It s hard to imagine a worse consumer experience than one has using western digital backup products in my case the so-called mycloud A mishmosh of software apps whatall are supposed to stand in for decent user friendly technology Webpages that lead nowhere firmware that doesn t match the firmware listed on their website help pages that are hopelessly circular utilities that are basically non-existent A deeply painful experience that has me deciding to use online backups and forget home cloud solutions forever Western Digital is by far the worst consumer products company I ve ever used There isn t even a word to describe how badly they suck Avoid

had sent a defective drive a month ago and still lame excuses that they have service outage I read in the outage page that they resolved outages in few days then whats the reason for delaying my shipment They always respond with a bot named phil and say that they are having service outage

I have not had access to my network drive
I have not had access to my files for over a week This is unacceptable The whole point of having a network drive is to have access wherever you go WD needs to find a resolution immediately It s ridiculous to expect clients to wait until one day in the future to have access FIX THIS NOW WESTERN DIGITAL STILL NO remote access 8 days and counting

As a business owner I cannot comprehend how a backup product can be so unreliable We ve bought one after the other of WD thinking it was our mistakes only to realize these are just garbage products Don t bother spending money on these or you ll be writing a review warning others

I agree with previous BAD reviews of terrible service on technical support I have an old WD external hard drive which now seems to be dead - all I wanted to know was if where I could get it looked at to see if possible to retrieve the data First call - phone went dead after speaking to an agent for 1 minute 2nd and third calls - after going through the rigmarole of the voicemails and pressing 1 2 etc the line went dead On account of this I shall never buy their products again

Don t order direct
I ve used WD hard drives for years without a problem however I had never purchased directly from them before I never will again Ordered 2 weeks ago Courier has advised the item was damaged in transit WD have been uncontactable to sort this out either by refunding me or by sending another Disappointing I personally will not be ordering directly again I wouldn t have done in the first place if I d have found the reviews on this page

Just purchased WD Passport Ultra and discovered there is no UK telephone support The only number provided is a premium rate 00800 number If I try to use live chat after going through various clicks confirmation of model personal details typing out the query etc etc etc only to discover their chat support is closed and only operates US hours and is only for US customers Boxed and returned to Amazon Waste of time

You will lose you data if you buy WD products
Do yourself a favor and never buy anything from this company WD s programming error left their storage drives vulnerable to hacking and they only allowed requests for data recovery for one month And they are offering a rebate so we can buy more of their vulnerable products and lose more data What a joke Shame on them for not standing behind their products

Given up with WD
Hopeless on another level As mentioned previously on the many messages WD ship to UK from Holland using UPS According to my tracking number the item never left Holland apparently due to BREXIT well what a convenient excuse I have had other items from Europe without issues and via different couriers So again I am left having to resolve this I won t be using WD again In my case they just don t deliver despite what their Web site says
