I've been a loyal AOL customer since the 1980s, but my recent experience with AOL MyPrivacy and customer support has been beyond frustrating. After resetting my laptop to fix persistent pop-up issues, I realized too late that I had lost access to my AOL account, which included forgotten passwords and outdated recovery information. Despite multiple attempts to recover the account—including more than five failed 2-step verifications and repeated phone calls to AOL support—I remain locked out.
The worst part? I was told to wait a weekend, then an entire month, for the system to "reset," all while continuing to be charged for a service I can't access. AOL MyPrivacy is supposed to offer secure and seamless account management, but my experience has been the opposite. The lack of support, outdated verification protocols, and unhelpful responses from representatives have made this the most disappointing customer service ordeal I’ve ever faced.
Unfortunately, my AOL email is linked to vital services, including business, medical, and financial platforms, leaving me effectively cut off.
