Avoid at all costs If you want to pay 500 to make mortgage applications more difficult stressful and time-consuming than it needs to be use their service If not don t We used Alexander Hall on advice from Foxtons Our first conversation with our advisor was quite helpful so we were happy to proceed We received our mortgage in principle Once our offer was accepted we paid Alexander Hall the 500 fee it was all downhill from there The application with some delay from the broker was finally handed in After that we heard nothing For weeks We emailed our broker and her manager several times nothing After three weeks and another email we finally got a response that the undertaker required further information and if we were receiving a gift we needed to fill out a letter they could provide They knew we were receiving a gift so could have sent us the letter but chose not to As it had been almost a month at this point we wanted to get things finalised However no response again So we decided to call our mortgage lender directly They told us they had been requesting this information from Alexander Hall without getting a reply for over three weeks At this point we issued a formal complaint about the procedure and suddenly that email got answered immediately and we received a call from the manager s manager assuring us the fee would be refunded if we continued the process to get our mortgage With rising interest rates we obviously just wanted to get things wrapped up as quickly as possible After a few more hiccups where we had to fix mistakes for Alexander Hall our mortgage was finally completed The fees were not refunded at this point After a week they have the audacity to ask us to do life insurance through them which we politely declined Three weeks after the mortgage was done we reminded them that the complaint was still not completed or mentioned again In response we received an extremely unprofessional and clearly panicked email from Alexander Hall and the promise that the fees would be refunded Yesterday we got the refund and a patronising email explaining what had happened Apparently going almost a month where Alexander Hall was not responding to us or NatWest is considered is only unreasonable in our subjective opinion In summary we would have had less stress and taken less time to complete all of this if we had just done it all ourselves If you are going to use a broker there are many out there who are cheaper and better but let s be honest that s not exactly a challenge

Thanks to them my seller is now considering going with a cash buyer since the process has been incredibly slow Before I paid the 499 fee everything had been fast and smooth with constant and clear communication Now it takes them ages to reply and I have to constantly chase I was very clear in my communication when I told them a big sum of the deposit was located outside of the UK and they told me nothing After a back and forth with Barclay s that lasted almost three weeks they re now telling me that all the amount needs to be in the UK ChatGPT could be doing their job much better it s incredible Instead of communicating to me immediately and actually acting as advisors what I needed to have in place they just let me share screenshots waited 3 days before telling me that Barclay s wanted proper statements and over a week before telling me that I needed to be gifted the money with a proper form and that it needed to be located in the UK At this point Alexander Hall has known about my situation for over a month I understand why sellers want to go for cash buyers but they should still ask who the mortgage brokers are and if it s Alexander Hall please avoid

Update My case was then handed by Tristan He was really good He helped to chase the lender and finally got the mortgage offer -It s not worth the money At the moment of taking the fee they stopped responding to emails and phone calls I have called multiple times in the last 2 weeks try to submit my application I was only responded with 2 calls saying they will process Then they claimed the application has been submitted but there was no written proof can be given I m really tired of chasing them over and over again All I got was a random person promising me that someone will call me back Now that I m ghosted for another day Will keep updating this comment with my experience

Really bad service The broker didn t help me to secure a mortgage It s mentioned in the contract that they will refund the broker fee But they ended up without paying anything back

Very disappointed with their services Takes ages for them to do anything for you give empty promises and do not respond to your calls and emails Do not understand positive comments really

Very unprofessional experience with a customer services rep KENZA She forgot to hang up the call after we gave her all the relevant details she built up a negative perception against us Our Ethnicity and gave a personal judgement against us to her colleague

My experience for my mortgage application as a first time buyer was with mortgage broker Moazzam at Alexander Hall wasn t that good I have been in contact with them since August now November and I still haven t received the answer for Agreement in Principle I was alway emailing and reminded about it but I just received emails telling me that He will work on that this week or next week or is away of the office and nothing else Completely wasted my time very disappointed

I have used Just Mortgage Brokers one time and they used to be very good this time however was completely different Luca Scuotto didn t seem interested in my case he replied to my message almost one week later He did not explain anything and did not offer any more help Luca purely ignored me and my Mortgage offer almost ended on 4 December 2023 and they are not supporting me to get a few months more extension I would not recommend using the Alexander Hall services to anyone thank you for nothing

I was recommended by Foxtons to Alexander Hall to get mortgage advise I had to pay a deposit of 500 despite not proceeding with any of their quotes Only then I found out that the deposit was not refundable I was never advised about this before proceeding and I exchanged just a few e-mail and their adviser Ryan Brady simply put a few quotes together a 5-10 min job and chargining me 500 for this Avoid at all cost Avoid at all cost
