I have ordered books from different book sellers thru AbeBooks - have had no problems with any of them Books have arrived within the time frames stated more than can be said for a large secondhand book company who has stopped advising customers about the movement of their orders As a result have lost books and now have stopped ordering from them

Great Prices I check here for books as they have reasonable prices and actually describe the condition as a posed to just used-good My only complaint is the returns I ordered what was described as a New Book except when it arrived it was an Audio Book Nowhere in the description was it listed as a Audio book I had to pay for the return by the time I did this I mightn t have bothered It took 2 weeks for a refund if I could rate it 3 5 I would

My experience with this site was almost flawless I think what people fail to remember is that AbeBooks simply hosts different booksellers and does not stock or send books themselves Therefore it s important to review the sellers themselves and how they did I was initially alarmed by all the negative reviews so wanted to share my experience and the fact that it really depends on the particular booksellers The ones that I ordered from were all great Bestsellersuk AwesomeBooks and WeBuyBooks All 6 books I ordered arrived in wonderful condition some practically new They all came within or even earlier than the specified timeframe They were all very good value and I am very happy with my order One thing to note though is that I wouldn t buy hardbacks from these sellers - my paperbacks all came in single-layer plastic mailing bags that might not protect hard covers However AbeBooks lacks any way to review the different booksellers on the website itself which would help maintain standards and customers could avoid the awful irresponsible booksellers This is something the site desperately needs

Great service I received a previously owned book that is in almost perfect condition Delivery was a little slow and I didn t receive a dispatch confirmation or any tracking details but I m very happy with my purchase Thank you

I ordered a book in very good condition with a tight spine and minimal wear to the cover The book that arrived was falling apart at the spine and was very battered in appearance UPDATE I spoke to the seller regarding the issue and they were apologetic and have offered a full refund This was all sorted out quickly UPDATE Full refund has been received

I ordered 5 books just over a week ago one of which I had been looking for for some time The last one arrived today All arrived within the time that was announced on the site and in the condition that was described except for one missing DVD which I am not bothered about I will definitely be using this service again

I have had excellent service from Abe books There have been 2 books I didn t receive As requested I got in touch with the seller personally and she refunded me immediately Unfortunately recently I ordered a book which came from a seller named Jonny Sewell I had to chase it up and then received a card from the post office claiming the seller hadn t paid full postage so I had to pay 3 50 although I had paid shipping as advised by him Long story short it appears according to the post office clerk that he used old stamps and one was cut off something and had lost the perforated edges I have had no apology or reply from him nor a refund as far as I can see Not Abe books fault but beware of some sellers I have a photo but seem unable to add to review

I ve ordered many books since I first heard about AbeBooks and never had an issue until last week I ordered 4 books from two different sellers and three of them arrived in extremely poor condition after being listed as good on the website The refund process requires that you return the book - this would probably cost me almost as much as the refund would be so I contacted customer support with a complaint about the process They were very understanding and initiated a refund straight away - I got refunded for all four books even though I said I was happy with one of them Clearly allowing the sellers to rate their own book quality isn t working too well and needs some changes Hopefully ratings will be more accurate again in future

To date my experience with Abebooks UK has been good I have had excellent service from Little Stour Books and Stella and Rose s Books prompt delivery well packaged and books as described So long as you realise that Abebooks is simply a platform for book sellers The software is quite good but there is little human backup There are unfortunately no reviews of individual sellers My suggestion is that potential customers check out the websites of the book sellers before committing to a purchase

Ordered used books via AbeBooks on several occasions and they ve matched the description and been received swiftly but always wrapped in plastic Still Why
