Placed an offer on a property in August 23 and finally got moved in in March 24 Before I start this review I would like to take time out to thank Lisa who was on the ball just wish we d had her at the beginning as things seemed to progress so much faster with her involvement Dealing with Talbots Law felt like I was in a toxic relationship At the start everything was great and lots of communication and then all of a sudden that stopped Nobody could get in touch with talbots law nobody was replying to our estate agents the sellers agents the sellers solicitor and our buyers solicitor I even tried to email numerous times and it would either send and id get no reply or it would send and I d get an automated out of office reply with a forwarding email address I even emailed that person and still no reply I was getting quite concerned at this point because we d already paid them It wasn t until I d done some digging that it turned out talbots had had an incident with the IT systems and were working to resolve it Eventually somebody else from talbots got in touch with no apology for the ghosting that we d encountered and it was all systems go again however once again that stopped and we were back in ghosting mode Eventually after many weeks and different people we were then assigned Lisa who really did get the job done Would I recommend Talbots Maybe if you like the feeling of being in a toxic relationship or want everything to go at a snails space then yes if that s not for you then no I wouldn t

I m pleased we were able to complete but the attitude towards me for following up was sharp and abrupt I understand workloads on solicitors can be stressful but you don t take it out on your clients remember clients are not ware of your pressures unless you tell them

As with others we were recommended by Nicole Co who are Fab so we trust their recommendations And Talbots seemed ok however I do feel they made things more complicated than it needed to be and wasted valuable time in sorting issues that were already sorted Emails coming in after 5pm or much later to sort issues when companies business hrs are ended so you cant action anything not picking up the phone and missing emails with evidence of actions completed when you pay a lot of money you expect a recent service I wouldn t use again Most stressful was getting a call on move day to run through the bank account information all a bit last minute and extra stress unnecessary

The service we received was hit and miss at times sometimes really sometimes quite stressful we had a few different solicitors handling our case and there was many issues of either things going missing or sending emails asking for payment when I d done it 2 weeks prior and I d informed them that I d sent the payment through As soon as Manisha Suman took over the case things fell into place she was very friendly emails were sent with the right approach and knew when things were happening nothing was too much for her and in the last few weeks Manisha was doing everything she could to ensure the move went to plan and continued to chase and I believe in my opinion made it a priority everything that needed doing knowing our situation so in regards to scoring I would have to give Manisha 5 stars but felt 3 stars was due to the start of our process Thankyou for everything you ve all done aswell as Harry that was also chasing everything

I was forced to use Talbots Law as my solicitors when buying a new build The experience wasn t great No one ever phoned me and no one explained anything to me and a first time buyer I needed some extra help Thankfully I was finally emailed by one of their paralegals Melanie Thomas who is the reason I am giving three stars She was always quick to reply and gave me detailed answers to all of my queries Without her I would have given the experience I 1 Thank you Melanie

The experience was overall good in buying a new house although there were a few challenges Aisha Fatima was exceptionally helpful and very approachable She helped us through the journey and was quite reasonable Pros at talbots- completion was done without any issues all documents were done appropriately and professionally Higlighted issues were dealt with accordingly Cons- Initially we had to chase the progress a few times and had send the same documents multiple times but once sorted it was smooth and communications were clear towards the end The final price we paid was higher than the quote given there were additional charges which were not included in the initial quotes It would have been better if these were explained prior and not on the date of contract exchange Would say despite all things were sorted though and exchange of contracts went well on the planned date

Excellent service Nicola and Ellen worked so hard to rectify a difficult situation they always replied to emails or call and were so lovely Thankyou so much

My experience with talbots law was very good As a first time buyer I struggled to understand the ins and outs of what I was doing Sharitha and her team Asad and Hayley were great at answering questions and giving me updates They made sure everything was running smoothly and when there were queries that were not satisfied from the seller would chase these up until satisfied Would recommend to anybody buying a home whether first time buyer or other

we received excellent service with the probate sale of my mother s property from both Annie Ford and Elliott Lothian they answered calls and emails quickly and efficently all paperwork was completed electronically and we did experience some difficulty completing the forms through this system this is the only reason that the review is 4 stars not 5
