I ve Bought a 4 year old Davidson s
I ve Bought a 4 year old Davidson s house in ibstock on inspection seemed sound but upon moving in we noticed an issue with ceilings making a cracking sound turns out they had a major issue when building them with acoustic cracking I ve contacted them about it and got told due to the age of the home they wouldn t do anything about it they replaced a number of plots ceilings and floors but only to those who complained even though they new of the problem contacted NHBC who also knew of the problem but again couldn t do anything about it I m left with having to pay 8000 to fix an issue they were well aware of I ve spoken to other residents who still have the same issue but gave up dealing with Davidson s due to other snags Don t be fooled by an NHBC warranty as your home would need to be falling down for it to be coveredWe also have problems with birds being able to access between floors through gaps in the eves through shoddy workmanship again not covered by NHBC and Davidson s don t care buy at your own risk disgustingly bad quality and even worse attitude towards the home ownerPeople considering buying a home on their new sites like grange road hugglescote will see me actively putting off potential buyers when this lock down is over

Do not do it to yourself
I purchased a Davidsons home in January 2019 and still have the vast majority of the snagging issues outstanding even after 18 months of regular chasing Customer care is non-existent and we have been consistently fobbed off Many of the issues are dangerous to my young family and Davidsons have shown a complete disregard to this despite marketing the property as a family home From talking to other residents on my estate and to the various contractors that have been over this is far from an exceptional experience What follows are a selection of the issues we have are experiencing and they are presented in no particular order but I m sad to say that these represent only the tip of the iceberg The front and rear lawns are largely dead and are very dangerous due to large rocks pertruding due to lack of topsoil there is builders waste discarded in the borders and nails sticking out of fence panels where they ve missed supporting joists The hedge at the front of the house had large gaps where care hadn t been taken when it was planted It has allegedly been fixed but doesn t look a lot better When we moved in the primary bathroom leaked through the kitchen ceiling due to poor installation of the bathroom suite The drive and garage regularly flood The standing water froze through winter making the drive incredibly hazardous The cross-hatching on the front windows is poorly designed and has had to be fixed twice already The panel on the dishwasher door supplied by Sherwin Hall of Leicester has repeatedly come away and has already been replaced three times Numerous other kitchen units have had to be replaced due to carelessness during the build The kitchen extractor fan does not work so the kitchen fills with smoke and steam whenever you cook Internal doors are poor fitting and have very large gaps beneath them and are therefore very drafty The house garage were extremely dirty when we moved in so we had to get an emergency clean performed straight away Much or the grout on the bathroom hall floor tiles is stained beyond repair The heating element in the boiler burnt out and tripped the RCU when the engineer came out to replace it he struggled to remove it due to it being poorly installed and very badly mangled The house alarm has stopped working this has been raised but I m still to hear anything Our 500 deposit wasn t returned for nearly 6 months after completion despite constant chasing which involved solicitors and additional costs I have a very young family and haven t had a new build survey performed so the above are just a few of the obvious issues I am sure there are many others which I am yet to discover I chose a Davidsons home as I believed that a new build would suit us as we re time poor and didn t want to spend an inordinate amount of time renovating a house I m sad to say I ve spent an inordinate amount of time battling with Davidsons instead They simply do not respect their customers and I wholeheartedly regret ever buying one of their homes I m only writing this now due to utter exasperation and a last ditch attempt to get them into action I ve held off until now to protect their reputation as I like many others will no doubt one day want to sell the house so a poor reputation will also hit me in the pocket insult to injury

Ruined what should have been a happy experience
Terrible Builders from start to finish or at least until they get your signature on the doted line We had an amazing service from Davidsons Homes when reserving our home in Hanslope They bent over backwards to make a deal work BUT once we exchanged contracts all customer service disappeared We were left to feel like a nuisance On completion day we had the wrong kitchen hob fitted mud caked into our stairs bits of gravel and stones all over the house We were told that they had a cleaning agent in for 5 hours not sure exactly what they were cleaning No offer to rectify any of the cleaning only got a cold bucket of water and attempted to clean the stairs Very much feel once they have your money that is it They asked us to get our side of the transaction completed so they could meet their deadlines for Christmas but they rushed their end and the house reflects that poor decorating unlevel flooring I could go on for awhile We are now 9 months on and finding it difficult to get any communication regarding ongoing snagging and our home looks like it is 5 years old My partner has said he wants to move as the stress and grief they have caused us has ruined what should have been a big milestone for us buying our first home together actually got told by the customer service agent for our development when we had a leak in our ensuite last week that of course this issue had to happen to the ones who always moan Don t be fooled like us and buy in to their 5 builder sales pitch they are no better that most builders

They are not premium Beware
They are not premium Far from it bewareAnother useless company Davidsons homes Apart from nightmares around the house build missing parts bricks not fully erected dangerous nails sticking out in the house and outside on the gates dents cracks dirty at handover they pressure you for a review on the same day you move in so they get 5 reviews There so called family values are rubbish this might be because I m Indian I get treated like rubbish or just generally how they treat people who buy there houses who knows far as I m concerned they cut corners and are no where near premium They own staff say it as well Shocking Please stay away Latest David the site manager said he would sort out the damaged kitchen doors expensive said there were issues with supply 3 5 to 4 months on I emailed Davidsons asking and got this reply Didn t know what to do laughing is all I had -Hello Mr MistryThank you for your email Whilst we fully appreciate your version and comments we have no record of this issue being raised at Courtesy Visit stage and we have no jobs raised on our system This prevents us being able to review this matter further We can assure you that Davidson s have a robust reporting system in place whereby we request all homeowners to raise queries via the instructed channels to avoid confusion and conflict over issues In line with Davidson s warranty procedures and included within our literature it outlines that all issues are to be reported to Post Occupation via telephone and email during the first six months Based on this unless you can provide evidence of such correspondence our stance must remain the same Kind RegardsLindsey Site Support Co-ordinator Customer ServiceT 07920 181583Monday to Friday 08 30 - 13 30Davidsons Developments Ltd Wilson HouseLeicester Road Ibstock LE67 6HP

Terrible builders
Terrible builders brought house in march 2018 alot of silly little snagging issues a few major ones one being the main bathroom toilet has been leaking water under the flooring until we noticed the floor getting wet In February 2021 we had a leak the plumber came out and told us it was due to a pipe not being correctly installed originally as the olive could still move so had never been tightened but as out warranty ran out in March 2020 davidsons accepted no responsibility or liability Joke of a company and ALL flooring downstairs is having to be replaced through insurance

BE AWARE OF THIS HORRIFIC COMPANY We dealt with Alexandra place in Mapperley Nottingham and received the worst customer service I have ever had and this is across the board running throughout the company I do not no how they get away with it We paid a deposit to them and were 1 working day over the contract exchange date fair enough we except this was in the contract but unfortunately we didn t realise so they cancelled our order kept 400 of the 500 deposit and re advertised the house for 6000 more not even a phone call from them Not to mention the horrifying customer service we had through out the 5 weeks of dealing with them so this was deffinatly a blessing in discuise I wish we read all of these terrible reviews before we went ahead as they are all deffinatly true I m sure of that

Davidsons Homes are an absolute disgrace of a company Their greed knows no bounds They will lie to you at every opportunity The company is rotten from top to bottom Their sales people are completely dishonest and no one at Davidsons cares especially not the management and directors Customer service is appallingly bad They go through sales managers and site managers incredibly quickly so there s no coherence to your dealings with them and the staff are quite comfortable lying to you to keep you quiet probably because they know they won t be there for long anyway There are no consequences for the staff that lie to you because Davidsons do not care about it or want to investigate it The Consumer Code for Homebuilders or the NHBC will not protect you They are a scam that is run by the housebuilding companies and are not fit for purpose This industry definitely needs an independent ombudsman to regulate it so these cowboys can t get away with doing whatever they want Buying a home will be one of the biggest decisions you ll make don t let these clowns ruin it for you

I worked for Davidsons for years I ve moved on since but decided to buy a house in Ashby I wish I didn t Moved in dirtyFounds loads of issues walls uneven dents in walls cabinets dented sealant missing scratched tiles uneven grass VERY VERY bad finishing glass scratches flooring damaged beading missing or cut short extractor fan dripping with water on to toilet sink 4in1 tap loose and unstable when been used nails left in wood sliced my 3 year olds finger Davidsons didn t get a s tReally think about buying a Davidsons house I would never recommend them There own staff have said the build quality is low they will get away with what they can Buy at your own riskUpdate - 17 06 2022No response from emails - stink is leaking due to incorrect fittings for 4in1 tap - Davidsons got it wrong shock shock horror No surprises Also - site manager was going to speak to Eddie at head office in Ibstock regarding the nails left in stair woods exposed where it caused injury to my nephew NOT HEARD A THING They are rubbish
