There is a lot that could be said about EF but ultimately it was a big let down for me AND its very misleading I signed up for the intensive 25 courses for four weeks Well for four weeks i was surrounded by teens and very young adults Obviously their goal and my goals to learn Spanish are not the same They are there to party and have a great time No judgement to them but when you are an adult and you fought hard to get time off to go study abroad AND you have to pay your own money you are determined Well for four weeks it wasn t intensive part of the issue is that the teachers have to redirect and get the teens to focus a lot of wasted time there At the end of my experience i expressed my let down and how i was misguided about the 25 adults the response was im sorry i should have emphasized that you may be in class with teenagers It felt like EF didnt care So if you are an adult and you want take a Spanish immersion program and really learn EF is not the program for you EF is not for those who want to take an intensive course and with other like minded folks who are eager to learn It is not worth the money at all Save your money and look elsewhere 2 5 stars because the teachers and staff in Barcelona were great and they helped me get books and suggested things to do outside of the classroom to improve my spanish When i expressed my disappointment about the program they mentioned that this wasnt their first time hearing it

The water in the shower was constantly either hot or cold there wasn t any sope when I got there and you couldn t go for a second round for food The teachers were really nice

I wish the coursework and leveling up was explained to me before traveling that you typically move up a level each month I had studied prior to traveling and even when explaining to the admin that I had already studied the current grammar I only got moved up one level to grammar I had also previously studied I also felt that the activities were not always planned or explained well and even at the location there was very little information that was given as a tour explanation For the amount of money spent I felt like I gained little knowledge and experience back

The classes and teachers were nice I believe I could have went in a upper level but it was still good in my class Unfortunately my host family was the main problem First it was very far from school and the way in train took us too much time And then the lady of the family made us do the cleaning of the kitchen and bathroom 3 times in 3 weeks and said we were the only one that made those rooms dirty there were 4 others EF students in this house with my roommate and I and also she didn t give us food for the breakfast and in the weekend except dinner She wasn t very nice to her too Also we didn t have intimacy as she could enter our room at any moment and take some of our belongings These facts were not presented to us by EF before we went to this family And finally I think the activities could have been way better as I experienced it with EF Munich last year The staff was nice too but they didn t do a thing about our host family I think it was a good trip because I visited the city as I wanted but the price of this trip was way to high for what I experienced in Berlin

The course does not match our expectations It is expected to be taught by native speakers instead of mainland teachers when studying in Brisbane In addition students of different nationalities will participate in the course introduction but in the end all the groups are Hong Kong people

We enrolled our teen in the Reef Regeneration and Conservation Down Under tour to Australia They did not provide what was described All of the STEM work was cut from the trip except 1 program which was at an elementary level -- Two of the places they planned to go were closed One of the projects was so easy that they ended up canceling the second half Also the food was very basic and American like pizza and spaghetti It was not what you would expect for a trip that cost 6 000 On the plus side the tour guide was great everyone was safe and accommodations were clean I reached out to EF via phone and they told me to email a manager I emailed a manager and they said they were sorry that I was disappointed but they will not issue any refund

When the company got questions they get an answer from me immediately do I have questions I can t contact the agent who handles everything no I ve got to contact their customer support who got no idea what I m talking about and I ve gotta explain them everything from scratch 2 stars because the agent was friendly at first contact until they received part of the money then she was unavailable I hope my daughter s educational trip will be better than my booking experience

My family s intention was to host an exchange student to help our young children learn about different cultures and connect with a student Unfortunately the experience was not what we expected Our student prioritized friends over our family since she arrived and we rarely saw her unless we had something special planned travel tickets to an event dinner at a restaurant etc She did not show much interest in connecting with my kids which was unfortunate because that was the reason that we signed up to host After taking her on vacation for the holidays she decided to move in with a friend shortly after we returned from our trip While my children weren t especially bonded and did ok with the transition it s still confusing for them and frustrating for me Overall the 6 months that our student was here was very costly for us We felt more like we were running a bed and breakfast than participating in a cultural exchange although without the financial compensation as EF does not offer any sort of host family stipend I feel like we encountered a level of ingratitude and entitlement from our exchange student that I had not expected and that what we had to offer our student was received with judgement and snobbishness While the staff that I encountered at EF were kind and helpful we had a difficult 6 months I wish that I had had more realistic expectations when I signed up to host and hope this review is helpful to others I m sure there are many families who have wonderful experiences but that was not the case for us

Lots of things to say First the school facilities are very spacious however the bathroom is very dirty and the food is very bad The food had no variety In addition the meal times were exactly the same schedule as your classes So you will have to choose between eating or taking classes On the other hand I didn t like the classes because were mixed in age some classmates were 40 years old Also without mentioning that there is a teacher who made racist comments and made fun of the students However the staff was very nice and above all flexible Finally as a recommendation I would have loved to have more free school activities inside the school to interact with young people my age

What a deception What should be a dream come true is in reality a big disappointment Dear efeducationfirst you promised my daughter friend 3 person room in efbrighton and since 3 days I am talking every day with you efnederland and you are not helpful at all Iam sorry it is high season and we are fully booked is your answer I trusted that you are a big company trustful but looks like your service and promises are valid until you sign the contract and paid the more than 3K for 3 weeks After it you dont care our kids problem I hope with this message you will hear me and make an action Besides that the hygiene and food are under the standards which normal people should live It looks like a shelter place for refugees
