This auction contains many items that can be purchased from online shops including their own sister site for less than they fetch here Be sure to check the availability of the items online before you bid and be careful about the hammer price and delivery Due to the size and success of their sister firm they have a very large customer base which means that it s great to be a seller Since I wrote this Whisky Auction has replied with what I believe is misleading information The auction is owned and operated by the same people and they could easily implement this buy this from the store function when the auction they are running is for a store-available product They are being lazy with their response in my opinion That said they do agree that there are items in their auction that are available from their store for less than the price paid in auction What I think is happening is that the owner is seeking to profit from the bias involved in auction events So I have reduced their star rating from 2 to 1 for trying to pretend that the two activities are run separately That s NOT TRUE They operate from the same premises They are run by the same clever man I complained to them that when a user makes an accidental bid there is no rescind cancel button available They were not honest with their reply and said that would interfere with the auction They basically treated me like I don t understand much about data systems which was disappointing It is possible to allow bids to be rescinded when they are made in error All it takes is a bit of logic and some notifications to introduce a process for dealing with that Imagine there are three parties Bidder X Bidder Y and Bidder Z 1 Accept the rescind from bidder Y2 Return the auction to the previous highest bid received from bidder X unless 3 Bidder Z has submitted a higher bid in which case use Bidder Z to replace Bidder Y and retain their higher bid as their highest bid and use it if required OR 4 Bidder X has raised their bid in which case do NOT increase the bid to their new high but use their new bid as their highest bid and use it if required It s not difficult I would give the auction site a 1 star now for arguing with a customer twice Taking feedback on the chin and looking at improving a service is a good thing to do There are plenty of smart people who knows enough about auction solutions to know that the rescinding of an online bid can be solved It happens all the time online - in real time - in real-time bidding engines Thank you

Still haven t been paid 16 days after auction has ended its disgraceful

Highest commission prices of any whisky auction No need to be so expensive

The reason for this is the bottle said 750ml anfld travel retail exclusive turns out it was a standard 700ml 40 normal retail bottle dissatisfied

I bought stupidly the wrong bottle and paid over 300 ish didn t touch it put it back in the next sale and after got 96 so yes feel very conned

Unfortunately I followed previous favourable reports here on TrustPilot before using this specialist whisky auctioneer and personally delivering to their office five of my rare bottles of malt whiskies in mint condition for them to auction Subsequently they managed to dislodge one of the labels from the box of my rarest bottles - their carelessness altered its appearance and in retrospect definitely caused an appallingly low final auction bid I protested at their lack of care and attention which they defended and assured me that it would not affect the final bid price I also found their listing description of the label condition of another bottle to be different to the mint condition that I delivered it in to them They advised me not to set reserve prices as they said reserves tend to deter bidders The final bid prices on four of the five bottles ultimately proved appallingly low and well below even their lowest prior price valuations of them Obviously these auctioneers are great to buy from - but definitely not the auctioneers to consign rare bottles and sell through Wish I had never followed their advice and I will never use them again for future sales of my other rare malt whiskies which I thankfully held back from their auction Sellers beware

I found the company very rude and condescending they tried to tell me my payment was unable to be sent and had disappeared It took me time but I had to tell them how to do this even though the finance department was sorting it oit

Two bottles won in auction but one fell well below standard expected The Speyside 8 year old had a stopper whose seal was broken on arrival and the top of the stopper was broken away from the cork part which is stuck in the neck of the bottle This is totally unacceptable I paid money for the bottle plus commission plus postage and I have been told to accept this I have not been offered my money back This is my first experience of Whisky Auction and is such a let down so so disappointing I cannot recommend this auction site to anyone

Bad experience Bad customer service They charged 10 which isn t cheap for dispatching two 0 5 litre bottles by parcel force Obviously parcel force only deliver during normal working hours Monday to Friday which makes impossible for me to collect them as I m as is most people in UK at work in their delivery time When I inquired about it Whisky Auction fobbed me off and told me to contact courier by paid parcelforce CS number - contact and tell them what That they delivery times are only good for jobless and retired Won t be buying again with WA To much hassle I ll be requesting refund
