Just started using this site very reasonable price and the book arrived in good condition said it would deliver in 6-10 days and came in 9 I was worried after seeing other reviews I am going to order more books now

I have used Abe Books for a number of orders and every order has been sent speedily and exactly what I expected I have ordered music books and nostalgic books from childhood and I have never been disappointed Great service and variety of material

Naming and shaming poor sellers

I sell on here and before the internet and afore the trains came almost I have sold books Please would the people who complain on this outlet state the SELLERS they ordered the books off Abebooks are an outfit with little experience of selling books they just appropriate 24 of the sellers money and then do nothing for it except provide the platform They have few staff able or who want to help They are now part of Amazon However over 10 000 individual sellers who have stock of between 500 to 500 000 books and who have high and low standards In 17 years I have not once not refunded a loss or refused to refund on any book unwanted It happens very very rarely too Naming the seller would perhaps stop the charlatans Don t tar us all with this sweeping view

A great service book arrived as described

A great service if a little on the slow side that said the book arrived before the quoted date The book I ordered was quoted as being in fine condition and when it arrived well packed from River Reads it was as described and looked like new

Good experience

I ordered 2 books from this site and both arrived in great condition and exactly as described From other reviews it seems to be hit or miss as books are sold by individual sellers and not the site The site itself works well has a huge range of books that are difficult to find elsewhere for fair prices and each seller has a rating on their profile that shows the completion rate of their sales Overall I m really happy with my experience although would suggest the site adds a review system for individual sellers as I d like to have been able to give the feedback about individual sellers directly where other customers will see it

I use Abe books to order my book group read every month The books are always in excellent condition and very reasonably priced Generally receive my book within 3 days excluding weekends

was worried after reading al the negatives but the reality is I ordered a book which is out of print for 30 less than anywhere else had it it came within the week I can t honestly complain

Zero quibbles

I sent 2 books to a friend in Latvia I didn t realise I didn t have the apartment number A second issue was that the Abe system had not coped with the Latvian letters and had placed wierd numbers series For the first book I got an email and sent it to my friend saying that a book was waiting in the post office After a couple of weeks no email for the second book so we sent a message to abe books and they instantly sent another book out That book didn t seem to arrive I realized that the mistake had been mine with the apartment number and we added it Abe Books sent out a third copy 0 quibbles My friend found the Latvian post paper at the bottom of a pile of papers in her building block So it looks now that she might receive two copies The point is with all of these mistakes most of them nothing to do with Abe books bit Latvian post they continue to send out copies and I m very grateful to them

As cheap as chips and better for the waistline

I have ordered five books in total and if the three yet to be delivered are as in the same pristine condition as the two I have received I will be well chuffed The cost 2 35 each a price that includes free delivery An absolute bargain
