Broken promise

Went to Silverburn Glasgow to ask the

Went to Silverburn Glasgow to ask the price of a new battery for my Tissot watch I was sold on the fact that the batteries they fitted were the best batteries and would last twice as long as a normal battery- around 5 years I was told the watch would also need to be resealed and they could clean the watch for a discounted bargain 20 00 On the basis of being told that the battery would last twice as long as a normal I went ahead Just over two years later the battery has failed around the same time as a normal battery Watch Lab has denied all liability denied I was told their battery would last longer than other batteries I noticed on the receipt that batteries are only guaranteed for a year now two years and resealing is not guaranteed waterproof In total I paid almost 70 00 for a battery reseal and clean that was not worth it Would NEVER use again

Conveniently located but outrageously expensive

Saw their branch in the former Glades in Bromley and decided to try this company to replace the battery of my Tag Yes the chap offered to clean and polish the watch but for an extra 20 This took literally 5 min which after being charged 80 for the battery seems rather expensive After paying 100 I asked if he could remove one of the links of the bracelet as I found it quite loose He wanted another 20 I walked away and ordered on eBay a link removal tool set for 0 99 and got it done in 10 min even though i haven t ever done that before For the convencience of a watch repair in a shopping centre you will have to pay the hourly fees of a brain surgeon Never again

What s happening to my watch - computer says it doesn t know

I feel sorry for the poor ship staff having to deal with such a shoddy process from the central watch service and repair team Initially I got an estimate of 10 weeks which appears to be standard however when I visited today to see what was happening as it was over due by 10 days the response was - we don t know as the team at the service centre hadn t updated the system At present we don t know if the watch is still awaiting repairs or if it has been completed but sitting in someone s drawer waiting to be sent back Overall a very poor customer service process for updating clients on what is happening to their watch Will I use them again - NOWould I recommend them to anyone - NO

Expensive and not impressed

I took my baby g for a new battery and ended up paying WAY to much That was my error in agreeing to it and is a life lesson I picked the watch up only to find the clasp was on the wrong way Another trip into town to get it sorted only to find that the face now frosts over The watch NEVER did that before and they noted that it is not waterproof strange that as it was fine before they touched it and the battery has been changed several times previously Really would stick to a reputable jewellery shop when it needs a battery changing again Now off to buy a new watch Deep joy

50 for a job the local man could do for 5

Took my 18 month old Victorinox watch into Woking branch for new battery and reseal Told 2 year guarantee and reseal essential to maintain water resistance 100m on this model Back home reading the invoice receipt only 12 months guarantee and NOT water resistant Also chips and scuffs on watch and bracelet not there before I should have gone over the watch with them for scratches before I left it I didn t - more fool me A local guy will change the battery for 5 but will stress he can t guarantee water resistance Be warned check for scratches in front of them before they touch it

Lack of communication

I ve used the Watch Lab in Nottingham for many years and always been very satisfied At the end of August I took my TAG Carrera in for a full service 495 and was quoted 3-6 weeks Having heard nothing and being unable to get an answer by phone I visited in person on 5th October the guy called the Service Centre and told me one week two at the outside Having still heard nothing I went back again in the 19th October and was told I should have been quoted 7-10 weeks and he would chase and let me know Still no call the Watch Lab now have a 2300 watch and have charged me 495 and I have no information as to its return The team have always been polite but I am getting both frustrated and concerned

Brent Cross branch

Brent Cross branchThe employees are brilliant salespeople - happy to upsell extra servicing options However when something goes wrong they are condescending and unhelpful I had three watches serviced this year costing hundreds of pounds When I returned one watch that I believed had not been resealed properly they barely listened to me refused to honour the one year warranty and worse still blamed me not only for the damage but for not taking their calls I had zero recourse and there was no appreciation for my recent custom I will never go back
