Amazon owned AbeBooks is just a

First of all AbeBooks is just a marketplace for different sellers Ordered approx 80 books over last 18 months Definitely happy overall books tend to be in condition stated normally better 1 thing I wished they d do is state who the seller uses for delivery Royal mail is best and 95 of my books have come through them Only 2 I ve never received are from yodel With their lying couriers

Ordered a collection of rare magazines from 1993 from Entelechy Books through abe books Did what I usually do and read the reviews AFTER ordering Must admit I was a little worried but didn t need to be Books arrived very well packaged within a couple of days in fantastic condition considering they re 28 years old Absolutely fantastic service

Was looking for a Chambers Crossword

Was looking for a Chambers Crossword Companion for my mum It went out of print a few years ago and her copy is in bits We contacted publisher who were very unhelpful our local library suggested AbeBooks We signed up found it ordered via AB from a seller on there received book a few days later It was in excellent condition we me and my dad were overjoyed All for under a tenner I don t think AbeBooks make much profit off us it seems to be unscrupulous sellers on there that do You just need to be aware and research and read reviews before you purchase

great website for cheap second-hand books

I don t know how this has quite a poor rating The books I want are generally cheap second hand books which come as described I think I only ever had one problem when one of my books had writing and a page missing I contacted the shop and they sent a refund not including delivery obviously straight away which was really nice of them because the writing and missing page had no impact on me I usually use ebay for cheap second hand books sometimes look on amazon or vinted but abebooks is usually a back up as well I ve seen a few reviews talking about delivery - different companies on there have different delivery times there are always unseen circumstances as well but I ve never had a problem The last time I bought from them was back in April but I ve been using them since 2020

I ve been impressed with ABE

Compared with other reviews I found ABE to be very responsive When my order failed to arrive after a month ABE investigated and offered an immediate refund This was honoured and showed in my bank within 48 hours However when I reorder from ABE - and I will - I will avoid Awesome Books that they use I ordered several books before Christmas too - these all arrived within a few days

Good service

Looking at my account details I can see my first order with AbeBooks was back in 2005 I m still using them and have generally found the prices and delivery to be good Can t really speak to some of the low score reviews on TrustPilot other than to state all my experiences have all been positive 5 stars to AbeBooks from me

Fantasic service

I received a fantastic and personal service from Abe Books through Books and Bobs Swansea I ordered an old title published in German in 1957 on Monday 30th January and it arrived 2 days later on Wednesday 1st February with a welcoming letter from the business owner Who needs Amazon Prime with a service like that

Very good

The books are great and exactly the same as the pictures and descriptions and the delivery was exactly like the seller explained before Thank you so much for selling good stuff and providing good service I will buy more books later when I need more

Consistently good service

I ve used this company a few times and have always been very pleased with the service I ve just received Fiona Hill s There s Nothing for You Here from the States It arrived far more quickly than expected at a good price and is in almost perfect condition
