Very disappointed

Just got my back up camera for my 2013 bmw 535i xdrive and got it installed to my shock the installer told me that the system I got from bimmerTech was for a f15 f20 I have a f10 I was told by bimmerTech it was compatible well the first thing was that my heads up display didn t work with that system and the second thing was that the picture from the cam camera doesn t take up the whole screen as advertised so I was asked to choose the backup camera or my heads up display and of course you can t get a live person with bimmerTech to help you everything by email NOT HAPPY the camera was over 600 and still not working as advertised plus no one told me that I would lose my HUD very disappointed

BUYER BEWARE

I purchased the Rearveiw and Frontveiw cameras with the MMI Prime unit for 1300 Never did get it to work Tech support is very friendly once you get ahold of them It is just that they absolutely insisted it was an installation problem I pulled the car apart 6 to 10 times to take pictures and send them Their responses sometimes seemed like they were not following my past messages The messages were email and my replies and responses were there on my computer and easy to go back and reveiw They finally wrote me off and quit responding to me My problem was intermittent so they said I must have wired it incorrectly but it is very simple plug and play The Front camera plug did not work They never offered to replace so I hard wired bypassing the bad plug and it worked But the real problem was the MMI control unit Both cameras worked but not when I put the car in reverse When I needed it to work So if it works when you get it great Beware they will not honor any warranty if it does not I gave up sold the car Scratched the interior broke an interior piece because I had to pull it apart so many times Do not get warm and fuzzy that they respond to bad reviews The question is did they resolve the problem I learned the hard way and am trying to help someone else not to make the same misstake So at your own risk you have been warned Response to BimmertechThere was no damage to the wiring or the unit when I originally installed The damage happened due to the multiple times they asked me to take pictures of the install As well as to me insisting on sending it in 40 Restocking fee minus any damage I paid 1300 for this and expected better customer service Maybe offering to replace the system free of charge Or at least pay for shipping Then there is the part you shipped that I never received and no one their would answer my emails I sold the car for other reasons but this experience took a lot of the fun out of it I STAND BY MY REVIEW Take my word or theirs againYou Have Been Warned

Run for the hills stay away

The experience with Bimmer Tech started out great - which I chalk up to the them getting their money After that - the programmer extremely rude unhelpful and only answer he could give was call tech support After several phone calls I was advised that my wiring harness was bad and needed to replaced the very next day I receive a package in a reused box taped with some craft tape that included 2 wires with no instructions and these wires were not on the original instructions I call again and was told these wires were not needed and a new hat ads would be shipped 2 weeks later - no harness I call again and after 45 minutes was told that there were issues with the logistics department and I would for certain get the harness next week I asked to speak to a supervisor this ordeal has been goin on for 4 weeks - stated supervisor would not be I for another hour and that they would call me Guess what NO CALL I call back the next day to get a tracking number - after 30 mins in the phone they have to call me back They do call to my surprise - but tell me I have everything I need and no new harness would be shipped and that the REP that I spoke to the previous day must have Mia-understood that a new harness would be shipped Customer service after the purchase is worthless Spend you money elsewhere - they will It refund you money for issues such as this and will give you the run around on answers Also now my 328i thinks it s a 4x4 a due to the programming issues I keep getting 4x4 traction control errors in the dash

Refurbished unit warning

Unfortunately I am one of the reviewers with a bad experience I purchased a refurbished MMI prime wireless android auto unit that worked great for about 8 months At this time the screen went completely blank out of nowhere Over multiple weeks of troubleshooting the support was unable to figure out the issue and essentially said that I would have to ship the unit back at my own expense for them to possibly find out what the problem is If they could not I would be forced to purchase a new refurbished unit at the original price I paid for Personally I think that a 550 Christmas deal component meant for the internals of a car should last longer than 8 months and Bimmertech should be more concerned about the quality of their product With the your out of luck attitude I received because the refurbished warranty was only 3 months makes you think this might happen often I will Personally be going to one of their competitors that sells a similar product in the future Update 9 22 2022 I wanted to update my review with regards to the response from Bimmertech as I don t want it to be misconstrued The troubleshooting consisted of two weeks worth of pictures videos updating etc If it was a simple setup issue or connectivity issue they should have been able to assist through their support line Now to address the free of charge diagnosis Unfortunately it doesn t look like trust pilot allows for screenshots but I turned this down because after my initial rating on this website they rescinded their offer and told me I would now be charged 200 if I didn t comply with their demand to remove my review I chose to leave this up as I would like to leave an honest opinion of how this company operates for future customers Keep the above in mind and good luck with your product

DON T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY WITH BIMMERTECHDespite claims fully integrated with the native iDrive display and controller and feels and works like the OEM BMW Apple CarPlay deceptive comparisons that fail to mention MMI limitations and a VIN checker that ensures compatibility the reality is Not Fully Integrated Bimmertech MMI lacked integration with my car s cameras and parking functionality which was a safety issue and practically made parking detection and assist unusable Glitchy Apps would often appear as blank which would only be resolved by rebooting the MMI Songs stopped after 30 seconds if running two apps then would restart from the beginning upon hitting play Horrible Support The installation documentation they sent was incorrect Their website videos were unavailable for several days due to a Youtube account violation our technical support is always ready to help -- except evenings or weekends and only by email Clueless For example The workaround idea they provided regarding cameras was to use the car s memory functions As the presumed experts they should have known that wouldn t work This merely resulted in more wasted time for me They simply don t value your time and when they don t know answers they will essentially be having you perform field testing of their products for them Ridiculously Overpriced Others have posted elsewhere about the price of the MMI versus others Here are two other example indicators as to the degree Bimmertech is gouging customers The Panoramic Screen --- 800 for a non-touch screen taken out of a 2015 BMW The Trim Took Kit --- 29 from Bimmertech that broke versus better quality version I got off of Amazon for 8 Make Them Whole vs Make it Right Bimmertech makes statements like premium all-inclusive service from start to finish so it would be logical to assume as the premium you are paying is for piece-of-mind But you would be wrong Rather than own up to their omissions and mistakes Bimmertech will waste your time hide behind their one-sided Return Policy and then play games with restocking fees and their UAE location Bottom Line Do yourself a favor and avoid Bimmertech Instead just replace the HUD itself doing so will result in better results and cost you less time effort angst and money

I ordered an NBT EVO IF6 retrofit and had Still having quite the experience The ordering process was simple and the unit was shipped quickly After that all the problems started First all three major components including the screen Head Unit and PnP Harness all came with issues The screen came dead on arrival The Harness came with damaged pins and was incorrectly wired by the Bimmer-tech team Finally the head unit came with a broken port that is still affecting my radio The screen was replaced after about a month of wasting my time The PnP Harness took roughly 2 months to consistently talk with customer support to get replaced The head unit has not been addressed and the radio is still having issues After making the changes they requested the radio has more issues 5 months out and still trying to get some kind of refund to compensate for this Customer support is now being unresponsive to me unless I hound them They sent me a defective item and aren t willing to fix it My biggest regret is doing business with this company For all the good I heard about them it sucks to be one of the few that had a horrible experience This might not be your experience but the risk is there for you when buying from bimmer-tech

BimmerTech does not support their products

I paid 299 for a BimmerTech wireless charger and installed it However it would only charge my Pixel 6 Pro for a few minutes and then it would indicate an error with a green blue flashing light I contacted BimmerTech and their response was to google it They found some random discussions about Pixel 6 issues not related to their charger but they didn t bother to test their charger with a Pixel 6 phone When I insisted it was a charger issue they wanted me to send a video of the problem So I sent them a video of the flashing green blue light Then they said they would only exchange the charger for a new one under warranty if I thought the charger was bad So I ordered a charger from Car Qi Wireless 70 by the way and installed it It worked without a problem So I asked for a refund and BimmerTech refuses to refund my money or provide a charger that works with my phone I initially saw the Car Qi charger before buying the BimmerTech charger but thought I would buy in the US where I would expect better support Instead Car Qi has a money back guarantee and BimmerTech won t support their product I won t be spending any money with BimmerTech again

NOT GOOD

They send a used BMW screen 700 not refurbished as they claim the mmi does not work as advertised plus you can buy the same EXACT mmi unit online for less than 300 a total rip-off from Bimmertech I am returning both units mmi and 8 8 used screen for my money back - for 1 300 I expected much more

Stay away from BIMMERTECH

Stay away from BIMMERTECH Got the MMI Prime for my BMW F10 Unit was full of faults from day 1 Ive sent them an endless amount of emails asking them to take back the unit and refund me Even that i requested refund before 14 days EU LAW they are saying if they should take it back they will take ATLEAST 40 of the paid amount I also made a generous two star review of the unit on their webpage two stars for responding customer service but it was never published They only publish the positive reviews unless they are made by themselves MMI PRIME is a relabeled Aliexpress product at a 3x premium price STAY AWAY

I originally posted a positive review after buying an GPS map update For the positive posing I was offered 3 free iDrive mods I chose Delete Legal Disclaimer Full text message posting and M2 Start-up animation Unfortunately they could never make the start animation work as it should and after patiently trying many time to reprogram the iDrive back to default they have never succeeded They repeatedly tried to convince me that it was fine but it just is not the way it was from the factory I would suggest BEWARE of trying to make this change it is especially annoying as it is never something that I would have chosen to do on my own
