Drop shippers

I first visited here Worcester shop 18 months ago straight after I had to sadly say goodbye to my 14 year old Rottie Benny I bought a beautiful red tailed shark and quickly named him Benson He s thriving Fast forward to today me and my wife drove from Gloucester to take a look at possible new tank mates We weren t greeted at all on arrival no biggie just not good customer service or at all polite We continued to browse and came across a few very murky looking tanks A little further on there was a tank with about 20 fish of which 5 were on their sides on the bottom struggling I went and said to one of the staff that there were a few casualties in said tank The response I got was unbelievable Yes we know We had 40 delivered yesterday and that s all that s left they were poorly I was enraged A life is life even if it is only a poor little fish Why were they not removed just left to be gorged on It really upset me and I will never return I sadly was too angry to take photos I wish I had Maidenhead Aquatics need to choose staff that care

Wasn t going to write anything but felt

Ordered a wave maker as mine died and they advertised next day delivery I didn t get next day delivery It turned up 2 days later It turns out they re just a drop shipper and their supplier actually fulfills the order on their behalf They offered a 30 refund to compensate the corals I lost Which would not cover replacement I emailed them picture of the corals and they dropped their offer to 10 I replied highlighting my disgust and they have not bothered to reply Don t order from them if you need an item urgently

Zero response from staff

Wasn t going to write anything but felt just to get off my chest here goes I m new to aquatics but as anything I choose to do in life If I m gonna do it il do it properly and become an absolute geek in the topic I m hooked already and really look forward to the precious 1 day I have off per week to do fishy stuff I ve spent over 200 quid in your store at DOBBIES Nuneaton in the last 2 weeks but promise I won t be spending a penny more After the 1st visit I thought maybe your staff are having an off day but 2nd visit today and no it wasn t they just cannot be bothered 3 staff stood behind counter in a tiny store do not engage with people you have to go get them from the counter if you want something Today one of the guys even raised his eyes in despair that I was asking him to come get some fish for me to buy I manage a retail business obviously not the same area but if my staff made someone feel the way I did trying to SPEND MONEY in your store today they would be on warning and retraining being done The 3 in there do not care aren t bothered about customers if they spend or not I d be interested to see if they are one of your better selling stores because I d put my FISH on it they are down at the bottom half of your spreadsheet Anyway I ve never found it so hard to spend MONEY And in this store inparticular will never again You gotta do better than this guys And if the guy wants to know who I am then I m the guy asking silly questions about shrimp that seemed to have annoy him

Nerite snails

Upon arrival we greeted your staff and received zero response One staff member was sat behind the counter on his phone whilst the other looked asleep with her head on the desk My partner tried to speak with them a second time and was met with a blank stare and zero communication once again Lots of dead fish in tanks and the staff do not seem at all bothered Absolutely appalling service won t be visiting here again

Nerite Snails

We purchased 3 nerite snails but after 7 days they still haven t moved and although they are not deceased yet they do not appear to be in a healthy condition We already have 3 nerite snails in the tank which are very active and feeding well so it s not a tank condition problem Will not be purchasing any fish from here again

Avoid like the plague

Update as advised we contacted the relevant store and were told to return the snails as there had been an issue with that batch of Nerite Snails They would refund us the cost On returning them with the receipt we were told we could only have a credit note as this was the policy for livestock returns This means that if you return unhealthy or dead livestock which you shouldn t have been sold in the first place the company will still keep your money

Price Match Guarantee is nonsense and

Steer clear from these amateurs Every time I ve visited one of the shops always find dead fish or diseased ones marine fish are cramped into tiny tanks no surprise they lose so many staff have little to no real experience and have no interested in being there Save your money and avoid disappointment

Very disappointed with fish from here

Went to my local Maidenhead aquatics I go every week and buy plants fish etc I needed a new filter for my isolation tank and always noticed the price guarantee banner in store asked the chap in the store if it included filters and he looked at me like a bit of crap on his shoe and sulkily said depends on where its from and we add delivery charge anyway showed him the filter 10 cheaper from a wel known online retailer He then said nah that retailer ain t on my list confused why the well known retailer wasn t on their list I mentioned that they are a massive aquatic company he huffed and puffed them remarked that he actually found them He mentioned straight away that although the item was eligible for free delivery they have to add the delivery charge anyway to the price match He then argued that the item was out of stock although it showed clearly 2 in stock At this time a que was forming and the embarrassment was something I ve never experienced this chap was gearing up for a full blown argument about a 10 saving on price matching a filter the sulky and bad attitude from this guy just made the entire price match ordeal embarrassing argumentive and uncomfortable they really didnt want to price match and tried everything to argue with me In the end after he had interrogated my phone with his dirty hands I just brought the fish and plants and told him to keep the filter he then sarcastically said well its a different filter anyway which it wasn t I ended up buying the same one from pets at home store after I left for 18 cheaper anyway as the had a offer on I m glad this happened anyway as i am in the process of adding a marine setup to my hobby and had planned on using Maidenhead aquatic s to purchase a new set up etc I will now go elsewhere its been a blast spending silly amounts of money with you Maidenhead you ve lost a consistent customer that spends and will be spending a decent amount of money in the future over your staff having a huge chip on their shoulder and not honouring your advertised price match promise and or making it embarrassing and difficult to engage with

Bought 4 Mollies cost me 15 had water

Very disappointed with fish from here Brought 6 tetras and within 48 hours 3 were dead Took them back and had them replaced these are now dead less than a week later Brought 3 gouramis at same time and also 2 of these are dead and 3rd dying All other fish I had before are fine and water is testing as good Asked for refund and in the end they reluctantly gave a credit note to spend on more fish Why would I want to buy more fish from this company after my son spent 40 and only has 2 fish left Would have been nice to have a cash refund given my young son had saved his pocket money for these fish and was so excited now he dreads getting up in a morning to see dead fish
