I was told over the phone that the total price for the transmission, including shipping to my doorstep, would be a specific amount and that it would be delivered within 5 to 7 business days. I paid the full amount on November 12. The following day, I received an email stating that I needed to pay an additional $99 for residential liftgate service. Since I had already paid a few thousand dollars and was told my transmission was in their warehouse, I went ahead and paid the extra fee.

When the transmission arrived on December 1, the liftgate service was not used at all. I helped unload it myself, meaning I paid $99 for a service I did not receive. I also had to call the company four times to ensure delivery by December 1. Without following up, it likely would not have arrived until December 3. At this point, I have not yet installed the transmission and am hoping the product quality is better than the customer service experience.

Since then, the company has contacted me and confirmed they will refund the liftgate service fee. They were sincere in their apologies and explained their side of the situation. Ultimately, the issue was not directly their fault, as the shipment changed handlers multiple times.
