No one answers the phone or emails

Seems there s no one to answer the telephone nor to reply to emails I ve sent three emails asking for confirmation they ve received my renewal payment-still no response I won t be renewing next time Poor service

Claim process took over two months After contacting customer service twice I ve received reply that they will not pay for my claim They are good just to take your money don t care about your pet Avoid this company

Pointless

Took out insurance policy for Kakariki and was lead to believe that can claim for anything including routine check up appointments Requested claim for check up appt for Rio and was adv that policy doesn t cover it i guess that you need to pay extra if you want to claim for basics which is ludicrous Will keep policy the now but unlikely to renew typical insurance company if they find a way not to pay out they won t extremely disappointed

Not paying for vet costs

I took my parrot to the vet a couple of years ago with skin infection at renewal one of the exceptions is now skin condition so if my parrot ever have it again I could not claim for it and now after my parrot has barber his feathers to believed to be due to anxiety exotic direct has decided that this is a behavioral issue due to the medication given as my parrot is healthy otherwise and they will not pay the over 700 on vets fees that I have spend Unfortunately there is no other insurances that insure birds in the UK other ways I will not insure with them

My parrot passed during Friday night

I ve been with this company for years My parrot passed during Friday night Called company to ask advice closed so emailed no reply so called vets for advice told best to take a photo and then bury my bird Did all that well breaking my heart Phoned them first thing this morning only be told by reception that should have post mortem with in 72 hours I just broke my heart I can t dig him up I just can t I ve put the claim form in Will leave it with themIt s 18th oct 2023 just had email from exotic direct they will not pay my claim Company isn t there for customer

Incredibly disappointed

What can I say I am with this I durable since 2003 which is Avery long time I always had my pet snakes insured without any issues I have added snakes without extra costs I have removed others when they passed away I now wanted to add a new ball Python and been told that I can have her added with extra costs On the website it states that I can include 3 snakes on one policy without extra costs Customer service is inpatient ignoring my questions and not being very helpful at all It is almost impossible to bring my request through without it being an extremely painful and stressful experience If I have to pay extra money for each snake what is the point of having them all on one policy It makes more sense having a policy for each of them At least I would have them insured for 1 000 each a year instead of 1 000 together a year The premium is the exact same Because I said I am getting freaking stressed about this all I was threatened that if I am rude she will disconnect the call on which I hanged up now because if I cannot even say the word freaking which btw is NO swear word and can be found in any dictionary as a valid expression as wording then I no longer want to speak either And I only said that I am getting g freaking stressed because after I asked one question for about an half hour without any answer given I was getting freaking stressed about that and still am I am extremely upset about this experience Exotic direct was superb one time sadly it has gone down the hill very badly I am now will be looking to find another insurance which accepts snakes as for me I am done

Immoral shysters conning exotic pet owners with bogus policies

Exotic Direct is a scam operating under the pretence of a pet insurance company Having made consistent payments for my parrot for the last 7 years I was of the understanding that the stress of unexpected vets bills were contained within my policy Imagine then how shocked I was when my parrot developed a feather condition which required 730 of blood tests and my claim was rejected It turns out that the TCs of the policy are so convoluted that there seems to be a clause for pretty much every eventuality to ensure there is no risk of Exotics Direct paying out Advice to anyone looking to cover the vets bills for their exotic spend the equivalent amount you would spend on an Exotics Direct policy by paying a reputable insurer or pop it into a savings account To be fair you can do anything you like with the money just don t hand it over to these crooks

This company is a scam

This company is a scam I phoned while standing in the vets to see if the operation she was about to receive was covered I was told that they were 99 sure it was but I would have to put a claim in to be 100 I asked the representative twice and again she said yes So i went ahead with the surgery Turns out that there was a clause that didn t cover it and now I am left with a 900 bill that I can not afford I disputed their decision and they stilll said they won t pay out even after listen to to call where i was told i was covered They mislead me in to thinking i could go ahead with the operation They are very quick to tell you to go to the Financial Ombudsman if i am not happy which is very suspicious to me My liitle budgie made it through her operation but died of complications a week later As you can see in the reply below even though i was told that i would be covered they will not honour it and say i need to speak to the ombudsman If you tell some one the operation is covered you should honour what they have been told not palm the off to the ombudsman Please all change the search engine to most recent review and you will see that since they were taken over recently they have upset alot of people
