The advertised promo code are generous and legit All charges are transparent to buyer The packages are professionally wrapped However I dislike the fact that it would take FJ 2 days to ship out the packages after charge 2 is confirmed If they could improve on the lead time it would make them a 5 stars proxy service provider All in all I have good experience with FJ and will continue to use their service

I am a US buyer and someone who regularly buys through Japan proxies aside from this one I also use Buyee sometimes As FJ s Shogun member I buy way too much I can definitely explain this service very well to anyone who s looking for info as I ve used them for at least four years In terms of pricing FJ is easily the best proxy around as long as you use a credit card and you have 0 foreign transaction fees PayPal has an awful conversion rate and a 4 hike for converting and Buyee automatically has the 4 fee on their site so you can t avoid it Other proxies in my opinion are irrelevant as they re all way too expensive or require deposits to purchase FJ has the 300 yen charge per item and that s it FJ regularly has coupons as well as special coupons for Shogun members which add up to big savings and make the item cheaper to purchase than if you lived in Japan Depending on the sites you frequent FJ may or may not be the best option If you purchase from Rakuten Mercari or Rakuma FJ is the best due to the frequent sales and coupons provided for those sites If you want to negotiate a seller through Rakuma FJ no longer allows it due to them being an official partner which is very unfortunate Yahoo Auctions is a toss-up but FJ has the advantage due to no extra fees automatically added I use Buyee though to browse Yahoo Japan and favorite items as FJ s version is not good You can also have FJ contact a seller for negotiation which is nice For shipping FJ falters here in pricing Buyee in general is cheaper in shipping items the only upside to FJ is if you have multiple items you don t have to pay for consolidation or wait for it it s automatically done for you For packaging I have never had issues with FJ and they are usually packed very well I only buy clothes and shoes so fragile items I m not able to speak for but even for my items the packaging has been sturdy which I prefer because anything can happen during transit even to non-fragile items Lastly let s talk about Customer Service FJ for me always answers the following business day or due to timezone differences the same day They generally are helpful but also somewhat robotic in nature don t expect luxury experience customer service here even as one of their Shogun members In conclusion if you mainly shop from Japan aside from Mercari FJ is the top option as of this review Buyee is a close second but their automatic 4 hike on prices keeps them from ever reaching 1 In general if you are buying extremely fragile bulky items it is a risk due to the transportation from Japan so always understand the risks there UPDATE As Capital One cards now work on this site I have removed the above situations that made it impossible to use CO Also FromJapan does now accept Mercari which gives even more reason to use them

I usually never post reviews but this last experience has left me dissatisfied Prior to this I really enjoyed FromJapan they have a great interface and usually respond quickly to inquiries Unfortunately this last package has led me to the decision to leave them as a proxy I placed an order for two bulk goods lots weighing roughly 8kg each and I emailed customer service after it was received to the warehouse asking if they could remove the items from the box the seller sent it in as FromJapan did not remove the box when shipping the last time which made the volume weight very high They agreed to let the warehouse know and suggested I follow up later I noticed the price dropped 30 in shipping so I figured they had removed the box and I paid for charge 2 emailing again hoping to confirm that they had removed the boxes I got no response to my second email and lo and behold when I got my package the items had not been removed from their boxes and it was packed in a box FAR larger than it needed to be I understand that these are bulk lot goods but both of the sellers for these items had separated everything into bags and it would have been fairly easy to repack everything to fit into a smaller box Instead I got a massive flimsy box with two heavy cardboard boxes placed side by side that had tons of space around them unnecessarily To top it off the seller of the bulk lots packaged the items with protection so it was just packaging on top of packaging I am switching to a proxy service that charges a nominal fee for repacking or one that actually weighs the items after they re packed and not some automatic estimation as I believe the shipping charge would be more authentic to the actual dimensions and weight rather than what fromjapan s system did I have one more package to send out that has another bulk goods lot in it and I will try and be clearer on what I would like packing wise but I m not holding out hope Overall it is disappointing as I really liked this proxy but I will be moving to ZenMarket or Remambo after these last two packages UPDATE FromJapan reached out and we were able to come to a solution regarding shipping costs for this package For their prompt response and professionalism in handling my issue I have updated my rating I do think that there could be some type of improvement in regards to packing requests as some of the other proxies have an option to leave requests on the shipping page itself but if you are not buying bulk lots this tends to be a reliable service

Great 4-5 years of buying from them Packing is nice and shipment fee was acceptable to me Order processing is fast and also delivered without issue except once when they delivered wrong item to me and ask me to send it back to them But after the two horrible experience within months with their customer service I am not planning to use them anymore Edit Replying their reply as they obviously don t get my issue with them My issue is not with the error My issue is with how the error is dealt with The first one last year took weeks to resolve and it is obvious the customer service was getting impatient from their reply I was going on a holiday and had hoped it will resolved before I went for my holiday However it dragged on and I had to deal with the customer service while on holiday because they keep setting deadlines on reply In the end it was resolved by what they first suggested but forgot in the process but still have the face to tell me how it is an exception I emphasis they were the one who gave me the suggestion first to send to a local address which i did The next proxy manage to do it with zero issue The second time is the one that they were mentioning which I also had issue with the reply more than the error made After the first experience I had no confidence and time to deal with their customer service hence I just get the refund through paypal However their reply is to threaten me using the T C that will suspend my account if I do it again I found the reply awfully rude Hence I do not want to buy from them anymore Update on 1 Jun Polite that another customer service agent cut in to accuse me that I had been told not to pay for charge 2 when I already paid before I was told not to and it was not marked prohibited Btw it was not an error the flip-flopping happen 2-3 times but i also made mistakes so whatever The only thing that I am greatful for is that they did their exception send it to a domestic address received item with zero issue the other shipper didn t even give a single problem

I ve used FJ twice and so far I ve liked the services Wished that the fees and 2nd charge wouldn t be a bit tad expensive But overall very satisfied

I m quite surprised by the volume of abysmal reviews over customer service I m on my 24th order now and made perhaps over half a dozen bespoke requests All of which have been reciprocated in no more than two days with stereotypical Japanese courtesy and industriousness Though there was one instance where I still hold a grunge against FromJapan as I ll soon mention I see complaints over the shipping container sizes being too large but how many layers of protection in the form of bubble wrap and packing foam could you forgo before the contents are damaged during transit These reviews inadvertently have an effect on those who wish to insure their assets at the cost of a slightly higher shipping fare including myself who was less than thrilled when three camera lenses came in a package no thicker than a cereal box If you re already forking out a substantial amount for a high value item that will break when dropped expect a shipping fee to boot Other than sneakers and beanie baby s there aren t a lot of exceptions to note FromJapan if you re reading this please remind your employees to pack fragile shipments correspondingly Thankfully the lenses were not compromised which could be a testament to excellent logistical handling but better safe than sorry

I ve enjoyed a few perks such as the free package consolidation low service fees friendly customer services etc The only issue faced was the bank fee charge for auctions and it s domestic shipping fee which tends to make charge 2 expensive a painful experience Overall generally a good proxy service good alternative to other proxies like Buyee etc

I have been using FromJapan FJ Proxy buying and bidding auctions services for more than 5 years My experiences with FJ have generally been pretty good Their packaging for consolidation is pretty secure and my items usually arrives in good condition and are well-protected In addition their response for buying services is quite fast as well I really liked how FromJapan has shifted to using a flat rate for their usage fees so that everything is now quite transparent and there are no hidden fees It used to be rather complicated so this change is a plus However the recent change to the Product Protection Plan by charging 300 yen for every item ordered meant that it is also getting more expensive to use their services to buy in bulk I much preferred the old system where we could choose to use this service 700 yen or not 0 yen It was also per order which is much better than the per item now I do hope FJ can consider going back to having the Product Protection Plan as per order rather than the per item Overall FJ is a reliable proxy buying bidding service
