Not competent enough

Only the first cleaning was alright then everything going down the hill The cleaner cake almost 15mins late keep answering phone and talking on mobile almost use window cleaner to my expensive wood table and almost use cloth from toilet to clean my bathroom She was cleaning everything in hurry I already told to focus on kitchen and bathroom but my kitchen surface still very sticky in some part on top of microwave still very dusty She didn t move some easy things on kitchen top and table in bedroom whilst dusting wiping When I took one bottle the dust still very thick there I already mentioned that I paid 4 hrs so if you come late you have to make up the hours I still at home after 2 5 hrs cleaning and she already almost finish and I said please be more details if you have time I left the house for a while and came back 30mins before 4 hrs due if she make up her lateness time and she was already stop cleaning and just moved around and asked me to check I spot some part still dirty on floor She cleaned it again and I emphasise again you still have 30mins as you were late However she just moved around for 10mins and started to put her clothes back ready to leave My husband asked if she had already mopping the floor She said yes but we didn t smell any flooring detergent that we normally could smell for hours after every cleaning The floor felt still sticky and not clean Anyway I let her go home early as I didn t want to keep anyone that didn t feel like cleaning Please do not send Farida again I m currently looking for routine forthrightly cleaner but from the 3 cleaners Gleam have sent none of them really met the standard of professional cleaner that I used to have The first was good but her availability was hard as she was also full time worker The 2nd was just adequate and need lot of instructions and the last one was the worst None of them have been really trained properly to be a competent professional cleaner though I doubt if they are having any insurance if causing any damage or lost

I would of given them 1 star only for there prompt ish reply I booked as a new customer after reading there online FAQ S i booked a afternoon slot as id be home to meet the cleaner but sadly my work rota changed I tryed to cancel online at 10am Sat morning clean booked 15 30 monday there online system said i cant change or cancel online as to late Yet there email says within 48hrs Gleam sent me cleaners number so i sent her message and she was happy to slot me in a few days later perfect for me The day of the clean the cleaner arrived on time i showed her round and where cleaning products where etc This where it went wrong She took a duster and kitchen spray to the bathroom wiped them took same unwashed duster to my kitchen She never took any cleaning products at all only a dudter to wipe the kitchen spray away Granted i told her not to do one of 3 bedrooms for someone was on nights asleep still My clean was for 2hrs and this cleaner was done in 45mins up and down she never changed bins dust anywhere She even put the empty floor cleaner back under the sink Shes told me when i greeted her at door that i live too far for her she slated 2 of her older clients off Complained to gleam and yes its hard to contact them only by e-mail had a withheld call from same woman Askin for photos which i took They took the money but also semt a refund in full the same say I womt use gleam again because of this there cleanees are not vetted in my opinion I only got a reply after i told them the payment has been put on hold pemding a outcome My advice is look around more I found a new lical cleaner for same price

Refunded unfair fee after I gave them a poor review

My original review said Dishonest and had the following text Their website says no hidden fees and no contract or fees But if you dig into their terms and conditions it says that if you choose a recurring cleaning you have to pay a 48 cancellation fee no matter how much notice you give This was not clearly spelled out The cleaner cancelled the first time and didn t stay the full time the second time so I cancelled the service and then I discovered they want to charge me 48 I believe terms conditions need to be fair and cancellation fees are only allowed to cover actual business losses They then sent me this message Hi We re sorry you have been unhappy with the service and it s understandable given the circumstances that you are not happy paying a cancellation fee We ve seen your trust pilot review and given the circumstances on this occasion we d be happy to waive the fee and offer you a free hour off the cost of your next booking should you decide to give us a chance to get you set up with a great cleaner in your area Although cancellation fees are very normal when making recurring bookings we d hope that if you re happy with this as a resolution you would be happy to remove the review Do let us know and hopefully we can get this resolved as soon as possible Warm regards Gleam Team I then edited the review from one star to two stars - it s still not reasonable to have to complain on trustpilot to get action on a fee that shouldn t be there in the first place although it s better than nothing

Unreliable for one-off cleans

I ve booked 3 one-off cleans with GLEAM The first went fine logistically and the cleaner did a decent job the mirrors were streaky but the floors were clean However on the next two occasions GLEAM sent a confirmation email with both the time I d booked and a different time only a day or two prior I do not always have the flexibility to have appointments changed at the last minute and found this frustrating On the third occasion the same thing happened with two confirmation times being sent and in the end the cleaner never showed up for either time I tried to contact GLEAM and requested a call back and no one ever followed up with me I only received a cancellation email after the appointment was supposed to take place to explain that the cleaner could not come in due to personal reasons and GLEAM offered a discount on my next clean However since I do not have flexibility to have appointments moved on me I will not be using this company again

Gleam does not appear to be very considerate of its cleaners

Gleam does not appear to be very considerate of its cleaners I had two cleaners and they both quit in frustration Gleam placed a lot of attention on communicating with me as a customer many emails etc - which was great but I heard multiple times from my cleaners that Gleam failed to provide them with important information leading them to waste their time or to frustrating mis-communication I provided suggestions to Gleam to improve their services e g they can conduct exit interviews to find out why cleaners are leaving they can improve their communication processes with cleaners It would be great if they made some changes to increase the satisfaction of their cleaners because the idea of the business is a good one

House not cleaned properly

The cleaner didn t clean the house properly and did everything to finish as soon as possible It s painful to pay for 4 hours when the cleaner stays only 2 hours and the things don t get done properly

Well the cleaner only showed up once After 2 no shows and questionable excuses regarding the calendar on the website messing up I cancelled Overall - unreliable and you will experience the immaturity of this company

Just had a visit from Gleam cleaners

Just had a visit from Gleam cleaners the cleaner arrived late and finished early saying she was too tired to carry on Window cleaner was used on kitchen surfaces and cleaner begrudgingly cleaned under bed - a terrible service

Too much hassle

The cleaners normally do a great job BUT they keep cancelling rescheduling all the time I have been rescheduled twice out of 4 times What is the point of using this type of service Also once the cleaner contacted me directly several time to reschedule it Again is it not something gleam should be in charge of

The turnover of cleaners is high so i am consistently having to take the morning off work to meet the new cleaner and provide keys Equally the standard of cleaning varies from very good to average poor from cleaner to cleaner My biggest bug bare however is the lack of phone number to contact the company even when you are a client If there is an emergency there is no way to instantly get in touch Only a call back option
