I wrote Gleam a negative review in November 2019 because of the multiple mistakes that they had made and to make others aware of their hidden charges They offered to either let me leave their company without having to pay the 48 leaving fee or my next clean to be half price I chose to leave They then charged my bank account 48 anyway and told me that if I don t remove the negative review they will not refund it What a joke They are a terrrible company and I would not recommend them at all

Awful company I joined as a cleaner expecting more than basic wages as was advertised But most jobs are 11ph They charge you 25 if you miss a shift even if ill and because the pay is so poor they charge clients 30 ph btw the cleaners often leave and if a client has befriended one and asks them to stay as a private cleaner they also get charged 100 for breach of contract They haven t paid me for 2 weeks because I left and charged 2 clients 100 each One of them is a disabled old lady who simply didn t want to keep changing cleaners so she asked me to stay with her until my new jobs started And now I m 2 weeks with no wages and she got fined 100 Great business model I guess Just employ and charge everyone Stay well away

Cleaner never arrived on day of clean I had to contact Gleam to find out what was going on after waiting for an hour They then told me they would find a replacement within a few days One week later still no replacement Very poor communication and service

I was really disappointed with this company The cleans when they turned up were brilliant But I would get last minute cancellations quite often and the cleaners were just really unreliable A couple of them also didn t seem to know how it worked and thought I was meant to pay them not the company But my main issue is the company themselves and their complete lack of communication and transparency They assured me in earnest that the last cleaner they assigned me would be my regular Then at around 8pm the night before she was due when I d spent the evening running around tidying up they emailed me acting like that was never the case Not the first time they had done that either I just found it all to be very disingenous on their part and to be honest it upset me more than the unreliability of the cleaners themselves When I called them out on it they told me that they were having lots of problems finding reliable cleaners in my area which just felt like a weak excuse Especially since I am now with another company that doesn t have that problem but charges a bit more and is transparent about what their cleaners are paid so I m guessing the conditions are just better In any case I am a neurodiverse working mum and was struggling to maintain my household under the various challenges and pressures the whole point of getting a cleaner was to take that stress away and I m sorry to say that all this company did was add to it

Avoid avoid avoid Would give them a zero if I could Booked an end of tenancy clean and house was left in a filthy state dust still everywhere floors not hoovered despite a hoover being provided and bathrooms barely looked as if they d been touched Sent photos and they agreed to refund me However it has been two months and they are claiming they cannot refund me until the cleaner refunds them despite them being a monetised business and the fact that my transaction was with them and not the individual cleaner Absolutely shocking customer service and shocking clean Avoid avoid avoid

Booked a cleaner online and received email confirmation of it I took the morning off work for it but the cleaner didn t even turn up and I received no response from their help email Called a tel number online for a company called Gleam Clean it turned out to be a car company with the same name but the lady who answered said whoever this cleaning company is I d stop using them immediately because we get accidental calls for them ALL THE TIME saying that a cleaner hasn t turned up They sound terrible DO NOT USE

They say on the landing page of the website that there are no hidden fees However after I tried to cancel a recurring booking after 2 cleans because I was not satisfied with either the cleaner or the company itself they are now charging 48 cancellation fee Turns out there is a hidden fee if it is under the 13 clean minimum This is despite their acknowledgement of low standard of work from one of the cleaners Beware

They called an hour after they were meant to arrive and said they were on our road but never arrived There was no way to contact them back and we never heard from them again Gleam cleaning has since contacted me and asked me to change my review and accepted that they were at fault but it was an honest mistake but as I hadn t replied they made a charge to my account for a random amount fraudulently months after the incident Dishonest company

Terrible and use your card without permission I tried cancelling because I didn t get a good service from the cleaner I tried for the first time I was just going to let it go because the cleaner was nice but they Instead of trying to rectify the situation used the card they had stored to charge me more as they considered it a one off which it wasn t the intent was continuous but they offer a bad service Pretty sure this is illegal so angry The cleaner made my bed by putting clean duvet covers on top of my sheets as sheets and didn t replace any of the sheets or duvets tbh I blame Gleam and not the cleaner they should check the cleaner understands basics before sending them out

Appalling customer service Their second cleaner first one I replaced because she failed to clean a 2 bed flat in 5 hours and tried to charge me more damaged my kitchen having admitted to using a spoon to try and remove a stain from a worktop Gleam then refused to refund me the cost of the clean or offer any compensation
