This could have been a superb service
This could have been a superb service the product was in stock and shipped super fast Unfortunately I ordered the wrong items The Return Items process appeared to be super easy until I shipped the items using a returns label provided by Buy Spares No contact since Nothing to confirm items received no refund provided and no way to contact them to ask the status Really disappointing

A shambles Double vat charge
As others have noted Despite the ie domain and euro price its a UK company Shipping took weeks and ended up paying Irish VAT anpost handling charge This is on top of the vat presumably UK that buy-spares charge on your order Emailed the company about this and got a reply promising follow up but nothing 4 weeks later

This type of fake Irish website won t last too long you all need to contact The Commission for Communications Regulation Comreg to report this malpractice If you shop directly to a co uk website their shouldn t charge vat for delivery to Ireland as you will be charged by the Irish Customs

Paid nearly the same costs for customs
Paid nearly the same costs for customs as I did for the part Not a EU website UK based so customs apply Misleading website using an ie domain Don t bother raising a ticket with them because it will keep saying that you are raising a new ticket and it goes around in circles never getting an answer Will not use again

This is a scam site
This is a scam site insofar as they proport to be an Irish site but in fact they are UK based This cost me extra in VAT and handling charges which almost doubled the cost of a strimmer cable No reply to questions and would not cancel the order Quick update I found that Kingfisher Inc were the parent company of Buyspares ie and emailed Lorna Dunne at kingfisher I had an apology from Buyspares ie within an hour and a promise to refund the customs charges After about a dozen messages and lots of delays they finally refunded the customs charges today To all who have paid extra I would suggest chasing them through Kingfisher Inc which seems to motivate them

Should have checked first
Should have checked first They ship from UK and don t manage taxes despite having a IE domain name which I feel should be stripped from them You can t claim to have an Irish website selling products if you don t play ball with the Irish tax system It s just a laziness on their behalf plenty of other UK companies have sorted the tax out

Avoid if you are in the Republic of Ireland
Company just set up ie website to con Republic of Ireland customers into buying thinking no vat required They are based in UK so you will end up paying through the nose on even tiny replacement parts Save your money and avoid these con artists

Beware
Buy-spares ie only pretends to be Irish It actually operates from Birmingham UK I recently ordered an electrical part from them The price included VAT payable at the time of ordering When the part arrived in Ireland Revenue raised a second VAT charge payable before delivery I have paid VAT twice over on the same item This is unacceptable
