Verified User Review – AOL my privacy reviews & AOL Overall Experience
I've been an AOL customer since the 1980s, and my recent experience with AOL MyPrivacy has been nothing short of frustrating. After resetting my laptop to eliminate persistent pop-ups, I discovered I had lost access to my AOL account due to a forgotten password and outdated recovery info. Unfortunately, AOL's customer support did not meet expectations. I contacted support multiple times, encountered repeated verification failures, and was advised to “wait for the system to reset” – once for a weekend, then for a full month. Despite being locked out, I was still being charged for the service.
This situation has affected my access to business, medical, and financial accounts linked to my AOL email. When I requested to speak with a supervisor, I was either told one wasn't available or never received a promised callback. Based on this experience, I would caution others to thoroughly research AOL MyPrivacy reviews before relying on it for data security or customer service.
Sadly, AOL seems to have declined over time, offering less value while increasing fees – a perfect example of the growing issue known as "enshittification". For those researching AOL reviews, especially related to support and data recovery, I highly recommend proceeding with caution.
