I ve been learning about programming for a few months on Coursera YouTube entry-level computer science classes at my local college etc One of my classmates who is an experienced developer returning to finish his degree recommended Mosh s content He told me that everyone he met who had learned from Mosh turned out to be a good programmer Having completed Ultimate Java parts 1 and 2 as well as Python for Developers I can see why Mosh is so highly regarded He s a master of giving the right amount of detail explaining concepts fully and clearly without losing the student s attention In the courses I ve completed his videos range from a few minutes to fifteen with most coming in just under ten minutes They re well-organized and build upon each other at a comfortable but not slow pace The content is very current though in the Python course I got distracted by a few nuances in the VS Code extensions and by some changes to a few of the libraries I was easily able to overcome these and after having bad experiences with outdated Python package tutorials on YouTube I was impressed by how evergreen the content is For course specifics the first two Java Mastery courses covered everything that I had previously covered in my first two semesters of intro to programming at a local college but the second course was much much better at breaking down principles of object-oriented programming in Java than what I had experienced in college The Python for Developers course was an amazing intro to the language after covering all of the basics control flow data structures classes standard Python library he goes on a grand tour of cool Python modules for web scraping working with APIs PDFs Excel files Django and machine learning basics I have to circle back for the Django section but I can say that the other package tutorials are great introductions they re more jumping off points to launch further learning and to inspire projects Overall this is one of the best learning experiences I ve had in my coding journey and I ll be availing myself of many of his other courses over the coming months I can t recommend his content enough it really jumpstarted my learning at a crucial time when I was really burnt out
