The strap pins were very unhelpful when trying to fit the strap

I don t usually leave reviews but I feel compelled to inform potential customers about what has been the worst return experience I ve encountered in recent years Let s be clear I m a shopaholic I ve ordered from every retailer you can think of including big brands independent shops and kickstarters among others I ve never left a single review because I ve never encountered an issue like this If I m satisfied I usually leave it at that So consider this more as a warning hopefully helping you avoid the mistake of ordering from this company Now let me explain I ordered a watch strap from this website On arrival the quality seemed great and frankly I liked it despite it being a bit more expensive than other watch straps I ve purchased I used it properly once which for me meant wearing it for 10 minutes I also wore it for a minute when it first arrived and then again for a minute just before I emailed to request a return Such precision in detailing usage shouldn t be necessary in a review and I ve never had to do this with any other retailer but it s important in this context When I contacted them to request a return I was immediately told that I couldn t return it because the item was no longer new The return policy is a brief and strict six lines as of writing However the subsequent email chain revealed a number of subjective opinions and reasons why the item was not eligible for return To clarify the return policy which is only six lines as of writing mentioned none of the details sent to me in the emails Apparently because I had worn it even just for proper use it was no longer eligible for return They didn t even inquire about its condition which was quite shocking to me Imagine ordering a jumper or pair of shoes online using them once and then being told you cannot return them In my decade of online shopping no retailer has rejected a return for this reason Every retailer especially in clothing expects customers to try on products What you see online can be different from what you experience in person Therefore online retailers should and many do anticipate customers trying on their products I received detailed email replies from the company and while I appreciate their responsiveness the level of detail indicated that the return policy itself is inadequate What was even more upsetting were the subjective reasons provided in those emails For example they said that like a pair of shoes you can walk around for five minutes to see how they feel but doing so means they re no longer eligible for return because they re not new By definition any item removed from its packaging is not new but that shouldn t be a reason to reject a return Online retailers are also subject to the 14-day cooling-off period legislation which stipulates different conditions for online sales regarding returns My issue is with what constitutes proper use here Is it based on the number of minutes you wear the watch strap The conditions in which it is worn You can see how this is very pedantic and subjective There s a lot of unclear nuance here and examples were given to me comparing it to a trial period for a mattress I found them to be unfair comparisons because they were again baked with subjective notions of use The most upsetting thing is none of these sub-conditions are mentioned in the return policy Furthermore there was no effort to ascertain the condition of the watch strap If the reason for rejection was that it was worn and not in a resellable condition you d think they would ask for pictures or assess its condition upon return But they didn t There were no questions or requests for pictures Other retailers offer the option to charge a fee if the item is in a resellable condition after assessment That aligns with the 14-day cooling-off period UK legislation for sellers However in this case there was no attempt to gauge its condition I was simply told outright that I couldn t return it They tried to offer me a discount code but knowing that wearing the watch strap once means I can t return it I declined I m considering contacting my bank but honestly I m just disappointed I ve spent thousands with other online retailers and have never faced an issue like this before In summary wear once at your own risk Ensure your definition of proper use 100 aligns with theirs Otherwise you re going to have a lot of trouble Going forward I have no confidence in this brand for future purchases Essentially they re saying if I order a watch strap and use it once I can t return it Why would I take such a high risk Why should you

The watch strap broke after 7 days This is not a good quality product and the person who received the strap as a gift was extremely disappointed
