A 2000 seat was just dumped at my

A 2000 seat was just dumped at my door No communication from the carrier - which was promised by Gillies I m old and had to wrestle with the chair to get it into the house Very displeased Subsequently had discussion with Gillies who initially offered to refund half the delivery cost - ie 50 I refused and very quickly the compensation was increased to 100 which covered the delivery cost Well done to Gillies for dealing with the issue so promptly

Dissatisfied Customer

Very disappointed we had most of our downstairs flooring replaced which started on 16 9 24 it s now 28 10 24 and I m still waiting on thresholds to be fitted Part of the problem was the flooring I d chosen as the manufacturer didn t supply thresholds to match their flooring however during the sale the salesman forgot to mention this really If I d been informed of this I would definitely of chosen another manufacturer flooring with thresholds to match to eliminate the situation I now find myself in I have chosen thresholds but still waiting for these to be fitted I will update this when my thresholds are eventually fitted

On the Fence

Beautiful good quality furniture However let down by suit delivered with damaged not picked up beforehand suggesting goods are not adequately checked before delivery Or they are checked but delivered regardless which would be a more major concern Will give the benefit of the doubt and will update this review upon resolution of the issues

Mental Health Customer

I was helping someone with mental health issues to buy a bed mattress and mattress protector The purchase was paid for however the next day the customer contacted me to say she didn t want it I asked her why she was cancelling it but was unable to get a response I contacted Gilles immediately and the salesperson was not pleased which I can understand as a lot of time had been put into this purchase I was informed that 200 had been lost due to this cancellation also that the customer was banned from the shop which I found disgusting as already mentioned the customer has mental health issues Hopefully this ban will be lifted

Purchase of replacement mattress

I bought a replacement king size mattress Choice was good delivery period and delivery service good but very expensive However the mattress we tried in store did not represent what was delivered in that the new one was much firmer I have had to get a soft top to attempt to make this comfy We should have asked how long this mattress had been in store A costly error

Issue with removal and disposal of old

Issue with removal and disposal of old carpet It was not made clear to me by the salesman at Gillies Broughty Ferry that the old carpet and underlay was to be removed before the fitters turned up with the new carpet Turned out this detail was buried in the fine print in the invoice Had no choice but to pay additional cost to have old carpet and underlay removed by fitters or they wouldn t fit the new carpet Fitters did an excellent job fitting the carpet

Delivery of desk chair

Delivery was fine and very much on time Whether the delivery men wheeled the chair up my path or not I don t know but when they put it down on my newly laid Gillies carpet they left 5 dirty marks on the carpet I didn t notice those until they had gone Fortunately the marks washed off fairly easily but a little more care might have been exercised

Service in Aberdeen store was great

Service in Aberdeen store was great Carpets came and they didn t have enough More ordered and arrangements were made for fitting the following week first thing As no show by 10 30 I phoned to be told carpet was coming from Dundee and wouldn t be till lunchtime Morning wasted Carpet is lovely but not entirely happy with the bar at the door - already looks bent

Poor customer service

Whilst flooring was installed well workman s machinery sprayed compressor oil all over our newly painted wall Gillies did not deal with this issue very well initially as they refused to offer goodwill and failure to engage with me to resolve this whole sorry mess They did resolve this in the end

4 week delay after having to reorder

4 week delay after having to reorder due to sofa being too large Received an email saying the stock had arrived but after phoning to check was told it would be another 4 weeks due to a manufacturing issue Waited 6 months in total Still to receive vouchers as no compensation offered Sofas themselves are good quality and happy with them now they had arrived
