Customer Review: Beware of Dealer Loyalty Protection
I had purchased GAP insurance through Dealer Loyalty Protection when I refinanced my vehicle, thinking I’d be covered in case of a total loss. Unfortunately, my experience with them has been nothing short of a nightmare. After my vehicle was totaled, I had an unimaginable struggle trying to get any help. They refused to open the GAP claim until my insurance released the check, and even then, they kept asking for more documents. I was left frustrated, with Dealer Loyalty Protection dragging its feet throughout the entire process.
The worst part? They ended up paying only $1,600 out of the $10,000 I was expecting. They didn’t even give me credit for the three months I’d been paying on the vehicle after the accident. They also claimed my insurance undervalued my car by $5,000 but refused to cover that amount, which is a huge reason why people buy GAP insurance in the first place.
This was a complete rip-off. Now I’m still stuck paying on my totaled vehicle, unable to buy another car. Do your research before purchasing any plans through Dealer Loyalty Protection. This company will make it incredibly difficult to get any assistance, and their lack of communication is unacceptable.
I even spoke to the CEO, and he was incredibly rude and unhelpful. When I tried to write a review online to warn others, he even threatened legal action. Avoid this company at all costs. I’ve also spoken with the owner of the dealership that sold me the warranty, and he was furious about my experience. Hopefully, more dealerships will catch on and stop working with this company.
Overall Rating: 1/5
This company is a scam. They take forever to process claims, they try to use cheap aftermarket parts, and they want customers to pay upfront with no guarantee of reimbursement. I have two friends who have been waiting two months for reimbursement, and it’s clear they have no interest in actually fulfilling their promises. If you're thinking of buying from Dealer Loyalty Protection, please read the reviews carefully. I wish I had.
