Stupefyingly NOT user-friendly
What the Hell is wrong with this company The awfulness of this service the impossibility of actually making it all work - has motivated me to start my own on-site car rental service and to do it right It s a fantastic idea But apparently GoCar is run by an eight-year old Look when you make money in a business you use a significant percentage of your profits to make your services easier and more appealing to your clientele As it stands GoCar COULD be what it should be but because of someone s incompetence and or flat out greed you are going to see a far superior competitor take over this idea and put GoCar out of business - and deservedly so

DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICE
I have been using GoCar since 2018 They started off great and then things went downhill Poor hygiene dirty cars customers smoking in the car and GoCar doing nothing about it I guess it s all about the money for them You complain and they block you from using their services Absolute Joke of a company - zero star from me

Poor customer support
When contacting the company with an emergency situation they were dismissive rude didn t listen They had an opportunity to resolve the situation as they used to buy instead maximised the impact on me and the next customer There is no way to log a complaint seemingly

Van cancelled day of with no explanation or apology
A week ago I booked a van for today in order to transport people and materials to a craft fair where said people were due to sell said materials This morning I get an automated email from GoCar confirming cancellation of my booking and informing me my refund was pending I did not cancel I call GoCar and the very nice man on the phone explained that the van had a technical fault and wouldn t be available A couple of very inconvenient alternatives were available but by the time I confirmed with my passengers that these would work these options were gone So in essence cancelled on by GoCar the morning of the booking with absolutely no explanation or apology and no alternatives secured by them Now as it s Saturday afternoon I can t find a van elsewhere and my friends will miss the craft fair and therefore lose out on income Would extremely not recommend

Very annoying they don t care
Very annoying Said they d validate my licence in 12-24 hours They didn t Turns out it s 12-24 business hours and even this excludes weekends - which they don t say anywhere I d plans to hire a van move furniture which I then had to ditch Judging from all the 1 star reviews they don t give a damn about their customers and don t read or take account of these reviews hard to understand tha this is how they hope to do business and get keep customers

Terrible experience
Terrible experience I booked a car 3 weeks in advance for the easter bank holiday the car was without battery and they didn t have a spare car so a weekend planed more than a month ahead completely ruined They just did a full refund and 25 into the Go Car account that I am pretty sure I am not going to use never again Absoultely awfull Worst experience ever in a rental

Terrible waste of time
In October 2022 I booked a car at Fitzwilliam Street West which started at half two in the afternoon I used my phone to unlock the car but it wouldn t unlock My father decided to cancel it by ringing My father thought it was very frustrating and I thought it was extremely disappointing It was just a terrible waste of time I d say GoCar is probably the worst carsharing company in Ireland I am NEVER booking any cars vans from GoCar again ever I am NEVER reinstalling the Go Car app on my phone or my future phones again either If you re reading this avoid the app Please note this experience wasn t happened on Friday the 10th May 2024 It was actually happened on Sunday the 23rd October 2022

Terrible experience on several attempts
Terrible experience every time I ve tried to use it One time the car s battery was dead and it took over an hour to get in touch with someone and then I couldn t get the car to lock and it took another 2 hours to resolve that Next time I tried to use it the car would not unlock Then my driving license randomly went back to pending verification - where it has stayed for several months despite me contacting support I just get a standard reply - it takes 24-72 hours to validate Very unprofessional

Waiting for approval forever
I see bad reviews for this company here but still wanted to try it as one of their car is available near my office Downloaded the app created profile and uploaded documents Now two months and still waiting for approval Looks like every other start-up story Big show-off raise capitals from investors but no actual business
