National Aviary Reviews

We took our family to the National Aviary on a weekend trip to Pittsburgh and it was the highlight of the whole visit. The tropical rainforest habitat is amazing, birds flying right over your head, and my kids were completely mesmerized. The penguin encounter was the thing we were most excited about and it did not disappoint, the keepers are clearly knowledgeable and obviously love the birds. We also watched the bird show where raptors soared right above the crowd, which was a once in a lifetime moment for us. The flamingo feeding was fun too. Everything was clean, well organized, and easy to navigate with strollers, and the staff at every exhibit were happy to answer questions. It is also nice that the proceeds go toward real conservation work protecting birds and their habitats. We booked our tickets online ahead of time, which was simple. Already planning a return trip.
