Office staff let us down

The engineer was brilliant but the office were meant to call us and book in a replacement part - still waiting for that call from Secom - very very let down by office staff not the engineer and one just turned up unannounced now without prior notification

Admin deficiencies

The engineer when he turned up was efficient However the administration within the company is poor and needs an investigation to highlight deficiencies and to make improvements Various e-mails refer

The two men who came were polite and

The two men who came were polite and helpful The office staff put the first at a disadvantage as we had asked for 10 30 til 12 as your email confirmed but you did not confirm this with the engineer so I had to send him away

Engineer was great

Engineer was great However the booking system leaves much to be desired Originally the appointment was am The day before the agreed date I had a message from Secom saying it was changed to pm I moved things around to accommodate the revised time At circa 8 45 am on the actual date I received an update that the Engineer was on the way and he duly arrived circa 10am Fortunately we were still at the house and delayed our schedule Clearly the communication between your booking system and the engineers is disconnected and needs fixing It messed up our morning Yes I could have insisted he came back in the pm but it wasn t his fault and the roads were very icy

It helps to have engineers who have

It helps to have engineers who have been to the house before We had a new person who said everything was fine The next day we received an email quoting 550 to provide documentation about the system No one explained why and I remain puzzled why Secom don t have all the plans given they installed and maintained the system

Hidden charges

As far as I know the maintenance was completed correctly However I thought I had a maintenance contract for which I pay an annual charge It was necessary to replace the battery during the service I have never paid for batteries in the past but this year I received a bill for the new battery Apparently SECOM no longer provide replacement batteries free but did not see fit to tell customers of this change Subsequently SECOM agreed to delete this charge

2 visits when there should be 1

The chap who performed the check was polite and seemingly efficient However we informed him of one fault and he found 3 other issues He could only fix one by replacing a battery Now we have to wait a week with a faulty system until another engineer attends So another wait in Your service engineer should call once and sort things out at that time

Alarm did not work after he left

The chap was very friendly and carried out his duties however the alarm would not work after he left We had to phone for help the next day

The good the bad and the

Had my alarm for 30 years Nothing special really quite a simply system Engineer had not seen this one before Needed my instruction book to read Good job I had it Pir needs inspection probably windows tapped and 2 of 3 door contacts checked Plenty of chat I have another inspection and next week hope it goes well Up until now service has been excellent 100

0the engineer did all he could to help even as he was not the type of engineer we ask for he was a service engineer and we ask for a installation engineer
