this program is that the teachers engage the students instead of calling on those who volunteer or raise their hand In doing so those otherwise shy introverted children would not gain social skills From the literature perspective the books are on par with the grade level My child has been participating in this program for several years and sometimes the books assigned in this program class have already been read as curriculum in her school Overall I am very pleased with the value of this program

This was a really excellent program

This was a really excellent program The pace was just right The teacher was very skilled at setting the right tone and engaging all the students The between-meeting activities were very well-crafted and my 10 year old daughter could mostly do these completely on her own I think she learned a lot in this program The program really exceeded our expectations

Awesome reading and writing class

I loved this reading and writing program for my rising 5th grader It was just long enough that his attention was captured The books were interesting as well and it was nice to see other students from across the US The instructor Mr Vick is a phenomenal teacher I highly recommend this class to all parents interested in keeping their child engaged in reading and writing
