Flawed firmware
I had to wait a week for the support centre at WD to sort issues with my new mycloud home drive apparently they had made changes to their products that should push updates to the hard drives but my new drive wasn t updating I had to wait on the technical department to apparently log into my drive via its MAC Address so the firmware update could be uploaded remotely it has been a rather tedious experience but the update has now been done and there are still issues ive now been told to speak to apple personally I would warn others from buying mycloud home devices as they are very flawed now since western digital has made all these changes to the iCloud home service

without a shadow of a doubt THE single most worst computer industry company in the entire existence of mankind pick your product it does not matter support is not a help at all virtually no support at all i mean what are we the people suppose to do they almost cornered the market with every drive out there I am a victim and a pretty stupid one at that i had started way back when buying extended drives and then a MyCloud 3 tb cloud storage device and most recently a easystore 5tb 2 reasonings on this 1 not much to choose from in store best buy loves them but ask an employee and they laugh when you tell them these wd products suck 2 i kept hoping they would change lol my bad anyway the easy store easily went corrupt and lost all 20 years of pictures and music collections that took 5 weeks My cloud unit has always been a nightmare from day 1 and now they pulled the rug out by saying they no longer support it and then publishing their updated device life expectancy policy to protect their butts Ladies and Gentlemen that is a thief ooooh they are going to give the owners they screwed over a 20 discount on a newer updated better device hhahahaahah ill bet it wont work either and im not about to give them 1 muscle of movement to get one yup pretty much i HATE this company and there is not much hate for anything else in the world inside of me

Couldn t care less about its customers and warranty replacements
Two 6TB WD Red NAS drives that were still in warranty were returned because the SATA port plastic guides became brittle and came away from the hard drives on both units despite being housed in a caddy inside a server Contacted customer services being honest and upfront about the issue to which they created an RMA on my behalf to have these replaced under warranty despite being given all the honest up front information One was worse than the other as only one was chipped whereas the other had completely fallen apart WD are now refusing to replace the worst one under warranty despite having already sent me 1 of the 2 replacement items and i m now stuck in a debate about why it wont be replaced and that they want me to either accept a return shipping cost and recieve a faulty item back or they will dispose of a 1 year old hard drive worth around 180 new Never dealt with WD much before this as their products are usually ok but thinking seriously about buying other manufacturers equipment from now on It s completely unacceptable from such a large company

Avoid using WD Great if things work but TERRIBLE if they dont
I bought a NAS drive from them in December sent it back in January via their RMA process using a UPS label they gave me to ship it to Poland I have never received a refund and the UPS tracking data says returned to sender at the end of January How can this happen I haven t received a parcel back or a refund I ve done a live chat session about 10 times and keep getting told that it has been escalated to the UK team Nobody ever comes back to me I have tried ringing the support number about 10 times this past week You go through the options then the line just goes dead and it cuts you off I managed to get through to a lady for about 2 minutes then I was cut off again and no matter how many times I tried the line just went dead I have sent several emails and got no response Now I am over 100 down and find it impossible to speak to anybody or get a response WD simply do not care Absolutely terrible service so I suggest avoid buying from them directly at absolutely all costs

The worst support in the business they abandon you after a few years No support for legacy equipement just read the forums WD are so poor we need a zero or minus star rating for them Don t buy WD you will be sorry

4 Months and still waiting
4 Months on and I am still waiting for them to return my products following an RMA Having to contact them 4-5 times before I get a response is getting rediculious

Terrible customer service
This company has the worst customer service I have ever experienced They have lied to me ignored me misled me at every step of the way I am trying to replace a defective device it s been 5 weeks now and they still haven t shipped the replacement device to me I will never do business with them again Ever

Hard drive suddenly broke within 4
Hard drive suddenly broke within 4 months and 4 uses I kept it in a safe box constantly and never even took it out if the house Their customer helpline given to me via amazon is actually fake They ask you to press 1 for English and then the line cuts Same for German and French I ve lost so much important data and now I may have to spend over double the price of the hard drive to recover the it They are impossible to get hold of in the UK and their contact us page just takes you to an FAQ

One of the worst customer support services ever
I was trying first to find out if the strange sounds my new WD Blue 8 TB drive is making are normal or not After several emails I only found out the guys responding wether have a minimun understanding of their products or IT tech nor do they even understood what I wanted and what the problem is At one point a replacement was offered it seemed more to silence me and solve the case instead of the problem which might be none at all but that could not be solved as described above They send links to a support website so bad it seemed like 10 years old After several tries I was able to register my product to find out the website says there is no warranty for this NEW device Even this cannot be solved In the end I even received several answers simultanously which were disagreeing with each other I guess I will give up and hope for the best or try to solve this with the merchant instead don t know what to do else even tried in English and German but simply receiving all the same stupid answers again and again like a chatbot

WD are useless on another level
WD are useless on another level they are incapable of fulfilling their sales orders I ordered an external hard drive on the UK web site with 3-5 days delivery After 2 weeks it never arrived so I contacted them and they refunded the money They said it was a one off problem and that I should order it again and it would be fine so I did The 2nd hard drive did not arrive either so I phoned again and asked for a refund They are shipping their UK orders from the Netherlands they blame Brexit for the problems but there are a lot of bad reviews on TrustPilot going back 6 months to a year before Brexit
