Nice makeover but not perfect

I have a 10 year old kitchen in a home I haven t owned from new and I d never liked the original choice of kitchen I asked my local dream doors to quote me to replace the doors plinths pelmets etc I chose a light grey that I liked and also had a built in dishwasher fitted which had been there originally but the last owner had replaced with free standing The quote was by no means cheap for a days work Arguably you could buy a DIY kitchen off the shelf cheaper but none of the units were standard sizes or I would have replaced them myself I paid 50 upfront and agreed a fitting date The fitters turned up and were friendly enough and worked hard I was working in the next room and advised them as such but had to compete with their radio whilst on conference calls They also asked if they could help themselves to drinks which I didn t mind but didn t expect them to get through most of a 6 tin of coffee I was advised by the showroom that they would only need to get to the hinges of the doors and that the cupboards did not need to be emptied but I wish I had as by the end of the day everything was covered in sawdust food cutlery mugs glasses saucepans etc I had to empty all of the cupboards anyway to clean them out and wash everything in them Most of the cutting was done outside which was great and easy to clean up with the hose but unfortunately they didn t use a dust sheet inside the kitchen so all the mess from outside was walked into the kitchen and left The fitters did work very hard and for the most part the finish was good The only dampener on it was that the kitchen door colour doesn t match the plinths and pelmet etc Some of the door handles are not fitted straight either There was the offer of reaching out to the supplier about the colours and the offer of re-drilling the door handles but I ve left it It s liveable and still looks better than it did Was it worth the money Not really Glad it s done though It does look better I did get a bottle of Prosecco not sure if it was a thank you or an apology either way I don t drink it so if anyone wants a bottle -

Although I am happy with the work

Although I am happy with the work carried out thus far by Dream Doors the delays caused by head office are simply unacceptable First off I am aware that head office went out of their way to divert materials already paid for in storage this resulted in my fit being cancelled the day before it was arranged to do so The following week Dream Doors travelled to the storage unit and collected the materials for my fit that was there however half of it was missing because Dream Doors head office were incapable of ensuring that someone was at the storage unit to sign for the other half and it got sent back to the factory I was then informed it would be delivered to the showroom but this failed to arrive three times so my fit was cancelled once again I know Dream Doors offered to go and pick the material up and try everything they could to get the matter resolved This sorry run events reflects terribly on Dream Doors head office I would like to know the following Why didn t you inform Dream Doors that the material were being sent to storage Why did you keep saying it would be delivered to the showroom three times to then change your minds about delivering it When will you be delivering the materials to the showroom so my kitchen can be fitted I have waited patiently for my kitchen to be completed I have paid monies upfront I know Dream Doors have done all they can but if Dream Doors HQ are holding back materials then this is a problems that needs to be resolved ASAP Customer service and communication are key I will upload another review shortly - I just hope this gets resolved

Feel let down by Dream Doors Walsall

Dream Doors Walsall said our new kitchen would take 5 days to 5 days to complete it actually took 2 weeks 3 days with 3 jobs still outstanding at that time Last jobs finally completed on Wednesday 3 May 6 weeks in total However the big issue was a glass cooker hood that for no obvious reason shattered with such force it damaged the hob and worktop Initially franchise manager Ross Bradley told me I would have to get it sorted out through my own insurance and after a couple of weeks of fobbing me off I was left with no alternative but to threaten legal action at which point the glass cooker hood was replaced at dream doors expense The last communication we had with Ross Bradley was on 12 June 2017 Today being 5 July at which time he said he would repair the damage caused to the hob and worktop when the glass cooker hood shattered Since then we have heard nothing from Dream Doors The finished kitchen looks OK it took longer than we were promised and the damage to worktop hob has tarnished it If you choose Dream Doors for your new kitchen be prepared for a fight if anything goes wrong The level of customer service did not match initial promises and did not come up to expectation I would not recommend Dream Doors

You will not save up to 50 less than fully fitted kitchen

Good friendly service quality looking products to show however I decided to not go ahead with the work for the simple reason it being too expensive If interested you may notice they say up to 50 less than a fully fitted kitchen I understand the whole up to BUT the saving wasn t even close for example they were 10 cheaper than a whole new kitchen refit from Wren and not even a pound cheaper then a whole new howdens kitchen fitted by a local tradesman When I mentioned this to them I was told well we don t claim to be the cheapest not that it was ever mentioned by myself they did

Great sales pitch and knowledgable

Great sales pitch and knowledgable Congrats to Nick Everything went well until installation Broke the range moving it seems the requirements weren t conveyed sufficiently to the installation team so we had some misunderstandings Installation schedule was stretched and we had no sink for 5 days when we expected 3 All in all it was verging on satisfactory Range was replaced by them

I used dream doors a bout 18 month ago

I used dream doors a bout 18 month ago I was totally satisfied with the work that was carried out and the shop that was local to me was amazingly helpful and professional but recently found a bleb in one of my draws so as it still under manufactures warranty contacted dream doors to replace said draw front but on my understanding they were very reluctant to do so as it was below the hob and said they don t cover anything near heat or water and my draw doesn t even get warm as its not that near the hob plus the overhang of the worktop protects ot come on dreamdoors it s a kitchen where water and electric are so check before you buy9

Poor customer service

We were promised an excellent service at the initial meeting for choosing of worktops doors sinks etc for our kitchen makeover Late in the afternoon 2 days before the fitting was to commence we were informed they could not get the worktops we had ordered We had placed the full order 5 mths earlier If we were to look at an alternative then they could get this in 2 days time but we didn t want to have an alternative so miraculously they managed to find the one we wanted No one actually informed us of this from the showroom it was one of the fitters when he turned up later on in the day Once the work began t became apparent that one of the doors had been measured wrong Now all the measurements had been taken on the initial meeting then a short time after this another member of staff visited to make sure all the measurements were correct and if any extra work would be involved We were told the door would be a few days before it would be with us and the work commenced After about 4 days all work was completed except for the missing door Nearly two weeks passed before we heard anything about the missing door and that was only to inform us that they d received a door but it was damaged and another one was been ordered ASAP Eventually a week or so later they informed us the door had arrived and when can they fit it after they fitted the final door they were quick off the mark in asking for the final settlement the next day with no thought about all the delay and stress we d gone through The work started in February and didn t finish completely until the end of March This company seems to have a serious problem with customer service and communicating updates on your progress with your project The quality of the products we chose are excellent but it was soured by being left in the dark over how things were progressing Also the staff don t like you challenging them over your disappointment of the ongoing situations

Disappointed in some ways

The product and quality is great But the replacement doors are not the right size which we raised our old doors were the right size so not sure why they are not the same the new parts of the kitchen are fine but wanted a perfect finish for the price we paid We had used them before but a different branch Aldridge and they were great fitting a whole new kitchen in our previous house We used the branch in Lichfield this time love the kitchen but wanted a better finish with sizes so sadly won t use again

Dreams can be happy or nightmares Beware

The products from Dream Doors seem to be good However some of their distributors can turn the Dreams into something towards nightmares The Wootton Basset branch present well BUT are let down by poor communications and some of their fitters are not as good as they could be When the old worktops were removed they did not bother to check that the cabinets were level and thus when the seriously expensive new worktops were fitted they dipped by as much as 4mm in places One of the fitters damaged the front of a built-in oven numerous small dents and scratches Despite many calls to the company we have never had any contact back to apologise They forgot to order a set of drawer fronts so we had to wait weeks before they could be fitted The work has now finished but the hurt lives on Treat with caution in our opinion
